Birthday Daisy

When I had done the last card, I had two pieces that I had embossed, the first one I had a little problem with the vellum cracking even though I ran it through the embossing folder with a piece of light weight paper which helps with that happening, when I had to go make a card for my nephews wife I decided to just cut off that chunk and still use it.  I am apart of two cardmaking groups on line and this groups challenge was to make a card with green and yellow so that is what determined my colors here.

The daisy's have been colored with a yellow distress marker on the back side of the vellum and the brads were originally white so I colored them with a yellow spectrum noir pen.  The little gems and butterfly are also yellow.

Darcie -- Large Daisy Embossing folder
Vellum
BasicGrey -- Lilykate paper
Bazzill Brads -- colored yellow
Martha Stewart-- butterfly punch
Me & my big ideas -- gems

Hope you all enjoy a Fun and safe Independence day!! My hubby has to work, so we will be missing out on the fun this year.

I thought I would share a cross-stitching I did a few years back and I made it into a wall hanging.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and saying Hi,

Connie

Ah love embossed vellum and think it's great to colour too, use all sorts, one this week using Panpastels, hope to post soon, love this one Connie!!! And the one below....
Also...must use a different folder but would work well too. Thanks for idea!!

Pray you are recovered from your tumble head first I have done that twice, I skinned my nose from bridge to tip last time.. With glasses metal nose piece, but mercifully did not break them as it was smack first onto cement.
Won't go inoto rest of injuries, but first one was worst, with knee ten stitches from landing on metal foot scrapper. Nose badly bruised and bit skinned...Don't do things by halves, and still have the scars :D
Pray that Randy has recovered okay too, not fun ... accidents.

Thanks for popping over, Shaz in Oz.x

Beautiful card, Connie, and I love the vellum! Great tip about running it through with a regular piece of paper! And what a gorgeous cross-stitch wall hanging. I used to love to cross-stitch and love this adorable and sweet image. And what beautiful quilting you've done! Happy Fourth of July, my friend! Hugs!

tip: to emboss vellum add a piece of "grunge" paper it will soften a bit the "cracking"

Beautiful card Connie. Love the pretty daisies on vellum. I can imagine it wasn't easy to emboss the vellum... but it turned out great. Love the colors. Neat wall hanging!

Your card is so absolutely pretty with the embossed vellum! I hadn't heard of running it through with a sheet of paper to avoid cracking. I'll have to try that! Thanks for sharing your wall hanging, too. You are a woman of many talents!
