Caning

I just love these Martha Stewart punch around the page punches.  This one is called Caning Pattern.

I used K&co. paper for the punching and the the background piece.

Inkadinkado Garden Flowers stamp set for the flower and cut it out.  I colored it with pencils and added Stickles to the center.

The sentiment is a Anita Stamp, cut out with Spellbinders dies of  Lacey circles. Bronze Pearl pen under sentiment.

Spellbinder Foliage die.

Thank you for all the get well wishes.  I think ever since I had Bronchitis, whenever I do get a cold I get it good.  Since my husband hasn't caught it he thinks I might have allergies but I know this is a cold.  It has been making it's way through the church.

I was told not all my cards sold but she isn't sure how many was left, if I make it to Ladies Bible study tonight I should find out how many were left.

Well we got below freezing last night, thank goodness that storm had allready went through or we would have gotten some snow, I am just not ready for that.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Have a GREAT day,

Mulberry Paper Rose

I started this card off with the Martha Stewart Punch around the page die and the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady paper and tag.

The flowers in the paper reminded me of those paper thin wild roses, and I thought well maybe I can make one of those, so I took Paper Studio mulberry paper and cut it out with Spellbinder Big Scalloped Circles Lg.  I did this card awhile ago so I am trying to think how many layers I did but I think it was 2-3 of each of the three smallest size dies.  Then I misted them with some Tattered Rose Glimmer mist and then crunched them all up, let them sit for awhile and then careful pulled them apart, layered them and put the brad through the center and scrunched again, I was pretty happy with the results. Added some Martha Stewart leaf punch, which I did some embossing on to make veins.

Hand stitching around the punched out piece and added some Lemon Yellow Liquid Pearls to the center.

Well one step forward and two steps back is how I feel this morning, I was able to get a few things done yesterday but still thought it was a pretty easy day, but this morning I woke up feeling yucky again, I keep telling myself that they say these colds last anywhere from 7-10 days so maybe this one is just going to last 10 days, today is the 7 day mark.

I NEED to get groceries, so my hubby said this evening he would go with me, so no craft night with the ladies tonight.  :-(

I hope you all are doing well, and didn't get too much snow, we were lucky here and it went just around us, although my hubby is bummed he wants snow for some reason.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Alien Birthday

Image is from the Print Artist CD
Framed it with the Spellbinder Inverted Scalloped Square
I thought this K&co. paper worked great for sky
Studio G sentiment
The star is from the same package that my sister sent me, I added yellow stickles to it to give it some shine

I didn't make it through church yesterday, I took some medicine to hopefully keep me from coughing and sneezing and it hit me like a ton of bricks, so I don't know how well my cards went over at the sale, will let you know when I hear.

Still trying to get better, boy this cold really hit me hard.  Yesterday all I did after coming home from church is just lay on the couch and I slept on and off all day and then was still able to go to bed last night and sleep a whole night, that is really unusual for me.

Today is all cold and gloomy, makes me want to just go back to bed, but I should try to get a little bit accomplished today, and see how I do.

Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing weekend,

Paper Pieced Pumpkins

Pumpkins are a studio G stamp and I used orange scraps to paper piece it.
Spellbinder Label 8 die
g.c.d. studios Loverly paper pack
Fiskar border punch
Felt flowers were cut out with a cuttlebug flower die and I added a bit of hand stitching to them

Today is our last day with the kids they are going back today to get ready for the week ahead.  My daughter has alot of big things coming up in the next couple of weeks.

Since I still don't have my energy level back up and still can't talk very well we watched a couple of movies and played some Tetris Party on the Wii yesterday.  No one here got out into all that Black Friday mess, but we have to go to the shoe store today and get my Son in law some shoes and my Daughter is deciding if she wants her Birthday meal out today or wait for when she comes home around New years, I sure hope it still won't be too crazy out there, not sure I am up to it yet.

Hope you all enjoy a good weekend,

Clay tiles

My husband Greg had decided he wanted to try making tiles out of  Sculpey Clay.  He did a little work with clay quite a few years ago but never tiles.  This is his first attempt, might as well go big huh :)

He started with a box he found at Hobby Lobby that had a top perfect for laying tiles into.  He rolled all the clay by hand and says he might like to get a pasta machine if he does these much more, he just couldn't achieve the same height in them all.  He raided some of my stamps to make the impressions and some charms we had in our craft stash too.... which reminded me that I need to start using them on cards again too.

He painted the tiles after they were heated in the oven with Acrylic paints, all different brands some were mettalic paint.  The box is also painted acrylic paints.

His sisters name and the date were done with clay alphabet & numbers impression plate made for clay products, and I believe that is called Premo clay, there are a few more of those tiles throughout the background.  My husband says they are alot lighter than the normal clay and can be shaved after baking very easily.  I think that kind is meant to be used for jewelry but I am not sure.

On each side he painted a different season, this one is summer.

                                                                         winter

                                                                             Autumn

                                                                     Spring

I hope you enjoyed seeing a different craft for a change, it's always neat to see different things every once in awhile, at least I do.  He has made another one and maybe I will share that later.

Just incase you want to dabble in the clay world that premo clay is light enough to put on a card, I see original tags to make with them, or making impressions with your stamps.  Word of caution though,  Greg used one of my clear stamps on the clay and it seemed to react with it, but the rubber stamps seemed to be just fine, so I would stick to rubber stamps only with the clay.  Also wash the clay residue off after working with the clay.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Have a Wonderful weekend!

Christmas cards

The last of the cards for my Father in laws gift set.

More stickers from the calendar pack for these cards they were all ornaments so I decided to stamp a branch from the Hampton art Tree stamp set. Then I added pine punches from McGill punch.

In this first card I framed it with Spellbinders Labels 9.
Papers are from DCWV Winter Mat Stack.
Sorry don't know who the maker is of the snowflake brads.

The second card uses a Martha Stewart punch around the page for framing and Fiskar corner punch for the image panel.
My Minds eye Snowed in Winter paper.
Peaches & Cream yarn.

I had 3 more ornament stickers left so I decided to make my first Chrismtas card that I will be sending out.

Paper is from DCWV winter Mat stack.
Martha Stewart border punch.
EK success corner punch on the main panel.
Peaches & Cream yarn.

Oh my very cold start to the morning today, but the sun is shining bright :)  Peanut is laying by the back door soaking up the sun.

Speaking of Peanut oh my she had quite the ordeal at the Vets yesterday getting her nails trimmed, even though I took her for a 30 minute walk before hand she still went potty while they were doing it and then when they gave her to me she went in the position to go #2 again so I hurried her out the door and she did it on the sidewalk, how embarrassing all that is.  She was limping a little after we got home, but after an hours rest in her bed she was doing much better again.  When I tried to look at her foot when she was limping she tried to bite at me, she wasn't a happy girl.  I have learned from this that even if your dogs don't need their nails trimmed when they are little go through the motions so that when they do end up needing it that they are use to you handling their nails.

Best day ever

While being so busy making cards for my Father in law I had to make a birthday card for a friend, saw these  sticker images and thought they would be perfect for her.

K&co, paper
Spellbinder Lattice Rectangle die
Martha Stewart Border punch
Hero arts sentiment stamp

I have to take Peanut to the Vet today to get her nails cut.  We have tried other places and they won't have anything to do with her because she becomes a devil dog when you touch her nails.  When she was younger we could keep them trimmed with her many walks but now she doesn't like to go as much and for not as far,  so we now need them to be trimmed.  I am hoping the Vet can do it without having to knock her out.  Greg and I have tried doing it and I just get too nervous.... I'll let you know how that little adventure goes later.

We have a very cloudy day today, all the big storms went to the south of us last night so luckily no Tornado watches in our area.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

Stickers are from the scrapbook calendar and are mounted on a Spellbinder Oval and Lacey Oval dies.

EK success Circle punch for the anchor.
I forgot to write down what kind of paper I used but I believe it is K&co.

Update on Peanut she is back to her normal self, we don't know if  the trip was to much on her or if she ate something we didn't know about or what but so happy to see her up and her old self again :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and your comments,
Have a Wonderful week,

Quilt

No card today but thought I would share the quilt I made for my Mother in law for Christmas, when we went to Michigan we gave it to her.

The day I took these pics it was quite cloudy out, so my husband held it up for me to take pics because when I would lay it down it was too dark.  The pattern is out of the Magazine American Patchwork and Quilting, by Better Homes and Gardens.  My husband picked out most of the fabric and this pattern.

Here is another picture trying to capture it better but I think the first picture shows the colors of the fabrics more truer.

And here is some coasters I made too using the same fabric.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your having a Good weekend,
Connie

Thankful

I am so Thankful to all our Men and Women in the Military, especially those putting themselves at harms way so that we can be safe and secure.  Pray for their safety and also for their families left behind to take on all that comes up day to day.

My card today is for my great niece who is in her teens, the style reminds me of the 60's & early 70's, but some of that stuff is making a come back right :)

The paper is from K&co.
All the images and sentiment are stickers from the scrapbook calendar.
Spellbinder circle die on the telephone and Ek success circle punch for the sentiment with brad in the center of the flower.
Ek success corner punch.

Poor Peanut hasn't been feeling well since we got home from Michigan, she has thrown up a couple of times, but we are thinking it is from eating to fast when she hadn't been eating much while we were on our trip.  She didn't get as much sleep while we were gone either so we think she is making up for it all now, sure hope that is all it is.  Maybe those trips are going to be too much for her to do anymore.

I thought I would leave you with a picture from our trip, of course pictures never do things justice but I just loved the colors on this tree!

Have a great weekend,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

I'm Back

We just got back from Michigan visiting family and we had a wonderful time.  Had a bit of a bad start as we realized just before going to bed the first night that I had left my overnight bag at home and it had my Thyroid medicine in it, so half of the first day was spent trying to get a hold of our doctor and then getting it to the pharmacy there, but all was good.  I hated to spend out the money but there were a few essentials I had to have.

I don't have much time, alot to do but I will have to share some pictures of the trip in later posts when I have more time.

Here are some more cards that went into my Father in laws gift, which he thought was neat.

K&co. papers on these cards. Martha Stewart  border punch.
Spellbinder Square die with Hero Arts Birthday message stamped sentiment.
Purple Daisy Designs Dragonfly stamp and EK success punch.

Sizzix Tattered Floral die. Scattered straw Stickles for the center.  Martha Stewart border punch and the sentiment is a sticker.

It's good to be back and I can't wait to see what everyone else has been up to.  I didn't have internet access while I was gone, although we kept so busy I didn't even notice, but that just means I have alot of catching up to do on everyone's blogs.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Connie

Calendar images

The images in these two cards, (more for my father in laws present) are from the back of an Arkansas calendar.  Those little images to show you what is in the calendar are alot of times great sizes for cards, and another way to recycle :)

The image on this one is layered onto some kraft cardstock, cut out with spellbinder Square die.  I went to my stash and found 3 fall papers I liked for the background.  Sorry forgot to write down were the sentiment is from. Corner is and EK success punch. Distress inks around the edges.

This image too was layered onto cardstock cut out with spellbinder square die.  I know the bottom piece paper is K&co. but forgot what the top piece is, and I put a strip of green cardstock between the two.  Now looking at it I wish I would have added a sentiment along the top but sadly the gift is allready wrapped, no going back now.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Connie

Faux Stamps

Wow it's November, the time is going by way too quickly for me, so much to do....

This is another set of cards I made for my Father in laws Christmas gift.

For the stamps images I used K&co. Lifes Journey Stamp collage flat paper.

For this first one the background is 3 different Basic grey papers.
I mounted the stamps onto cardstock and used EK success corner punch.
I didn't add a sentiment figured the sentiment on the middle stamp was good here.

For the second card I applied the stamps to a piece of black cardstock, which was mounted onto HOTP Sarabooks Ivory paper.
I forgot to write down where the sentiment is from but I beleive it was probably hero arts.
I used Bronze Pearl pen in the upper left corner.

I thought I would share with you the card my hubby made me for our Anniversary.  What's cute is he drew our cat Jip on the front scratching the pumpkin, can you see the little bite out of her ear, he said he had to add that so I knew it was our cat and not any cat...LOL.

We had a beautiful day yesterday, it was in the 70's and we are suppose to have one more day like that today before it heads into the 60's then 50's.  Hope to get out for a walk later and enjoy it.  The way these snow storms are popping up all over you never know when it is going to hit.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie
