ODBDSLC210

I know can you believe I have posted 3 days in a row, I even shocked myself.

Our Daily Bread is now doing challenges that last for 2 weeks, and it finally took me almost the whole two weeks to get to this but I made it before the deadline which is tomorrow.  You can find out the details HERE on their blog .

I needed a Birthday card for my oldest brother who is 14 years older than me.  They go camping quite a bit in Michigan over the summer, so I went with this image that will remind him of the beautiful sunsets on the Lake over the summer.  That is one of the main things we miss about Michigan, they have Awesome camping!

The challenge was to use stencils or sponging on your card and I went with using sponging for all the coloring on this, using distress inks and Tim Holtz sponge applicators, I have both the rectangle and round ones now and I will have to say I do love the round ones.

Our Daily Bread designs-- The Mighty Sea, for image and sentiment
Distress inks for sponging -- Spiced Marmalade, mustard seed, tumbled glass, wild honey and tea dye inks
Spellbinders -- A2 mattting basics B, A2 Distressed edges dies
My mind's eye -- the sweetest thing
DCWV -- cardstock

I have been walking around a mile or little more when I walk, today I went 2 and 7/10 of a mile, so close to making 3 miles.  My knees and my back hurt but it felt so good to accomplish that.

Hope this weekend your able to get out and do something you haven't done in awhile :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

Hi Connie!
Your brother is going to love this work of art. Your sunset turned out gorgeous. Fab card!!!
I've loved camping, especially at the lakes or rivers, since I was a little girl. It often takes me back... It's been a while and I miss it.
Hope you had a nice weekend.
Hugs,
Lisa

You do the best masculine cards, Connie! Wonderful use of color on this. Good for you, walking. I walk 30 minutes every night after work before I go home. It helps me decompress and makes me feel not so bad about dropping on the couch after dinner.

Wonderful card Connie! And beautiful sponging :). Yes, I think round ones will do better job in sponging, since I tried with the rectangles (the ones I had) and the sponging was not proper.
