Heal Well

My friends husband was recently in the hospital and has a long road of recovery in front of him, so I wanted to send him this card to let him know he continues to be in our prayers.

Heidi shared HERE, how she used the new Distress Oxide's to stamp on colored cardstock, and I just thought the results was so neat that I had to give it a try myself.  I used Walnut stain on kraft with this card, my hubby even loved the results.  Since the image was so dark I tried to go a bit lighter with my papers.

Here is a closeup of the stamping. Inked up the stamp and then sprayed with water and then stamped. I let the stamp sit on the cardstock for a little longer than I normally do to make sure I got a good stamp.

Inkadinado -- Fall trees Silhouette stamp
Spellbinders -- Lg. Deckled Rectangles and A2 matting basics A dies
Distress Oxide - Walntu stain ink
g.c.d, - Funhouse papers
Words to the rescue -- Get well sentiment stamp
Martha Stewart -- border punch

Thanks so very much for all your sweet comments and sharing your thoughts, I really do appreciate you taking the time out to stop by,

Connie

I've heard about the Distress Oxide inks, but don't know anything about them. I do know, however, that I love the effect on your card! You are a kind soul to always be thinking of others. I hope your friend's husband's recovery is thorough, even if it is a long time coming.

a beautiful card for a special man. i like the wording you use, instead of the traditional "get well soon"!!!

You have achieved a look that appears like it was hand painted and took hours to do......such a heart warming card for someone ill.

The effect on the trees is wonderful. It would really be great to use when doing steampunk things. Super cute!

I saw the card you gave to Linda, and it is so beautiful! Love the embossing on the front, and the faux quilting technique, it is definitely card art :) I haven't made cards for a while, although I have plenty of things to make them with. Maybe looking at your amazing cards will inspire me!

What a lovely masculine card! (can those two words be used in the same sentence if it's masculine?) Your friend is blessed to have you as a friend. <3
