Silver Ornaments

I used these ornament stickers in past cards but I saved the inner parts because I saw how you can use transfer sheets to use them for another card. HERE is a link to show how it is done.  I put mine onto patterned paper on the first and then white on the second.

I forgot to remove the outer part like she showed on the video on my first one.

  • Starform sticker - 8502 and transfer sheet
  • Basic Grey - Periphery paper behind sticker
  • ODBD - Christmas paper 2014
  • Basic Grey - Wholy Cow rub on sentiment
  • Starform - Glitter sticker border 7010

When I saw this stamp I just had to get it, aren't they cute together, the dog reminded me of our late little Peanut, miss him so. I colored this dog like him and gave the cat some coloring like our cat we have now Opie :)  I added a touch of glitter glue for the snow on the Post box and ground.

  • Newtons Nook - Holiday Post stamp, colored w/markers
  • Stickles - Diamond for the snow
  • My Favorite things - Cross stitch rectangle die
  • Fancy Pants Designs - Saint Nick Papers

Awesome

This is my last card using the Autumn papers and some goodies from 49 and market.  I first cut some water color paper with wildflower dies, then using distress inks I water colored them. Then I found this cute little banner that I added some of the enamel dots too and found a great sentiment in the pack to use, wishing them a very Awesome day.

  • 49 and Market - Vintage Artistry in the Leaves 12x12 paper, Ephemera bits and Bubbles and Trinkets
  • Tim Holtz - Wildflowers #1 dies, water colored with Distress inks - Peeled Paint, Ripe Persimmon, Carved Pumpkin and Fossilized Amber

Happy Thanksgiving

I have decided to make a new tradition on Thanksgiving, when I said my prayers this morning it was nothing but all the things I am thankful for, I asked nothing of him just all that I am thankful for. Normally I tell him a few things I am thankful for each morning and then go on to pray for all those that need healing, our world situations, ect. I know I didn't even hit all the things I am thankful for but thankfully he knows my heart.

I am thankful for the friends I have made through my blog too, and I hope today you have so many things that you are thankful for that you are overwhelmed by them.

The card I am sharing today I sent to my sister, she texted me to tell me she liked a card I made with this window die a few months ago so I used the same set to make her Thanksgiving card, instead of the flowers she got pumpkins in the window.  She can take off the Thanksgiving sign if she wants to display it during the Autumn season.

  • Poppystamps - Small Madison window and Picket fence dies
  • Studio G - Pumpkin stamps, colored w/markers
  • Tim Holtz - Bricked embossing folder, sponged ink over embossing and Crochet die
  • Impression Obsession - Sentiments II stamp
  • Jute

I meant to post this card yesterday but time got away from me.

All these images came from a wall calendar, I just fussy cut them and matted them with squares cut from dies.

  • Images cut from wall Calendar
  • PPD - Mini stitched squares for matting
  • Ms. Sparkle & co. - thankful paper
  • Fiskars - sentiment stamp

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today!

Ok I just had to use one more of the feathered friends die, I love these birds this time I am using the smaller of the two. I cut the wreath from Pattern paper and then just colored the stem part of the leaves with brown marker.

  • Tim Holtz - Feathered Friends die, layers cut from pattern paper and cardstock
  • Hot off the press- Wreath die, colored the wreath part, flowers cut from PP and cardstock
  • Gina Marie - Birthday words sentiment stamp

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today, I know how busy this week can get with Thanksgiving preparations :)

Leaves w/flowers

I found the leaf fragment die at Hobby Lobby and you know I had to pick it up, these are so cool.  I made up some backgrounds to cut them from using my distress inks, I can not for the life of me find the paper I wrote those colors down on.  I embossed my background cardstock with a leaf embossing folder and wanted to grunge that up a bit too, just to match my die cut leaves a bit and then I added the leaves, using foam adhesive on some of them and then thought it needed a little more so added some tiny flowers too! Finished with some sponge inking around the card too.

  • Tim Holtz - Leaf fragments dies and Funky Floral #3 dies
  • Sizzix - Leaf embossing folder w/inking on some leaves
  • Tim Holtz - Small talk sticker sentiment

Pressed leaves

A few of us girls in our cardmaking group were talking about pressing leaves, a few weeks back. I went for a walk a couple days later and found some freshly fallen leaves that were in very good shape on the road so I picked them up, came home and washed them off, they were a little dirty and laid them on a paper towel, well things got busy and I totally forgot that I laid them out, when I came back they were so dry and a little brittle.  I decided to  spritz them with water and then put the leaves between two pieces of paper and ran it through my Gemini die cut machine.  I wasn't a big fan of the results it was very subtle so I just sat it aside.

Later I was making this card and had cut the die from a piece of background I had made using colorburst inks, I went looking for something I could use for the base of my card and I came upon this pressed leaves background and decided to use it, I sponged some distress inks on it.

  • Background made pressing leaves into the paper, then inked with Distress inks, crackling campfire, Ripe persimmon and Carved Pumpkin
  • Tutti Designs - Maple Vine Frame, cut from background made using colorbursts - Marigold, Peony and Naples Yellow
  • Simon Says stamps - You matter stamp and die set
You may be able to see the impression of the leaves in the background in this closeup, as you can tell I didn't have the leaves cleaned as well as I had hoped.

I would like to add this to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Make your own background

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
Have a wonderful week ahead!

Thankful with tree

Sharing more from the 49 and market once again.  This time I used a rather large piece of their ephemera that I cut down and use only a portion of it on the right side of the card, I inked the edges,  using the pattern paper for the left side.  I wanted to add a touch of color to the right side since it was all black and white and I was going through my supplies and found this rub on that was like a branch or tree portion with some leaves on it, when I held it up to the tree that was there it lined up pretty well so I rubbed it over the existing tree, also added some rub ons to the top of the piece, to the sentiment tag and the flowers on the bottom left corner. More of the acetate butterflies and a brad.

  • 49 and Market - In the leaves 12x12 paper, ephemera, rub ons and acetate butterfly
  • Basic Grey - Brad

I would like to add my card to the following challenges:

Just a note

A quick break from the Thanksgiving cards. This time I pulled out one of my old paper stacks that have great glitter paper and great card focals or toppers in them.  I needed a card for a friend going through surgery first. I added the sentiment stamp, ribbon, die cut bow and some pearl drops.

  • DCWV - The Wild Splendor paper
  • Gold Paint pen around the sentiment tag
  • Hero Arts - Everyday sayings stamp sentiment
  • Ribbon - Walmart
  • Liquid pearls - Copper
  • Tim Holtz - die cut bow

The Second card was for a birthday, I liked the flowers but wasn't sure about the words so colorful on the tag, then I thought of adding part of a sentiment stamp so that it would go along with that statement.

  • DCWV - Wild Splendor paper, inking around the card focal
  • Paper Smooches - Happy Birthday sentiment (Used part of the stamp)

Thankful

My card group had a new sketch challenge so I used that today to make my card, I should use sketches a lot more often.  More 49 and market, sorry I just love this stuff and had to take advantage while it is still Autumn. The main image is a rub on that I adhered to a scrap piece of the pad and matted it onto black.

  • 49 and Market - 6x8 in the leaves paper pack, In the leaves rub ons and sentiment
You are suppose to put the image direct center but I offset it because I didn't want to hide the butterfly in the paper.

I am sharing this card once again with Sisterhood of Crafters Give thanks challenge.

Thankful and Grateful

I have been working on some Thanksgiving cards, I will share them over the next week.

Playing with more of my 49 and Market goodies for this card.

  • 49 and Market - 6x8 In the leaves collection, In the leaves die cuts,  In the leaves PVC die cuts and In the leaves chipboard sticker for the little sentiment
They call the pieces PVC die cuts but to me they are printed acetate pieces, I used two leaves over the pretty paper and one of the butterflies.

Clear Pop dots work great behind them.

I am sharing today's card with the Sisterhood of Crafters Blog Give Thanks challenge.

In the Leaves

I am once again using my new papers for the background and some of the new rub ons in the top right and bottom left corners, this time adding a flower and leaves to it.  I used cardstock and pieces of left over backgrounds I had made to layer up the flower.  I decided to go with brown leaves instead of the traditional green.

  • Gemini - Dahlia double sided dies
  • Spellbinders - Decorative Labels 28 die
  • 49 and Market - In the leaves 12x12 papers and Rubon on transfers
  • Bo Bunny - Sentiment stamp with Faux stitching
The frame I used in the background was made by just cutting out the center of the card stock. As you can see the cardstock frame and some of the papers used for the flower had shimmer in them.

Fall colors

I think I use this stamp almost every year, I believe I purchased it either in 2012 or 2013. I have popped up all of the leaves that I fussy cut after stamping to give them more dimension.

I have inked around the whole card after stamping.  I added a couple dots here and there to add a little more interest to it.

  • Papertrey ink - Mighty Oak stamps
  • Penny Black - Sprinkles and smiles stamp

I am adding my card with the Retro Rubber Challenge Fall Colors

Precious

This image is just the sweetest thing, a little boy with his best friends enjoying the day.

I stamped and colored the image and then using a stencil added the clouds. This is for my young great nephew so the stamped sentiment with the stars I thought would work great.

  • Katy Sue designs - Simpler Times stamp, colored w/markers
  • My Favorite things - Cloud stencil w/Tumbled glass ink
  • Hero Arts - Fabulous Birthday stamp sentiment

I would like to share todays card with Time out Challenge which is Precious.

Fall Birthday

I broke out more of my new dies for todays card, I accidentally put the paper backgrounds I had made with various inks awhile back in the cut and emboss folder backwards sometimes while cutting, so some of them are embossed and others are debossed but hubby said it looked cool either way so I went with them.

  • Tim Holtz - Oak Leaf cut and emboss folder and Small Tattered Florals die (branch) and Funky Foliage dies ( flower)
  • Cardmaking Magic - Birthday Verses sentiment stamp
  • Punched circles with Nuvo Crystal glaze on top

Anniversary

My Hubby and I recently celebrated our Anniversary, sharing my card first.

He was a little bummed because we usually do fall themed cards since we were married in the fall but I went with the tags and toppers in these sets that said what I wanted to say instead, but he said he still liked it :)

  • Graphic 45 - Woodland Friends collection - Die cut assortment (tag with bunny and leaves)
  • Craft consortium - Wood Texture papers
  • Hearfelt Creations - Woodsy Wonderland collection - Green tag and Loye you tag
  • Making Memories - Leaf Brad
  • Mark Richards - Mosiac Stickers

My hubby drew my whole card and colored in with pencils. He added some leaf punches to the tree.

Isn't that cool, I love the layered pumpkin man, the spider web coming off of the plant in the corner, that tree has such personality and the leaves were a cool touch.

We have enjoyed another great day so it was more yard work, getting ready for winter, my body can feel it but it is so good to get things done while it is still nice out.
