Brother

We had our final goodbye to my Brother today sadness, memories, good laughs.  We have two great nieces are having babies, the cycle goes on, we lose precious family members and new are born.  Thankful for those memories we have of our loved ones to get us through this time of missing them so much.  Knowing he is in heaven with our heavenly Father in no more pain and can now sing praises once again sure gives my heart peace.

I will be back in a couple days with a new card to post, will continue to try and catch up with you all too. Thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers.

Hugs,

Connie

Strawberries

I am trying to make my way through the goodies I got in both my Advent calendars I bought this last year and I am getting close to using everything in my Spellbinders one, these sweet strawberries were in there.  I used my inks and a blending brush to color the strawberries.

Usually I take a side view of the card too, so you can see the dimension and the colors are usually more truer than my front on pictures but I had already sent this card when I realized I hadn't gotten a side view picture :(

  • Spellbinders Advent calendar 2023 - Strawberries, leaves and flowers dies, colored with ink using blending brush
  • Spellbinders - Infinity Punch & Pierce plate dies
  • Simon says stamps - Tiny words birthday sentiment stamp
  • Gems
Our strawberries are coming up right now here in Southern Illinois, so I will be adding this to the Four Seasons Challenge Spring

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Polka Dots

The flower outline die doesn't have a base to it so it would be see through and I just am not as much of a fan of that but I decided to trace the die form onto the back of some pattern paper and that will be the base for my flower.  There were no leaf die to go with it so I borrowed some from another set to go with it.

  • Die-Namites - Rosy Rose die, traced around die to get the polka dot background for the flower
  • P13 - Secret Garden paper for bottom portion
  • Paper Studio - Silkscreen embossing folder
  • Spellbinders - Rose Creations die (leaves) Labels trio die
  • Recollections - Gems
  • Gemini - Sentiment dies

I would like to share todays card with the following challenges:

Double D Challenge - Polka dots

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today, and for all your thoughts and prayers for my brother and our family.

Bouquet

I realized I hadn't made a card using this stamp from my Crafters companion advent calendar so I decided to give it a go for the next birthday card I needed.  I decided to try and match the colors in this paper and when it was all done I thought oh this would make a pretty Autumn card, but I needed it now so off it went :)

  • Crafter's Companion Advent calendar - Bouquet stamp, colored w/pencils and markers
  • Spellbinder - Lattice Rectangles die
  • Lawn Fawn - Fancy Scalloped Rectangle die
  • Paper Smooches - Happy Birthday sentiment stamp
  • Queen & Co. - Gems

Iris

My Iris were blooming at the time I made this card, I had remembered my hubby bought this cardmaking kit for me that has many different flowers in it, my friend I am giving this too, loves flowers so I knew she would like it and she did :)

  • Make Market - Diamond Art kit Flowers
  • Gemini - Sentiment die
  • Spellbinders - Labels Trio die

The base is fabric instead of cardstock, so it is a bit flimsy, I was afraid of glue seeping through so I added scor tape to my card base and then added the topper and it seems to be holding well.

I would like to share my card today with the following challenges:

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today, things are still quite busy right now so still behind on blogs.  My brother has just gone into hospice, so I don't know how much I will be able to catch up but I will stop by soon :)

Time bring Peace

My brother in law lost his Dad recently and I had previously watched some videos from Jill from Penny Black on using their stencils to frame stamps and thought that might be a nice touch for this sympathy card. I also used a tree stamp that I stamped in a couple colors of green for the leaves and stamped again with brown for the trunk. Then I realized there was branches within the leaves so I went over them with my brown fine line sharpie.

  • Penny Black - Background Basics Stencil pack, using Old Paper distress ink
  • Crafter's Companion - Advent calendar 2022, Tree stamp
  • Sentiment stamp

I am sharing todays card with Simply Clean & Simple Challenge

For you

Oh my I saw this paper pack and assorted chipboard die cuts and I just had to have it, Blues have been really appealing to me lately.  I don't know if this was supposed to be a lamp post in the die cuts but I thought some pretty flowers hanging from it would be nice, and I added the bunch of birds with the sentiment piece.

  • Stamperia - Blue Land 8x8 paper and Chipboard die cuts

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful weekend,

Sympathy

I am sad to say that the gentleman from our church that I made the card for on my April 21st post has passed away.  I knew things were getting worse but didn't realize they were as bad as they were, we had just seen him a couple weeks before I sent the card.

I can't find the card that gave me inspiration for this card but the card had an opening with flowers and  that reminded me of this card blank I had from an early card that I didn't mean to cut the hole in the card and thought that it would work for this card.  I added a piece of one of my backgrounds I had made on my gel print plate to the inside so that it shown through the hole.

  • Tim Holtz - Wildflowers Stem #1 dies
  • Background using stencil on my gel plate
  • ODBD - Scripture Collection 2 sentiment stamp

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
