Belated

This was for one of the newer members of our church that I found out when her birthday was because her husband invited me to a surprise party for her.  I wasn't able to make it to the party so I made her a card and gave it to her the following Sunday at church.

I colored the flower die cut with markers.

April Rose Illustration-- paper from cardmaking and papercraft magazine
Memory Box -- Distressed Baptisia collage die and Verona Bouquet
Stampendous -- Birthday Assortment sentiment stamp

I didn't get a clear stamp on the background piece, it is times like this that I am seriously thinking of asking for the MISTI for Christmas this year.  Have you seen it?  A lot of the girls in my on line cardmaking group have purchased it and can't say enough good things about it.  There are all kinds of you tube video's on it too.  I have a stamp a ma jig but this looks even easier to use.

Evelyn update:  Had a check up yesterday and she is up to 12 lbs. 7 oz. They burnt off some skin near her G tube and snipped open the blister on her incision needless to say not a happy girl with all that. She is now up to 6 feedings of 82 ml and only 6 hours of continuous feeds at night so she is constantly improving, Praise the Lord!

Here is a picture at her Doctors visit.

We are having a great visit with our friend, he will be moving on after lunch today. Facebook is a great way to keep in touch but there is nothing like hanging out in person and catching up and talking about old times too :)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Connie

I love the sentiment on your card. Very fun.

Evelyn looks good! I haven't been able to follow everything that is going on medically, but in the photo she looks happy and healthy!

Oh, Connie, what a great sentiment indeed! I love it! And what a beautiful card with the corner die and the lovely flowers! Sounds like a fun lunch with your friend. Yes, there's nothing better than hanging out in person! And praise God to see Evelyn growing stronger and getting bigger. Yes, she must not have liked having all that done to her, but thankfully, she is getting stronger each day! Praise God! Thanks for the updates! Hugs!

Praise the Lord! I am so excited about sweet Evelyn and her progress :)

Your card is lovely, my friend. The "honeycomb" look is quite unique and pretty. Enjoy your weekend, Connie. Love and hugs!

The honeycomb effect is so unusual and very pretty, Connie!
So thankful to see little Evelyn and her progress, even though she has to undergo painful procedures she looks good!
God bless!

Pretty die cuts, Connie! I've been eyeing those distressed background dies. Love how you colored the flowers, and the sentiment is great for a belated birthday card. I've been hearing a lot about the MISTI, too, but haven't watched any videos yet. I'll do that soon. Really need to clean and tidy my room before I think about bringing home any more stuff!

Wonderful card, Connie, love the colours and thoughtfully done layout...
... and can relate to the stamping issue, think your problem may be in part due linen finish on you card surface, but you can re stamp with Misti, don't have one and to be honest you can re-stamp an awful lot of card for the price of one Downunder.

If you google "make your own Misti" have seen ways of doing it, if you can get the right DVD clear hard plastic but we can't get them in Oz, but know of folks who have made them successfully overseas.

One thing to be aware if you have a Pacemaker, you cannot use the strong magnets that they use with Misti. Darnell has one and a Pacemaker and put a warning on her blog.
Thanks so much for popping over

I love cards that have a 3-d look to them :-) I had to get a closer look at the cut work on this one... at first glance I thought you cut all those hexagons out and glued them on lol.. I amuse myself.

The little baby looks very healthy... I pray that she continues to get healthier :-)
big hugs,
Cheryl
