House Mouse get well

This is for a young lady that was in a sledding accident, and hurt her back, she is going through physical therapy and her mom says she is healing well.
Stampabilities, house mouse design stamp, colored with pencils cut out with spellbinder die. Also used the biggest die for the card shape. Added rock candy stickles to the ice. The papers are all scraps I had laying on my desk, buttons I found at the flea market.

Thanks for stopping by,
We are suppose to get ice storms today, and then snow tomorrow,
not looking forward to the next few days.

Welcome baby

Julia designed this set and I was lucky enough to win it off her blog, I just love the vintage feel of this whole set. This will be going to a girl that recently had a baby boy. I picked the blue and brown combo because the few times I have seen him he has always been in this color combo :)

Both the image and sentiment stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms, baby dear set. Spellbinder die. Felt ribbon from EK success, Border punch is Martha Stewarts.

Hope you are enjoying a great weekend,
Thanks for the comments,
Connie

Fear thou not

This card is for a couple going through some rough times health wise. I liked this verse which is from a sweet n' sassy stamp set, thought it was perfect for the situation.  K&co. paper. Felt flower was found in the Target $ section last year I think, the punch flower is from eksuccess and the leaf punch is from Martha Stewart which I embossed lines in it. Spellbinder die used for the sentiment tag.

Well we are being told that it will get up to 40 degrees today and 45 tomorrow, hard to believe when I woke up and my gauge out back said 10, but I am excited for it non the less, the sun is shining, it's a beautiful day, hope you all are having a wonderful day,

Hello

One of the older ladies in our bible study group, is going through some rough time with her health.  Awhile back she gave me a small box with crafting stuff that she had that she said she felt she just wouldn't get time to use and thought maybe I could use them on my cards.  The ribbon and sticky back appliques were in that box, so I decided to use them on a card we want to send to her.  I put the appliques behind a Martha Stewart border punch.  I used Daisy D's paper on top, the bottom portion is from K&co.
Used my fiskar rotary cutter for the sentiment tag and the stamp is from Studio G.

Chicken in

Our Ladies bible study group Leader wanted to start a reach out and care card giving, and asked for a volunteer to head it up, I thought right then this was what I was meant to do with my cardmaking so I volunteered.  Every other month I make cards for those we know or have heard could use some cheering up, or just to let them know they have been on our prayer list.   We get together and everyone takes a card or more and writes in them. Over the next week or so I will be posting some of the cards I have made for this group.
This image from Stampin up was another Flea market find. Colored with markers, I added the pen marks for chicken feed. Spellbinders to frame it.  Background paper was from a book I found at Big Lots called Savor this moment.  The strip is from Daisy D's. Pebbles glitter candy dots at the bottom.

Enjoy every moment

Good Monday Morning, the sun isn't shinning today so it is a COLD dreary day, but this is the day that the Lord has made so I am going to be glad and rejoice!!
The image is from Stampendous cut out with spellbinder, the script paper in the back is from 7 gypsies and the strip is from Basic Grey, which I also used the fiskar border punch. The hero arts sentiment was also cut out with spellbinder and I cut off the bottom. The string was purchased at my LSS.

Thank you to everyone who commented on my last card,
Hope you all enjoy a GREAT week!

Blog award

My friend Debby sent me this award, had no idea what I was suppose to do, being so new to this.  She said it is German and means Lovely sweet blog, I am so honored she picked me to send it to.  I hope you go visit her blog she does such cute cards with Magnolia stamps, and others too :)
I am to forward the award to 3-5 others, and I decided to go with some people and blogs that have inspired me since I started getting on the internet for ideas.  These girls I knew from my beginning when we had a little card forum called Simply Sentiments, it was a Magazine that had a forum with it, both are now gone but still keep in touch with them all.

Boys will be boys

We are getting more snow here today, I think this is the most snowfall we have had since we have lived here the past 5 years.  But at least it melts in between snows so it isn't piling up.

The card today is for my great nephew, along with masculine cards, kids cards are hard for me to do, maybe I just need some more kids themed stamps, may have to work on that...  These are stickers once again from the desk top sticker calendar. They are mounted on cardstock cut from spellbinder dies, inked the paper a bit to give it a dirty look.

Bella Birthday

Oh my have you been following Tim Holtz's updates on the new stuff he has coming out soon.  Today I was thrilled to see his new line of papers and goodies to go with them he has coming out.  Here is a link to Tim's Blog I love it all and I will be watching for it the end of Feb. begining of March :)

My card is another image that was RAK'd to me, but I do know it is a Bella image.  Colored with markers. I lost who the maker of the paper was sorry, but I do know I used Fiskar punch for the top border and the little flowers that popped out were used for the background.  Tag is Martha Stewart the sentiment is computer generated.

Thanks for stopping by,
Happy Stamping,

Copper trees

I finally caught the flu mid day on Wednesday, since it was hitting everyone else I was sure it was going to be my time soon.  Feeling much better today, don't know if I am ready to clean the bathrooms yet though ;-)

Todays card I used copper embossing powder on an Inkadkinado stamp on Kraft paper, cut out using a spellbinder die, inked around the edges.  This DCWV paper allready had the border on it so I just added a piece of Making Memories ribbon to the top of it.  Hope this isn't to dark for a Masculine Birthday.  I have such a hard time doing masculine.

Hope you enjoy a great weekend,
Thanks for your comments,

Fiskar punch for the grass.  Inked the sky and the bird stamp is from Inkadinkado. Sentiment stamp is MSE.

Oh is it ever cold out there, makes me want to think of a reason not to do my running around today,
Hope your all staying warm,

Crochet hangers

A group of Ladies and I from church get together every other week and bring in the crafts we are working on and have fellowship, it is a fun time and so neat to see what everyone is working on at the moment.  Last week I was not ready with a new project so I just took some hangers and leftover yarn and crocheted some more hangers for my closet, I know there are pretty patterns for hangers but this is quick and easy.  I make a chain by measuring around the hanger as I go when it is at the length I like, you add 3 more chains, this will be your first double crochet, then you just double crochet two rows. Then I just slip stitch it right on to my hanger.  I love this for those sweaters you hang just for the season or those items that tend to slip off the hangers the crocheting helps keep it on the hanger.

Well we did get the snow they predicted and it is still coming down.  Just got a text from our daughter she has almost fallen 3 times trying to get to class at college.  I was afraid of the same thing so I cancelled the appointment I had today for the vet, figure the furbabies can wait another week or so for their shots :)
Hope you all are safe and warm, and thanks for stopping by,
Connie

A little birdie

Well they say we are going to get hit with snow tonight about 3 to 4 inches. Figures I have to take my two cats and dog to the Vet tomorrow for all their yearly vaccinations so that should be interesting.

The card today uses an image I received in a RAK awhile back and so I am not sure on who the maker of the stamp is.  If you happen to know if you could tell me and I will edit this post.  I colored the image with pencils, used spellbinder oval and scallop ovals to frame her.  Sentiment stamp is Hero Arts, on spellbinder tag. Paper is K&co.

Thank you so much for stopping by and your comments,

With Sympathy

One of my Christmas gifts this year was this new Martha Stewart corner and border punch, I loved the design but wondered how I was going to use it since when punching all around it leaves a whole.... Well I ended up stamping a Crafty Secrets bird inside and backed it with a piece of Deju Views paper and that is what I used for the background piece also. Looking back at it now I wish I would have inked around that image square, isn't that how it goes after it is sent you think of something else you would have liked to do with it.  Sentiment stamp is Kaiser Crafts, stamped on a Spellbinder nestie tag with Brads.
Thank you so much for stopping by,
Hope your having a Blessed day,

Heartfelt Sympathy

There were many sympathy cards needed during the Holiday Season, it's so hard to see people go through the pain of losing their loved ones but even harder when it is such a happy time of year.
I used Kaiser Craft sentiment on a spellbinder die. Added Sizzix leaf die and McGill flower punch on embossed paper and added pearl paint to the centers, K & co. paper.
Thanks so much for stopping by,

Angels

Good Morning, oh my and is it ever a crisp morning. Today I am sharing a couple of the Christmas cards I did for this past Christmas. I used Gold embossing powder and Inkadinkado stamps on these. Daisy D's paper, it's hard for me not to stay with traditional colors but these browns were in their Christmas collection so I decided to go with it. I used an EK success corner punch for the brown ones and Spellbinder nestabilities for the red cards. Spellbinders for the sentiment tag and offray ribbon. Of course you have to have more sparkle so I added stickles.

Cross-stitch card

Yesterday was a busy day, I had office duty at church so I had to be there by 8am.  Got home from church at 12:30, made lunch, and then it was time to pack up our daughter to go back to college, I think she took more food back with her than anything else, we had the trunk and the back seat full.  We were 15 miles from the college when she asked me about her sheets and towels I said they were in the canvas bag and she said OH NO I don't remember packing that, we called back home to Husband who said yep it's still here, so there we were almost 45 minutes into the drive and had to turn around to get her two sets of sheets and all her towels, so by the time I got back home last night it was late.

Today I am posting a cross-stitch card I made.  I love combining both of these crafts into one.  For my pattern I used those cross-stitch calendars. In order for it to fit on the card I had to make my card a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card. The background paper is K& co. and I stitch the aida cloth right onto cardstock with my sewing machine.

Dad's Quilt

This is a quilt that I made for my Dad for Christmas.

Here he is opening it.

The Quilt pattern for this was found in the Spring 2010 Quilts and More Magazine.
Title of the quilt is Lincoln's Platform
it was machine pieced and quilted in the ditch
