I am not sure if 11 years old is considered Preteen or not but my great nephew is turning 11, going into junior high, it's amazing to see my nephews kids growing so fast. I have had this stamp for quite some time, thought it was neat in the store and then got home and thought what was I thinking, I won't be able to color that, but you see this stamp has a nice color photo on the front for you to go by and I almost copied the coloring exactly. If I would have came up with my own coloring I don't know if I would have done as well.
He fills up almost the whole card so it was hard to think of what to do with him but since he is a steam punk kind of kid I thought I would go with gears but then found a bit of fun sentiment to go with it.
Lala land Crafts -- World Traveler Luka stamp colored w/markers
Inkadinkado - All occasions sentiment stamp
Taylored Expressions -- Sprokets dies
Ki -- metal accents
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
Connie

This is such a fun card, Connie. Time passes by much too quickly doesn't it.
ReplyDeleteTotally preteen! GREAT (mini) masculine card! lol I love that image and the way you colored him--PERFECT! The addition of the Party Time sentiment and the gears just tie this all together! So FUN!!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is adorable, my friend! I love how unique and original your creations are :) Enjoy this last day of August. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card, Connie. Love your coloring and those gears. I'm sure your nephew will appreciate it a lot :)
ReplyDeleteA clever use of the 'time' theme because the cogs could be ones from a watch or clock ~ neat! Yes, I reckon 11 is pre-teen...kids grow up very quickly, as we know!
ReplyDeleteSuper card, I like the little accents. I also have trouble filling the card when the image takes up most of it. :O)
ReplyDeleteOh, Connie, given how quickly the kids today are growing up, I think 11 qualifies for pre-teen! What an adorable little fella, and you've colored him to perfection! Wow! And I love the gears to add a steam punk feel - they really work with the fun sentiment! Handsomely done for your sweet great nephew! Love him, Connie, and I love it all! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLOL I have a few of those kind of stamps too and thank goodness for the colored image to follow ... I feel your pain! LOL You did an AWESOME job on this fabulous card and I know it will be appreciated! Awesome inspiration girlfriend ... thanks!

ReplyDeleteConnie, your coloring on this is amazing! You got your skin tones and shading just perfect. Love how leathery his hat looks. I'd say this is ideal for your nephew. The gears and the font of the sentiment are great with it, too.
