Anniversary

Our Daughter and son in law recently celebrated their anniversary and this is the card I gave to them, this is about clean and simple as I get, I resisted for the longest time but at the end I added some blue ink around the edges.

I think it was all looking very good until I tried adding the Nuvo crystals, I just can't get the hang of them, after seeing other people use them I got mine out again to give it a try and that just don't want to lay flat for me no matter what I try, so this was after a lot of messing around with them.  I have learned one thing, even if I mark it out first I will no longer try to make a line of them.

Darcie's -- JCS 140 stamp set, colored w/markers
Scor Pal -- Scored line above sentiment
Nuvo crystal drops-- Carnation pink

Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!!

Connie

This is super cute! I love the sweet love birds under the smiling sun. I didn't notice the not straight line of Nuvo drops until you mentioned it. I have to say, I most often have been putting the Nuvo drops onto a little piece of transparency and letting them set up. Then I apply them to the card. I had an issue where I really messed them up and nearly ruined the card when I directly applied them. I am glad that didn't happen with yours!

Oh, this is cute! I love love LOVE the image, and the sentiment is perfect for an anniversary card. Really love the CAS look, too. I'm always scared to apply Nuvo drops directly to my cards. I'm not very good with them. The videos make it look so easy. Sometimes they come out great, though, and I do like them. Many times I do what Heidi said and apply them to an acetate sheet first. Then I can choose only the good ones.

I think your little dots are perfect just the way they are, Connie. Who wants them all in a line anyway. =) Such a sweet card. Cute little birdies in a nest and love the smiling sun. The perfect anniversary card!

This card is the sweetest, I know they will love it! Happy Anniversary to them! Nuvo Crystals are wonderful. I hear what you're saying though. I know lots of people make them on acetate first, I always go right to my card though. I have also heard that if you tap the back of your card they will really 'round out' I have seen where they swirl the bottle as they pull out....if that makes any sense lol If you take a paper piercing template you can simply pencil in dots in a straight line to help. It's hard to eyeball. Still a beautiful card of love, made with love!

Don't you hate it when you try to add one more thing and mess up?! Happens to me too! I rarely try anything that needs to looks straight, but rather go for a random look since I know it'll end up that way anyhow! (AND I still mess up - smile!)
What a darling anniversary card! Love those sweet lovebirds in the tree with an umbrella over them! So cute!

Such a sweet anniversary card Connie. Love the sweet birds in the nest. I don't have Nuvo... I've tried other products before but I never had great success making drops... so I try to stay with candy dots and rhinestones... I've found some at the $1 so those are good buys.
