Cat Love

When we went home to Michigan , we stopped by my sister in laws house also and they have 3 cats.  Their oldest was 19 and she had bad Arthritis and didn't get up much the day we went to visit but she looked good.  Well the day we arrived back home their sweet cat passed away, after just losing our little Anna I so understood the pain they were in.  They had asked questions about Anna's passing and our niece started crying thinking of the time when their cat would pass, so I knew they needed some encouraging.

I cut a couple of these out from my Silhoutte thinking I would use them for Birthday cards but thought it worked well for this time also.

Silhoutte -- Cut out
Basic Grey -- Lilykate paper

We still haven't caught up on yard work yet, spring always seems to be busy. But we are still enjoying nice temps.

I have a question about google + ,  if you join, is your blog automatically that way for comments.  I don't like when I go to someone that has google + and I can't comment on their blog.  I want to be able to comment on their blog but I don't want my blog to be like that and people have trouble commenting on my blog... does any of that make sense, LOL!  Appreciate any help with that.

Hope your week has been good where you are,
Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think,

Button Flowers

I found the link for the directions of these flowers on Pinterest and thought they were very cute, this is my first and only try and at making them and I don't think it turned out too bad.  Some tips I found useful is make sure the holes in your buttons are fairly big, you won't be able to use tiny buttons.  You also will need a very small hook and thin crochet cotton.  When my mother in law passed away she had alot of this thin crochet thread left and my sister in law gave it all to me, so I can make quite a few of these :)  The directions for English is all the way at the end of the posting so you will have to scroll down.  Here is the link to the flower tutorial .

I am sharing this post over at Stepahnie's Roses of Inspiration .  If you have time there are so many interesting blogs to check out.

DCWV -- Linen Closet paper

Birthday Delight

For my great niece that is now a teenager :)  Have you ever had this happen, I had finished coloring the cat and went on to color other portions of the card, decided to go back and add a little brown to the cat and as you can see it messed up a bit. That sad thing is I didn't really notice it until I had the whole card put together.  I was using Spectrum noir pens.  I had this happen to me before but noticed it right away, it like takes a way the other coloring or moves it around, I don't know, but instead of trying to rip it off and start over I just left it alone.

Inky Antics -- Birthday Delights stamp, colored w/markers
g.c.d. -- Funhouse papers
Spellbinders -- Label 18
Martha Stewart -- border punch
Recollections -- Button Brads

We are having rain all day today, but it didn't stop me from heading to my Local Stamp store that was having a Yard Sale, bought some used stamps, embossing folders and one pad of paper, even though I told myself I need to use the papers I have before buying anymore.

Hope your having a nice weekend whatever the weather.

Thanks so much for stopping by and letting me know you did,

100 Years

Wow can you imagine living to be 100 years old, especially at this time, so much has changed over these last 100 years.  A friends Aunt has turned 100 and she asked if the girls in our group would like to make her a card, and so this is what I came up with.  I was hoping to have a plant pick coming out of the bouquet with 100 on it but it looked to big with the flowers so I added it to the pot instead.

Spellbinders -- Flower pots, Foliage and Back to basics tags dies
Heartfelt Creations -- Delicate Asters die
Taylored Expressions -- Whimsy #'s die and Many minis Occasions stamp set
BasicGrey -- Lilykate paper
Pearl Pen -- Bronze (flower centers)
Close to my heart -- Brad on tag

We had a touch of frost last night so I had to go out and cover my peppers I planted a couple days ago.  Hopefully we will have warmer nights from here on out.  Usually we are complaining it goes from winter to summer here way to fast but this year we are having some lower than normal temps.

Hope the weather where you are isn't too cold or snowy.  My family in Michigan said they had a touch of snow, you just never know.

I have a family of rabbits in our yard and I managed to finally capture a good picture of one last night that didn't run away, as soon as I figure out how to get the picture off my phone, LOL, I will share it with you all, they are just so tiny.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and letting me know you stopped by,

Baby Girl

Good Morning, I missed last weeks link up since I was out of town visiting family, but I am back today to share a card I made for a friends baby shower.  I am linking it with Stephanie's Roses of Inspiration .  Stop by her blog and check out all the great posts :)

I went vintage with this card since the Momma is in her 40's. Just love these vintage images!

Easter Eggs

Yep your eyes aren't deceiving you, I made up some Easter eggs the other day.  Wanted to get them packed away in my Easter decorations, so when next year comes around I will remember that I have more I can make up.  I saw on Tim Holtz's Blog a little while ago a video tutorial on how to do these eggs, his are a bit darker than mine, but I do love the way his turned out too.  He talked about Hobby Lobby having white eggs so after Easter when I went there they had them 50% off so I just had to pick them up and decided to do just a couple.

I think next year I will try to combine a few more colors and maybe even add some gold or silver metallics too.  I saw on another blog where they used the colored eggs and added the Alcohol inks over them, so if you don't have the white ones you could try the colored ones.

Just thought I would share in case you didn't see Tim's post :)

Have a great week,

Belated

I didn't get to this card for my great nephew in time before we left for our reunion so it was a quick one so that I could get it out in the mail and it wouldn't be too late.  I just recently had cut out some more of the phones from my Silhoutte for just this reason, they make quick teen cards I think, although he is turning 19 this year.

Silhoutte cameo -- phone
SRM stickers -- happy birthday sentiment
K&co. -- paper
Silver metallic marker
Paper Studio -- gem stones

I had my follow up appointment yesterday for my eyes, I still need to wear glasses and have a prescription for that eye, and that is fine with me as long as I can see with glasses I am a happy girl.  I have been quite busy around here and while we were gone the yard grew by leaps and bounds so will be busy outside quite a bit as well as inside, but I will get to all your blogs and visit soon.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Thanks so much for stopping by,

Family

Good Morning!!  I have been away since last Friday.  We went home to Michigan to see our family, I forgot to get pictures with my hubby's side but I thought I would share a picture of my siblings.  My oldest brother hosted this years get together and we met at a hotel in Southern Michigan.  We were hoping to be able to hang out around the pool and have a day off fun together but the pool was down for repairs.  They let us use their meeting room for 4 hours so we could all be together in one room so that was nice.  So sad not everyone could come but when you have a large family it is hard for everyone to be able to get away, 21 couldn't make it.

Here is a picture of all of us that could make it.

I think of everyone made it we wouldn't have gotten everyone in one picture.
Lastly one of me and the hubby alone.

I am so thankful that we all still can get together at least once a year and get caught up on each other and enjoy just being together.

I have no cards made at the time and in fact I am behind, will have to make at least one belated birthday card.  Hope to get sometime to get that done soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope your having a wonderful week!

Lattice and Jasmine Frame

This one goes out to my girlfriend and crafting buddy.  I saw on a video not to long ago someone cutting out a sentiment out of foam and adding it to their card, I have looked all over do you think I can find it anywhere.  If you happen to see this video also, could you please share where you saw it and I can pass that on and give credit to that person.  I cut the sentiment out with white cardstock also and colored it with markers the same colors I used on the framing, and glued it to the foam sentiment.

Spellbinders -- A2 matting basics A die
Memory Box -- Jasmine Frame die colored w/markers
PaperStudio -- A2 Lattice Circles embossing folder, inked the folder to color the background pink
Elizabeth Craft designs -- Happy Birthday sentiment die
Recollections -- Iridescent gems
Flower Ribbon

The embossing folder reminded me of a quilted look.  Bought this ribbon and embossing folder at the same time and thought they would look pretty together.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, Love hearing what you think,

Extraordinary

This will be going to my great niece turning 10 this year!  Hopefully it is a style she likes.  I used card quotes from hot off the press and used chalk on them to bring some color and some inking around the edges of the die.

Here is a look at the inside, I usually hand write my sentiments inside but these card quotes have outside and inside quotes.

Hot off the press -- cardmakers birthday card quotes
Spellbinders -- A2 distressed edges, A2 matting basics B and Labels 29 dies
K&co. -- Color Basics radiant mat pack
Buttons -- Yard Sale
Me&my big ideas -- gems (button centers)

We are getting a lot of storms with some light flooding, but lovely warm temps to have the doors open, Love to hear the birds chirping and letting the fresh air in. Hope you are enjoying some good spring weather too!

Sweet

I am linking up once again at Stephanie's Roses of Inpsiration . This card just happened to go to Stephanie who just celebrated her birthday last week.  I wish I would have taken a side view of it now, I made it, took a couple of pictures and then got it out in the mail so I never in looked at the pictures I took before I mailed it out.  This is a side step card, the left side sets back a little farther than the right side. I used my silhoutte to cut out the base of the card.

I paper pieced the mason jar, stamped the lid on a different piece of paper from that pack. The flowers were also stamped on another piece of paper from this paper set and I fussy cut them all out. The stems of the flowers were stamped directly onto the paper.  I added a little bit of ink to the doily under the jar, to antique it a little bit, was just too white for me :)

Silhoutte Cameo -- Card base
Rasberry Road design -- paper
Recollection -- stamp set (sorry no name on the set but it was purchased at Michaels)
Spellbinders -- Delicate doiles die
Stickles -- Scattered straw (flower centers)
Recollections -- Pearl (on tag)
Lace

You can head over to Stephanie's blog and check out the rest of the links and scroll down to the next post to see how she spent her birthday :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, I really love hearing from you,

He is Risen!

He is RISEN indeed!!!

I hope you all enjoyed a Joyous day of celebrating our Risen Lord and Savior yesterday!

My hubby was sick on Saturday and when I woke up Sunday morning not feeling right I prayed oh just let me get through this morning. I coordinate and get all the communion around for church plus I had Sunday morning office duty and although I wasn't up to my normal self, I made it through the service. While putting away all the communion supplies after I started feeling bad and when I got home it really hit me, so my hubby made us a quick lunch and I fell asleep after and slept most of the day on and off and all night. Don't know what I had but it really zapped all my energy.  So that is why I am posting this late.

My hubby made another one of his creations using squares so I told him I would like to share it on this post.  It measures 3 3/4 " square.  While at Walmart I found these little easels, so I bought a couple  to display his little works of art.

You're so sweet

Another card made from my scrap bin. The embossing on the background was a failed attempt at cutting out this die from thick watercolor paper, at the time I was bummed it didn't work, through it in my scrap bin and tried again with cardstock, then going back I thought it would be a nice subtle background.

Anna Griffin -- background die
Spellbinders -- Decorative Labels one and Delicate Asters dies
Tim Holtz --  flower die (for small flowers)
Martha Stewart -- Leaves punch (I embossed some veins in them)
Stickles -- Vintage photo (flower centers)
Sentiment -- cardmaking and papercrafts magazine

May you all be blessed with a Wonderful Easter as we Celebrate our Risen Lord!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, I appreciate you letting me know too :)

For your Kindness

Hello, I hope your enjoying this spring, our weather here has been very nice, after such a cold winter it is always nice to be able to get out of the house and enjoy the outside.

I am sharing a thank you card today, my scrap bin of items that didn't work on other cards is starting to get full, so I am challenging myself to go there and use some of those bits up before I cut any more paper.

Spellbinders -- Fancy Lattice, Resplendent rectangle and Flower Bouquet dies
Sentiment was free from Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazine
