One of the girls in my stamp group and I were exchanging ideas of things we have found on you tube to try and this washi technique is one of them that my friend found, I had to give it a go. I will share the video HERE. I used washi tape I had boughten instead of making my own so if you want to start where she is actually using the washi tape fast forward to the 18:41 mark. I used a piece of real busy pattern paper for my base. I will have to say that I used some shiny washi tape and when I went to die cut it didn't work so well, so just keep that in mind, some of mine ended up peeling right off, the pieces on this bird actually stayed.

Here is the many birds and butterflies I cut from my backgrounds I made with torn washi tapes.

What a great idea for using the washi tape, as long as it doesn't tear, but you ended up with quite a few fabulous pieces. You know I love the birds. A perfect setting for the bird on your card. Pretty!
ReplyDeletea really cute card. i am sure the little birds and butterflies will come in handy in the future!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an intriguing idea and a great way to use washi tape. I have so much of it sitting in a box, that hardly ever gets used. Your card is so pretty and you now have lots of birds to play with.

ReplyDeleteSuch a clever and inspiring use of washi tape—your bird design is full of charm and texture. The mix of dies and ephemera adds so much personality, and I love that you now have a whole flock of birds and butterflies ready for future creations. This technique looks like a blast to try.
