Stained Glass window

I have been seeing a few cards here lately sharing arched window cards, Esther has done quite a few of them lately just need to scroll through her blog.  I have 3 different kinds and I picked the most ornate one to use on my card today. I added a piece of flowery paper behind it and then vellum on top of that to give it more of a stained glass look.

  • Poppystamps - Gothic Stained Glass die, Advent Calendar Flowers, sentiment stamps and Foliage stencils
  • Tim Holtz - Feathered Friends die
  • P13 - Secret Garden paper
  • flower pattern paper behind vellum in window

I would like to share my card with the Triple B Challenge.

My next card is for a recycle challenge, I used a tissue box for my background. The flower I added is a punch, to give it more dimension I used a stylus on a foam mat to put the details in the flower. Added some stickles to the center.

  • Tissue Box - Background
  • McGill - Dogwood punch, added score marks with stylus
  • All night media - little flower punch
  • Stickles - Eucalyptus

Roses and Peony

I needed a get well for my longest friend, she is going through some rough times right now.  I went with this flower because I really love it! The background die has roses so I thought it would be a pretty combo. I put some pattern paper behind the die cut background and inked and colored the tag that goes with the background die set and stamped the sentiment.

  • Gemini - Peony die
  • Spellbinders - Tudor Rose Card front die
  • My Mind's eye - Quite contrary paper
  • ODBD - mini tag sentiments stamp

So Old

Our friend just turned 60 and I saw this sentiment that said "Your so old if you were milk I would sniff you first". I used that one on hubby's card too, so I had to use it on our friends but with his card I used the cat image thought it went better with the sentiment that is inside :) I highlighted the embossing and the wood floors with a bit of inking.

  • Tim Holtz - Cat Chat, stamps colored w/markers, dies and embossing folder
  • Penny Black - Wood Floors die

I would like to share my card today with Can you handle the pressure Challenge

I am so excited it is going to get above freezing this week and we will have rain instead of snow.

Lattice card

Do you remember THIS CARD I made last month, well that was my second attempt, I had used lighter cardstock on my first attempt and it was just not standing up nicely, so I put it aside, well I went back to it and wondered if I reinforced the middle would that help?  It did a little so I decided to cut enough pieces to put on the back of each of those split rails and see if that helped and that did the trick, so I went ahead on embellishing the rest of the card, I actually love the way it turned out, so case in point to not give up on those cards that were at first bombs.

  • P 13 - Secret Garden papers and sentiment
  • Tim Holtz - Wildflower Stems #1 die
  • Distress inks - Gathered Twigs, Forest Moss, Bundled Sage, Fossilized Amber and Dusty Concord

I would like to share my card today with the Triple B Challenge

We had two days above freezing and now we are back into the teens during the day and single digits at night.  Update on hubby this morning he woke up saying he feels much better, still sounds congested though, he has lost a lot of his hearing so he will call the doctor on Monday if it is still that way and the coughing isn't as frequent. Luckily I am still doing ok :)

Hope you all have a great weekend,

Sending Hugs

You may remember this stamp, I used it in This Post . I am using it again today but for a get well card this time, it seems everyone is getting sick lately. When I was doing the last card I just couldn't get a good all over stamp of the image even with my Misti, so I grabbed another piece and that one worked fine, and this one had been sitting on my desk ever since, so when I needed a get well card I just chopped off the part of the stamp that wouldn't stamp well and just used the portion of the stamp.

  • Memento - Lot 7019 stamp set, colored w/markers
  • Memory Box - Stitched Rectangle layers die
  • PPD - Stitched Postage Rectangles die

I am a bit behind on visiting blogs, my hubby caught what we think is Covid, it is acting the same way as last time he got it. So far I am doing pretty good, but just have been busier than normal, so hope to catch up soon :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

    Stencil Christmas

This was a layered stencil in the Spellbinders Advent Calendar 2023. My first time using a layered stencil so I thought I would try it out first on some pattern paper scrap I had.  I ended up liking it so I stamped a sentiment in the center.  I first did the branch then the leaves and finished off with the berries, using my distress inks and a finger dauber to apply the ink..

    • Spellbinders - Advent Calendar 2023 Stencil
    • Distress inks - lumberjack plaid, Forest Moss, Gathered Twigs
    • Diamond Press - Happy Holidays sentiment stamp
Then I tried another on just plain cardstock, added a bow to the center and a diecut sticker. It is a gold sticker but you can see my red point and shot camera in the reflection.

    Masculine

The last challenge I had on New Years day was to make a masculine card, I went with this stamp, that I colored with markers. I used an embossing folder for my background which I inked the raised edges.

    • ODBD - Living water stamps, colored w/markers
    • Cuttlebug - Forest Branches embossing folder

    Botanical

I am sharing a couple more cards from our challenge day in my cardmaking group.

This first one was for a botanical challenge. I needed a get well card for a couple that both had surgeries just before Christmas.

    • Impression Obsession - Camellia Japonica stamp colored w/markers
    • Pinkfresh - Classic Edgers die
    • My sentiments exactly - Thinking of you sentiment stamp
    • Starform - Transparent glitter/gold stickers

This next one we were to do a one layer card, I chose a stencil to use. The holes on the flower centers were so small I was having such a hard time getting any ink through them even with my little daubers, so I took my fine line sharpie marker and filled in all those tiny holes with that.

    • Fun Stampers Journey - Flower power stencil
    • Stampendous - SSC1158 2012, sentiment stamp
I would like to share my card with the Stencil Fun Challenge

    Challenge day

On New Year Day my cardmaking group had Challenges every 3 hours to make a card with a theme a volunteer came up with for the group to try.  I had the second time slot of the day and my challenge to the group was to make a card using stickers. I was going through my stuff and trying to organize better and realized I had bought quite a few stickers at the dollar store over the year and thought I could challenge myself and the others to get out those stickers and use them on a card.

This card uses two sets of stickers from the dollar store, one is a thick dimensional flower and the others are all in gold.  The sentiment is also a sticker from a book I bought at Michaels last year.

    • Crafter's Square - Metallic flowers and gold leaves stickers (dollar store)
    • Recollections - Sticker book for sentiment
    • Our Daily Bread designs - Quarterefoil  die for background

This second card challenge was to make a New Years card, I went with using some dies and stamps from my Crafter's companion 2023 Advent calendar.

    • Crafter's companion 2023 Advent calendar - Banner, Balloons dies and string stamp
    • Stamps of Life - postmarks2stamp sentiment
    • Gems

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today, hope you are having a good start to your New Year!

    Good Cheer

I was a couple cards low this year so I made a couple more using a stamp and die set from one of my cardmaking magazine goodies.

This first one it had a log stamp in it and in one of the examples in the magazine it showed stamping a bunch of them to make a fence, so I had to give that idea a try :) I stamped a branch a few times in the corner and stamped a couple pinecones too. The bird is a die cut and I just tore some paper for the snow on the fence.

    • Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine- Have a holly jolly Christmas, stamps and dies
    • Torn edge for snow, Inking of background

This next one I used the branch stamp again for the left side and then a single branch stamp for the right side stamped twice to make a swag added the pinecone and bow dies to finish it off. I used a pattern paper for the bird this time.

    • Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine- Have a holly jolly Christmas, stamps and dies
    • Tim Holtz - Rose Washi tape (silver)

Happy New year to you all, wishing you a wonderful year ahead filled with so much Joy!!
