Teen Birthday and Michigan

It is so hard for me to do older teen boy cards, my great nephew turned 17, I was coming up blank so I went for the boy paper pack I have and let that do most of the work for me, just added some stamped leaves and sentiment and it was done.

I love how you can add multiple colors using the Misti stamping tool, and if you don't get it right the first time it will line up perfectly for the next time to try it again!

Recollections -- Awesome Boy paper
Studio G -- It's your day and leaves stamps
Distress Oxide inks -- Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade on leaves

I thought I should probably get to sharing more of the pictures that I took on our little trips we have been taking, I still haven't finished with our trip out west but since it is fall I thought I had better get those shared will it is still fall.

Today's pictures are from Port Huron Michigan.  The land you see on the other side of the port is Canada and the Blue Water bridge is what takes you over to Canada, we don't have passports so we didn't end up going over there.

It really fascinates me how big these ships are, and it was perfect to get the birds in the shots too :)

They really have a pretty walk along the port there, I love walking along the water and they have it all paved so it isn't as hard to walk through as sand :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

Wow! These pictures are as different as night and day from your "out west" photos". Amazing how the scenery changes from one area to the next. There's so much to see in our country! Beautiful shots. Bet it's cold there now! Connie, I don't know if I'd even attempt a teen boy card. You're a brave soul, but since the kids in your family are growing up you'll have lots of teen boy cards to make. Letting the paper do most of the work is a perfect idea, and the autumn leaves make it current with the season. The inking on them with the help of your MISTI is beautiful!

What a great idea to turn to your printed paper packs when you don't have stamps fitting a certain occasion. Your masculline teen turned out great! What beautiful photo's too!

Such a great sky line and beautiful deep blues! I enjoy seeing your travels (as you know), and always feel close to you when you share them, like I get to see things through your eyes - and you have a marvelous way of revealing the love and awe you are experiencing through the photos.

Fantastic young person's card! I need to make some, too, and am at a loss! Isn't it fun seeing the generations - remembering when we were young, and now seeing the threads of our family as they emerge and bloom into young adults? It's a whole new world for them.

Have a great day, Connie! xx

Gorgeous photos of your trip, Connie. Oh those blue, blue skies. Walking along the water is always a must when away. Love this card. It is perfect for a 17 year old boy. The background paper is really neat. I too, would find it tricky to come up with boy themed cards, but once again, you have done brilliantly!

Hi Connie, beautiful photos. I love the card for your great-nephew, you did a great job. I will be on the other side of that bridge in a few weeks to have an early Christmas with my husband's family. I would love to head over to Port Huron to shop but probably can't get away from family obligations. Hobby Lobby is my favorite lol.

This is such a great card. When stumped, you can always do a screen of some sort, big or small they all related to those :-)

Great layout to your card. Like you clock, and the leaves. I live about 7 minutes from the Bluewater Bridge. How cool is that? When the dollar was at par I went to shop and do my groceries at Myers every two weeks, but now that the dollar is so bad I don't go over. I will be going over on the first Monday of December, as I'm off work that day, to mail my Christmas parcels to my family and mail out my Christmas cards.
