I was having troubles thinking on what to do for my great nephew turning 18, so I just went searching through all my stuff trying to find something that would give me inspiration and I was going through my basket of all these things I have made in the past and never used and I starting pulling things out that would kind of go together.
The very bottom background I believe was a stencil that I off set and used two different blues. The next blue layering I believe was those powder colors that you shake out and add water too. The main image is an ATC I did years ago and I used stencils and stamping with a bit of stickles, it felt like it needed a little more so I added the wooden bird.
It is a bit different then my usual type of cards but I guess it is nice to get out of the same old, hope he liked it.
- Artist trading card as focal, using stamps and stencils
- Fiskars - rounded corner punch
- Stencil for background
- Tim Holtz - Metallic sticker book (sentiment)
- Hobby Lobby - wooden bird
What a fabulous way to bring all those background pieces together! I love it! The bird is the perfect finish. It absolutely looks like it belongs there!
ReplyDeleteI just love how this turned out!! I think sometimes we can get most creative when we're using scraps and odds and ends up. This is such a cool card - he'll love it. ❤️
ReplyDeleteLots of fun going on here. I like the pop of yellow. The swirl background looks nice with the two-tones. Your nephew is going to love this.

ReplyDeleteGreat mixed media birthday card.....how cool to 'shop' from your very own stash lol I have been in my craft room for the past 2 days organizing....it will never end, don't tell anyone, but I have too much stuff--and more on the way. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteGreat masculine card, Connie xoxo
ReplyDeleteYour "Believe in Daydreams" card is fantastic! The layered backgrounds with stencils, powder colors, and the ATC main image come together beautifully. The addition of the wooden bird is a delightful touch. I'm sure your great nephew will love this unique and creative card!
