Card and Arches at Sunset

I thought I would share a card I did for my nephew first, I have a few waiting to be posted, then I will share the sunset pictures I took while at the same arches I showed yesterday.

This is designer paper and stickers.

There is a bit of shine to these stickers so I took another picture that I was able to get it without the shine.

I am not sure if that piece I used for the moose to walk on is suppose to be ground or more trees but I thought it worked to ground him, these are 5 different stickers.

I took some Kraft cardstock and ran my ink pad over it in swipes to give the textured look for the background.
The Dazzles (Stickers) are from Hot off the Press called Great Outdoors.

There is a little story behind my pictures I am sharing today.  After we finished taking pictures of all the arches in this area, it was getting close to sunset, hubby asked if I would like to stay and get some sunset shots since there were a lot of dramatic clouds too he thought they would be neat.  I said sure so we found a couple of rocks to sit on and my hubby sat up his tripod for his camera and since I didn't carry mine I decided to put my camera away and just enjoy the sunset and not take any pictures, Well we where facing Turret Arch and enjoying the sunset when for some reason I turned around to look at The South window and this is what I saw.

Quite the contrast from my last post huh!  I thought it was so cool looking with the sun making the arches glow orange now. I hurried and got my camera out of my bag and started taking pictures.  I wish I could have truly captured it for you it was amazing.

When I turned to tell Greg to look at them the next picture is what I saw to the left of us, a Beautiful rainbow in the sunset.  My hubby said you take pictures of the arches I will get the rainbow, so we were both like two little kids snapping away pictures.  I just had to take a break and get one of the rainbow myself :)

Then I turned and tried to capture the sunset through Turret arch.  Talk about getting dizzy from spinning around trying to capture the sunset from so many angles, very exciting, and you know how fast it goes down when you are trying to capture that good shot.

What did I tell you those were some dramatic clouds, luckily it didn't rain on us though, it was off in the distance. This last shot the sky had turned orange and yellow so I tried another picture to get the difference in colors.

It is a beautiful place to visit if you get the chance.  Greg and I were just talking yesterday that we think we enjoyed this area even more than the Grand Canyon.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today, I know how busy everyone is with the kids starting up school again and all the other obligations that the Autumn season brings, so thanks so much for taking the time to comment too :)

Oh, Connie, what a wonderful card for your nephew! I love the background you've made with the swiping of the ink pad. And the moose and the tree work perfectly. Great masculine card! And wow! The photos you and Greg took are amazing, and how beautiful and so vibrant are the colors! How can one not see the hand of God is His creation!? It's glorious and just a taste of what is to come! Hugs, sweet friend, and praying for you!

Such incredible geologic color you are sharing with us today! Each day I think, "how much more beauty can there be?" and I am reminded that if we want to see Nature's beauty, it is unfolding itself minute-by-minute right before us. Thank you for sharing your travels, Connie.

The moose card is fabulous! If you hand not admitted they were stickers, I would have thought you stamped and wet embossed the images! LOL They look fantastic.

Have a great day, Connie! hugs, de

Such cool stickers! I never see such great stickers around here. The nice thing is, they cost relatively little, you use them up, they don't take up much space... I'm a little focused on space and waste these days as I'm trying to gain some space back in my stamp room. Okay, now, Connie... those Arches pictures are amazing! Isn't the red the most glorious thing? I took lots of sunset pictures when we were there and you HAVE to look behind you as the sun sets. Good thing you did! The rainbow shot is a prize winner, I tell you. I'm in absolute awe!

What glorious landscapes, Connie. Both you and your husband have captured the most amazing photos. It's funny isn't it, how in a twinkling of an eye one can capture the same subject but with an entirely different colour, atmosphere, light etc etc. One will never ceased to be amazed by God's glorious masterpieces! Oh.....and I love your card. LOVE the moose. =)

Were you in Colorado Springs Connie? We went there (and Arches & Canyonlands National Parks areas) a few years ago on Sabbatical and I was blown away by how beautiful the red rocks were. Loved that trip! You captured some beautiful pictures!
