Sending Hugs

A friend lost her sister at the age of 82.

I used vellum in the embossing folder and then colored the back side with a white distress marker.

Darcie -- Large Daisy embossing folder
Vellum
Distress marker -- picket fence
We R memory keepers -- Anthologie paper
David Tutera -- Celebrate sentiment pack

I thought I would also share a little visitor my husband came across a couple days after our flooding.  He was mowing and felt a bit of a jerk when he looked this turtle was there.  He didn't harm it thank goodness and he brought it up to the porch for me to have a look.  So I ran and got the camera, he never did pop his head out, and it is too dark in the picture for you to see his head tucked in there.  We have a pond at the top of our road so we were going to take it up there after my hubby finished mowing but we couldn't find the little guy.

He was about the size of a football I would say.
We have more flooding in the ditch today but it is a foot or so from our fence.  I wish so much we could share some of this rain with those of you that need it so bad.

A guy from our church in his 50's was in a bad motorcycle accident yesterday, I guess a car didn't see him, but he is in ICU, his wife is in my craft group at church, if you could take a few moments to pray for him I would really appreciate that, his name is Randy.

I also took a fall while carrying a box of kindling from our garage out back to our wood pile, I bruised the side of my eye where my glasses were pushed onto my face, my arm is quite sore, hard to hold anything to heavy, my knee isn't as bad and I also had a splinter of wood in my head, my husband was trying not to laugh while trying to get it out for me the next day, just imagining how I must have fell to get a splinter in the top of my head, he said that will be the last time I am walking while carrying stuff in that grass.  He thinks it was a combination of the ground being so soft from all that flooding and the moles making mounds too.  I am just thankful I didn't break anything.

Hope you all are doing well and having a blessed week!
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and say Hello,

Connie

Oh Connie! What a terrible week you've had. I hope you're feeling better after your fall, yikes! hopefully this weekend will be better. I'm sorry about your friend's sister and your friend that was in an accident. Prayers and hugs to them both. As for that turtle, CUTE! I remember a few years ago, there was a big turtle crossing a busy road, so of course I had to get out of the car and help it across the street. I would have felt guilty all day if I didn't do something. I hope you have a wonderful July 4th Connie! Hugs!

Dearest Connie, oh I am so very sorry to hear of your accident...I hope you aren't too badly hurt? How horrible to take a tumble!

And I will be praying for your friend's husband - car accidents are such terrible things, and. I am sure their family must be really worried right now... May the precious Lord wrap His loving arms around them and bring comfort to their hearts...

Aww! What an adorable little turtle - I am so glad he didn't get hurt with the mower...I love finding little critters in the garden!

And Connie, you've created such a gorgeous card for your sweet friend... I love the simple daisy design...I am sure she will truly appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Have a blessed day further, dear Connie!
Sending you much love and hugs...

How interesting, to find the turtle! He definitely wasn't receiving visitors!
I hope you soon pick up after that nasty fall, Connie.
I will pray for Randy.

Beautiful card with the vellum! I absolutely love the white coloring and would love to find one of those markers. I'm so sorry about your friend, and about your fall, too. I'm glad you weren't more hurt. Not such a great week. I would like to have some of that rain, but not too much. Near my work the other day there was a giant tortoise walking along the road. Where did that come from??? Figure it must have escaped from someone's home. I do know someone who has a giant tortoise they inherited from another family member. I wouldn't think there were that many giant tortoises around here. A few years ago a box turtle showed up in my garden. Never ever saw a turtle in my garden before. Looked out there again a few minutes later and it was gone. How did it move so fast? I looked everywhere. So I had to laugh when you said you couldn't find him. I hope he's okay!

Another beautiful embossed vellum creation, Connie. My goodness that flooding is causing havoc... not just for Mr. Turtle but for you as well. Glad that you were not more seriously hurt. So sorry to hear about your friend's husband, though. Sending thoughts and prayers..
