Going away

This is the card I made for our Pastor and his wife, this past Sunday was his last Sunday with us, there were alot of shed tears, they will be greatly missed.  It is unsettling to know what the future will hold but I pray that God will give our Church leaders wisdom as they pick the new Pastor.

It was hard to get a good picture of this card, I don't know if it was the time of day I took it or the embossing just reflected badly or what so I have two shots so hopefully you can get what I was going for.

I first tried to emboss with the same paper that I stamped the verse on and you just couldn't see the detail in the stamp, finally found some detailed embossing powder and that still didn't help so I went with stamping on the white paper and just doing some inking around the edges of both the image and card, then used a silver pen to go around the edges.

Our Daily Bread designs -- Surging Sea stamp set for image and verse, embossed in silver
Tim Holtz -- Vintage Shabby papers
Spellbinders -- A2 Distressed edges, Labels 11, A2 matting basics A and long classic rectangles small dies
Distress inks -- Faded jeans
DCWV -- Metallic stack paper
Brads

This next picture lets you get a better view of the verse that is also in this stamp set.

I want to thank all those who have become followers of my blog, I am not apart of google plus so it wouldn't let me go to your blogs but I appreciate you stopping by and letting me know that you were here, I really appreciate that.

I hope you all are enjoying the start to your week,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Connie

Very beautiful card, Connie! The silver embossing gives it that extra special touch and yes, it can be difficult to photograph, but I know the true look and it's just perfect. Have an excellent day!
Hugs,
Lisa

Connie, it's beautiful and I know how appreciated it was. That is an important position to fill and it's difficult when you get attached to someone. I'm sure it will all turn out good in the end.

A very handsome card Connie! Love the verse you chose! It's always hard to see a beloved Pastor leave. I know he cherished your card. PS. Sponge another one and enter it at ODBD! You have 2 weeks!

A very elegant and beautifully done card for your Pastor Connie. It's always sad when the Pastor leaves.

Your pastor will treasure this beautiful card. I can't imagine losing someone who has led you all like that. BTW, I can still comment on people's blogs who are Google plus. Let me know if I can help. I am not a part of it either. I don't like it. LOLOL :-(

Fantastic masculine card Connie. Love that sail boat image, the blue hues... hope the new pastor will be just as much of a blessing as the old one was...
