Power Poppy had a sale a few weekends ago and I bought the set of Digi's they had on sale. This image was my favorite of the four. Now I printed it out in a soft brown, trying to go for a more no line coloring, and if you have noticed this is like the 3rd or 4th time I have tried this technique on cards, thinking I just need practice, not sure what I am doing wrong but this may be my last try, I just wasn't happy with the results but once again I am running behind and needed to get it out in the mail, so I had to go with it.
I wish when I was in school I would have taken some art classes, maybe that would have helped with my cardmaking, but instead I took cooking (which I don't really like to do) sewing and needlework classes, which I enjoy but I do more cardmaking now.

This is such a beautiful card, Connie. Your coloring is so wonderful! Love the new look of your blog too :)
ReplyDeletei think you're too hard on yourself as it is really pretty in my eyes!
ReplyDeletei love the ribbon through it also as it makes for a sweet sentimental touch!
Best wishes!
ooooh this one is so pretty and colorful, nothing "wrong" in my eyes!! lovely flowers and butterfly, i think the colors you choose are perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card, Connie, and I agree that you shouldn't be too hard on yourself and not give up. I still struggle with no-line coloring, and it's hard. So keep on practicing. It's beautifully done, and I love the colors you've used along with the beautiful die. It's going to be loved dearly. Wishing you a beautiful day and weekend, sweet friend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely! I agree with the others that you are doing well with the coloring. I feel the same way, though. I have trouble with no line coloring too.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, Connie, I don't see anything wrong with this. It's beautiful and I like the colors you chose. We are our worst critics. When I make a card for the DRU DT, sometimes I don't like the card and feel terrible about posting it, but then it gets tons of likes when I post it in some cardmaking groups on FB. So you never know; that's what makes us all unique and our cards unique. You color a heck of a lot better than I do. I am very heavy handed.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful stamp and I think you colored it well. The die is just gorgeous with that background paper.
ReplyDeleteI have all but given up on the no line coloring. I have tried different techniques for it and never get a result that I think looks right.
TFS!
You are one creative and talented card maker♥
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful prairie bouquet! Nothing that lovely and delicate would grow here! Very pretty, Connie! hugs, de
ReplyDeleteI think it looks beautiful, Connie. You're being way too hard on yourself. My first few times didn't turn out so great, probably not this good. No-line takes a lot more time, too, so that adds to the frustration. I printed this digi, but haven't colored it yet. Looks like it takes a lot of coloring. You're brave to do it in pencils. Your card has such a lovely, feminine look to it.
ReplyDeleteNEVER give up! Shame on you for even thinking that! This is a beautiful card using a beautiful digi, I fell in love with it too, but I am kind of afraid of digis lol BUT I'm working on that! I love the cluster of these flowers and your pretty coloring as well as that pretty background! Looks great from here, you silly girl! xo~
ReplyDeleteWell your card looks great to me.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you've chosen.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend too.
Here in the UK I'm hoping the weather will be kind and we can enjoy an Autumnal walk.
All the best Jan
It looks like a lovely piece of vintage embroidery, Connie.
ReplyDeletePlease take up watercolour painting sometime! I know you could do it.
