Postcard Birthday

I made this card for my Sister in law.

I am sharing it over at  Stephanie's Roses of Inspiration.  I really didn't expect Stephanie to have it this week, you see she lost her Grandpa last week and had to travel a long distance to see him for the last time. Continued prayers for you Stephanie that God may bring you peace and only smiles come to your face as you remember your sweet Grandpa.

I have always loved postcards on cards but the stamps were usually quite large and I didn't want it to cover my whole card, then I saw this the other day at my LSS and I decided to buy it.  It has a nice distress feel to it too that I like.  Since my other love is flowers well that had to happen too :)

When cutting out the flower dies I didn't quite like how they were coming together so I did a few extra cuts in the flowers to get them to shape the way I wanted them to look.

Whimsy stamps-- Vintage postcard
K&co. -- Blue Awning paper
Technique Tuesday -- Happy Birthday sentiment stamp set
Spellbinders -- A2matting basics A and Flour bouquet dies
Forever in time -- Pearls
Martha Stewart -- Leaves Punch
EK Success -- little flowers punch
Stickles -- vintage photo for the little flower centers

I hope you all had a nice weekend.  My heart goes out to those people that have been struck by the tornadoes and flooding.  We are thankful that even though we had the tornado warnings all we had was very high winds and pelting rain.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and Have a wonderful week,
Connie

Oh, dear Connie, Stephanie is going to love this card! I did not know she is your SIL! I love the beautiful postcard design with your gorgeous flowers and wonderful sentiment! What a beautiful card. Yes, I was so sorry to hear about your dear grandpa and am praying for the entire family. While Grandpa Don is now with Jesus, he has left a deep loss in the hearts of many. Hugs, sweet friend!

I tried to reword my post since a couple of people read it wrong and thought Stephanie and I are related. I was telling who I made the card for and that I was sharing it over at Stephanie's Roses of Inspiration link up, sorry for the mistake.

This has got to be one of my favorite cards I've seen you made. I love how you've used the postcard print as backing. Absolutely lovely!

Your SIL will love this pretty card, Connie. You combined two wonderful design elements with the postcard and the flowers. So gorgeous, and that length of lace is a lovely finish.

Oh Connie, I had to giggle that some people thought we were sisters :) I guess technically we are sisters...sisters in Christ :)

The card that you made for your SIL is stunning! I love the postcard look and the flowers really finish it off nicely.

Thank you so much for sharing with Roses of Inspiration. I felt bad not having the party and to be honest it keeps my mind and heart occupied. Hugs to you!

I love the postcard stamp! I would love one of those! The card is just so pretty! I agree with the comment that Stephanie would be an awesome sil although I am old enough to be her mother or aunt. LOL!

Hi Connie, love your postcard designs. Yes, sometime your own inner designer just sees the right way to go with an idea. Your work is beautiful. I love to paint on postcards and found unfinished cards in an art shop.
Your sil is going to love it!! The flowers are gorgeous!!
Wishing you a nice weekend.
