Rose Challenge

Heidi from my stamp group gave us the challenge to use a rose on our card, and I needed a card for a friend at church and I have had this rose stamp I picked up at the yard sale at my stamp store for awhile that needed to get some inking, so this is the card I came up with :)

I colored the rose with Spectrum markers and then hand cut it out and adding some foam tape to apply it to the card. I also pierced some holes on either side of the rose stem and threaded my floss through and tied the sentiment tag on that way.

Be sure to check out Heidi's blog, she does such pretty work with all her cards, I really love what she does with her Tapestry stamps.

JRL Designs -- Rose Romance, colored w/markers and fussy cut
Papertrey ink -- Hodge Podge papers
Spellbinders -- Fleur De Lis Rectangles
Taylored Expressions -- Mini tags die and many minis occasions sentiment stamp

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today and to let me know you did, so nice hearing from you all.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, we are having some very HOT and HUMID weather here.

Connie

Oh, what a wonderful challenge, and I love this rose! It's beautifully colored, and I love that you fussy cut it and laid is over the die from DP. Beautifully done! And I didn't know you knew Heidi. I have gotten to know her since she started on SCS, and she is a sweetheart! It's a small world, but so glad you and she are in a stamp group together! Big hugs, and keep cool. Yes, summer is here. We've had a lot of rain this year, and who knows what the hurricane season will bring. But God knows. Sending hugs, sweet friend, and thanks for sharing this lovely card!

I love your rose all big and beautiful on the pretty die cut background! Really love that tag, too. If it got that hot here I'd be in my stamp room, too, as long as it was air conditioned.

You have handled a classic image with confidence and done it justice, dear Connie!
Its a time of year for roses.
Sorry a bit late with my visit, I have been away again. My Dad's garden is full of beautiful roses, they really are the best flower when all's said and done :) x
