Baseball

I had to make this card for my nephew before leaving on vacation and I was stumped for what to do for him, my hubby suggested this card right down to the background, I was going to go for a smaller ball but he liked it bigger.  I just cut the circle with my punch, embossed some curves on the sides and then pierced holes so I could hand stitch the ball.  On the background I ran the Orange/red piece of paper through my Xyron and then cut it with the die, also cut a piece of kraft cardstock with the same die and then inlaid all the orange pieces, running it through the xyron first before cutting sure does make putting the inlaid pieces in quicker, so you don't have to add adhesive to every little piece.  It looks like a simple card but inlaying all those pieces took some time and the hand stitching on the ball.

Die-versions --  Diamonds background die
Spellbinders -- Labels 8 dies
Technique Tuesday -- Happy Birthday sentiment stamp set
Marvy -- circle punch
American crafts -- jute

I did a little shading on the ball and the sentiment to make it look a little used and added a bit of jute. The ball and sentiment both were popped up with foam tape.

Well the next few days we are being told that we are going to have higher than normal temps, I guess on Friday it may be close to our all time high, so summer is not done with us yet but fall temps will be coming next week.

Hope you are enjoying your week and thanks so much for taking out the time to stop by and say Hi :)

I think that card is so darn cute, what a great idea Connie. We had to leave our dogs for 11 days, I missed them so much!! that was really really hard, we left them with a dog sitter because I did not want to put them in the kennel even though it was top rated. But still it is terribly hard to do. Glad you enjoyed your trip though. Have a great day! hugs Kat
