With sympathy

Sharing another sympathy card I needed, I am sorry I can't remember where I got the idea for this card but how I did it was I cut out the shape, took the negative and using my inks I sponged in the opening to give the flowers a base.

Spellbinders - A2 matting basics B and A2 Distressed edges dies
Distress inks - Dusty Concord, Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar
Inkadinkado - Garden delight stamp set
Taylored Expressions - care & comfort sentiment stamp
Martha Stewart - Butterfly
Distress Stickles - Dusty Concord

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

This is lovely! I actually just made some cards sponging off a shape and then stamping florals. They do look lovely! Your card is sure to bring comfort.

I'm sorry you need another sympathy card, Connie, but this is so beautiful. I love the technique of using the negative space, and your sponging is perfect. Just what is needed to ground the silhouette and then sentiment. And the butterfly is always such a lovely and peaceful touch. It's going to be loved, sweet Connie! Hugs! xoxo
