Birthday Wreath

Grapevine wreath die is from Memory box.  I cut it out twice in two tones of brown.

The sketch for this card is from MFTWSC60.

Simple Stories Generations paper pack

Flowers made from 3 different Martha Stewart punches.  The white centers punch from $ bin at Michaels. Gemstone centers. Leaf and border punches also Martha Stewart.

McGill pine branch punch.

Sizzix leaf die has been cut up.

Tab made using HOTP Paper Pizzaz Folder tabs template.

Yellow stickles for centers of some of the flowers.

Here is a little closer shot of the flowers.

Saturday night we had 3 storms go through here, one of them pelted us with egg size hail, luckily no damage to our truck but alot of people had their windshields broken from the hail.  We had a tornado warning and we saw the wall cloud coming toward us but it never touched down thank goodness.

Hope you all made it through any storms that went through.  We have rain in the forecast for every day this week, hoping none of them gets as bad as Saturdays was.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, and I appreciate your comments,
Connie

Get well soon

Image is from the K&co.  Die cut cardstock and vellum pack. Layered onto black cardstock.

Old paper and frayed burlap distress inks were used on the cardstock base.

I put the sentiment on the top left corner to try and balance out the flower that was already in the image. Hero arts all occasions messages stamped sentiment
Making memories wedding stamp set for the sentiment frame, layered on black cardstock

Recollections Lace on a roll in black

Black enamel Accents

Learned some things I can do to help with the pain, mainly stretching and have found some things I do that could be making the back pain worse, so my first appointment was a good one, will be doing more actual working out from now on.

Every day for the next week has a chance of rain, I think this is the coolest spring we have had since we moved here also, I guess I would rather have a little cooler than too hot.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Connie

Through him who gives me strength

I have need of a few uplifting cards for people at church who have gone through some major surgeries.
Through my cardmaking group the challenge for April is to make a card with flowers, now that is right up my alley, I love to do flowers :)

The main chipboard flower I found in a package at Michaels, in those bins that use to be $1 and are now $1.50.  I colored the embossed areas with Zig markers.  The EK success flowers were white cardstock that I also colored with the Zig markers and added a Gemstone from Forever in time.

Martha Stewart leaf punch

Fiskar border punch

G.C.D. studios Melody Ross designer collections paper pack

K&co. Life's little occasions verse sticker (the butterfly is part of it)

Having a sunny but very breezy day today, suppose to get up to 70 later, that would be nice :)

I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I have a muscle in my back that is very tight and needs some good stretching that is part of the pain in my back, I have some muscle relaxer and pain meds to take and I will start physical therapy on Thursday, Hopefully this means I will soon be making cards again without being in pain :)

Hope you all are enjoying a wonderful week,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Recollections Bling on a Roll

We have had more rain go through, one good thing is I haven't had to water the garden, God has been taking care of that for me lately :)  The moles have also decided that it would be nice to dig around in there.  I have a fence up to keep the rabbits out and the moles are getting in there from underneath.... you just can't beat the critters can you.

Hope you all have enjoyed your weekend,

Garden of happy wishes

I was having a hard time with this card, I had picked out designer paper, had the sentiment and framing stamped out and the bird, but just wasn't happy with it.  My hubby came into the room and said the colors are all wrong that's the problem, he pulled out some scrap sheets of cardstock and said this is what you need to use, so I found the same color in the card base I used and it was his idea to emboss the background and add the flower punch at the bottom.  I originally had flower paper for the background.

DCWV card base was embossed with Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls embossing folder, then sanded.
Sentiment framing and bird are all from Darcie Stamps (JCS149)
Martha Stewart border punch (flowers) colored the flowers with marker
Fiskar border punch (grass)

This isn't quite the color scheme I would have went for and it is strange for me not to have at least a small piece of designer paper on a card, but it is growing on me :)

Hope you all made it safely through the storms that went through the country this past weekend. We had strong thunderstorms with heavy winds but other than that all is good.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and have a GREAT week!

Puffy flowers

This card is going to my Great Niece who is turning 7.

My mind's eye Quite Contrary papers
The sentiment and the paper flowers are from the same paper pack, I added white Signa pen details to the paper flowers to match the felt flower.  Also added some making memories buttons to the paper flowers.

Paper Studio pink Mulberry paper

The felt flower is from Ki memores and is called puffies, they are stuffed and have stitching around the edges as well as the button.

I thought it needed a bit more bling so I added Stampendous Class A Peel stickers to the sentiment tag and to some of the flowers in the paper.

Here is a side view to see the bling stickers a little better.

We had rain yesterday, thunderstorms last night and another this morning.  I think my newly planted green peppers and my strawberries are getting plenty of water.
My daughter and son in law are coming down here for the day, can't wait to see them!
Hope you all have good plans for the weekend,
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Connie

Finished

I was able to finish the rest of the thank you's I needed to make.

Had out the same paper pack from the cardmaking and papercrafts magazine so I used it on the first two cards also.
Martha Stewart punch around the page punch set and little scalloped circle punch (sentiment)
The bigger scalloped circle I am not sure where that is from it was in my stash of stuff I didn't end up using on another card, I inked it with distress ink. Piercing around the scallops
Fiskar corner rounder punch for the calendar image

On this calendar image I cut it out with Spellbinder circle die and then mounted it onto a Floral doily motifs die.
sentiment punch out with Martha stewart punch

This last one is for a young man in our congregation who is always willing to help and such a sweet heart.  The image is off of a kleenex box, I cut it out with the spellbinder Classic Rectangles Lg die
Paper is DCWV Travel scrapbooking kit stack
Martha Stewart punch for sentiment

These images are great for when you are in a hurry but I really need some stamp therapy too :)
I was able to go to my craft night last night, although I didn't sit the whole time, so things are improving YAH!!!
Hope your enjoying a Beautiful sunny day where you are,
Thanks so much for stopping by,

Thank you

I was put in charge of the food at our Easter Eggstravaganza at Church this past Saturday, we fed a little less than 200 people, and as you can imagine that can't happen by yourself. I was in need of some thank you notes to those people that helped out, to make it a success.
I was only able to make two cards today, my sciatic nerve is just not cooperating with me still but with the help of using calendar images from the back of the calendars, I was able to get two made!

The paper was free with the Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazine,
Spellbinder lacy square and Big scalloped circles large dies
Martha Stewart leaf punch
Piercing along the brown strip

Paper from same pack as above
Spellbinder scalloped squares small die
Martha Stewart scalloped circle punch for sentiment
Ribbon from Michaels

The sentiments were in a box of thank you notes to make

Hoping to feel up to making the rest tomorrow, but we will see.

Hope your all enjoy a great start to your week,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

Good Friday

I wanted a couple of quick cards and found these stickers in my calendar scrapbook stickers.

The card base is DCWV cards.
Basic Grey Origins strip of paper
Spellbinder Romantic Rectangles die for around image and top
Impression Obsession sentiment stamp
Offray ribbon

DCWV card base
Basic Grey Two scoops paper strip
Spellbinders Labels twenty-three

The following was sent in an email from our pastor today and thought I would share:

Today, he who hung the earth upon the waters

is hung upon the cross.

He who is King of the angels is arrayed in a crown of thorns.

He who wraps the heavens in clouds

is wrapped in a robe of mockery.

He who healed the lame with his touch

receives blows to his face.

The Bridegroom of the Church is pierced with nails.

The perfect Son of God assumes all our sin

and suffers our death.

Thank you all for stopping by today,
Connie
