Using another sticker today, this time I placed it on some designer paper colored in the dots with my marker, and then cut out the butterfly. They had extra dots on the sticker sheet so I added them for a butterfly trail :) Also added a few stickles (glitter glue) in the center of the flowers on the background paper and stamped my sentiment, It was one of my quicker cards I have made but I really liked the results.
Elizabeth Craft Designs - Butterfly sticker 0412, on patterned paper and dots colored w/marker
DCWV -- Crafty stack paper for both butterfly and background paper
Gina Marie -- Birthday words
Stickles -- Vintage photo (flower centers on background paper)
We are starting our weekend off with some cloudy and spot rain showers here, I hope no matter what the weather is where you are that you enjoy a very nice and enjoyable weekend.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and your comments, love hearing from you :)

Teen card and Mesa Arch
Hi all, this is going to be a picture heavy post, it just took to long to decide which ones to post of our trip, so stick with me :)
First I want to share a card I made for another great nephew who is turning 17. It won't be long folks and I will have great great nieces and nephews :) When I saw this t-shirt die at the stamp store over in Missouri for 40% off I just couldn't pass up buying it for teen cards.
I found a stamp to go with the paper I found, stamped the sentiment on the shirt and added some nailheads to the upper left corner and I was done.
Die-Namics -- Jersey die
Gina K -- taglines sentiment stamp set
Recollections -- Awesome boy paper
Mark Richards -- Brass Nailheads
This first picture is one that I forgot to post with my other pictures from Arches National park, but I just love the contrast and all the different textures.
The rest of the pictures I am sharing today are from Mesa Arch area of the Canyonlands National park Utah.
We woke up at 4:30 am to make the 45 minute drive to Mesa Arch before the sunrise. It was so pitched black dark when we got there and had we had to walk with just a flash light to see the path ahead of us, I believe it was about a 1/2 mile walk out to Mesa Arch from the parking lot. We got to a certain point in the path that it was just to step for me to try to go on any farther so I told Greg to go ahead and I would stay there and wait for him. He didn't want to leave me alone out there, not sure what kind of animals may be around and such but I told him I would be ok. He left me the flash light and went on the rest of the way to the arch.
This picture is as the sun was coming up. I told you it was dark out there :)
You can see a bit of the orange now, you may have to click on the picture to see but about in the middle do you see a light shinning, that is someone at the arch shinning a light onto the arch.
Here you can see all the people gathering to get their place.
This next picture gives you a little better idea of how far away I was from the arch.
I so love the sky in this next picture.
Now we are seeing a bit of the sunrise reflecting on the bottom of the arch now.
The sun was getting so bright now I was about blinding myself, I put on my sunglasses and would just look through the viewfinder enough to just check to see that I was getting a straight shot.
I hope you can see the glow of the sun on the arch in this one, of course I can see it good on my big monitor, you may have to click on them to really see.
This one is a bit grainy but you can really see the glow on the arch in it and all the people that were there trying to capture the sunrise on the arch.
This last picture is what was to the right of me, you can't see it very well but the sun was shinning on these rocks so pretty.
It was quite the adventure that morning, I had never been out like that so early in the morning and to watch the sunset come up from complete darkness was totally amazing, and yes in the early afternoon we went back to our hotel and took a nap, LOL!
Thanks so much for stopping by today,
Connie

Calendar cards
How many of you have those daily calendars. I have bought Mary Engelbreit daily calendars over the past 4 years, and I saved them all, there are just some really cute images on them that I thought they would be great for card making. This one is going to a friend that has 4 dogs and they are here little babies, when I saw this image I just knew she would like it.
The butterfly is one that a fellow card maker sent to me. Using my MISTI tool I was able to line up the sentiment stamps and first stamp with red for the outside sentiment and then in yellow for the inside sentiment, with the tag still in the die I did some yellow sponging around it.
Mary Engelbreit -- 2012 daily calendar for image
Crate paper -- Party day paper
Spellbinders -- Captivating squares, A2 matting basics A and Back to Basics tags dies
K&co. -- paper ribbon
Stamps of Life -- Postmarks 2 stamp sentiment stamp set
ribbon
Butterfly -- from friend
We had some rain last night and it gave us nice cool temps this morning, I do believe Fall is on it's way here now :) I missed out on going to our Church's Fall festival last night but I heard it went very well and our prayers for the rain holding out until after it was over were answered. My foot is doing better, I am managing without the pain pills, they were just making me feel to groggy and this girl has some cards she needs to get done, I need my head in a good place :)
Hope your week is off to a wonderful start, Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and leave your comments I do appreciate it!!

16th Birthday and Double Arches
I have used this truck stamp on the past 3 great nephews who have turned 16, I think I am getting my use out of it and I have plenty more great nephews to come :)
The paper had the license plates on it, all I did was stamp the truck give it some color with a sponge and some ink and stamped the sentiment and the tire marks.
Our Daily Bread -- Special Boy stamp set
Recollections -- Awesome boy paper
Today I am sharing pictures of the Double arch and the area
This next one looks like a keyhole to me
Close up of the Double arch
I love the contrast of the blue sky, the rocks and then the green in this one
I had a procedure done on Thursday to try and correct my hammer toes. He cut 3 tendons in the top of my foot in hopes that my toes will go straight. He said we won't know for awhile if it worked in one of the toes because it is pretty bad, I may have to have a pin put in on that one, sure am hoping this worked and I won't have to go through that. The forecast is saying cooler temps next week after a storm system comes through, hoping for quick healing so I can get out in that nice weather and enjoy some walks :)
Hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend ahead. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today!

Red Tulips
I know this is more like a spring time card with the tulip, but I am determined to use my stickers every few cards I make, and it was time again :) This was a very large sticker so it called for a tall card, which I don't do very often, it fits into a business size envelope.
I added a few gems and the jute bow and the little lady bug sticker onto the leaf. I think the border punch I used doesn't go well with the paper when seen in the photo, in person I didn't realize it, so hopefully to my friend in person it will be ok :)
K&co. Tim Coffey-- Red Tulips embossed stickers
DCWV -- Timeless Texture paper (background)
Crate paper -- DIY shop for border papers
American craft -- Jute
Stamp on it -- Sentiment sticker
Spellbinders -- Labels trio
Mark Richards -- crystals
I hope this has inspired you to get out your forgotten treasures whether they are stickers or old stamps or dies and have fun playing.
Thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy day to stop by and for leaving your comments,
Connie
P. S. I didn't have time to go through my pictures, I am hoping to have more in my next post :)

You're Dino mite
My card today is for my great nephew the grandson of my Sister, who's card I shared last time. I stamped the dinosaur onto a textured cardstock and the tree and leaves onto a patterned paper and then colored over, so I have done a bit of paper piecing for this card. I still have a few pieces of this cloud paper too. After stamping I hand cut out all the pieces. The only die I used was for the grass.
Nitwit collection-- Dinosaur stamp set from Australian Simply cards magazine
Poppystamps -- stitched landscape die
Distress inks -- mowed lawn
I only had time to share a couple of pictures, I really enjoyed this park because you could be right in it, these are pics of the next morning at Arches National Park. When I get around to it I will share some of the double arches.
The sky is washed out in this picture but I still love how the rocks look.
Even if you can't get out and climb around the rocks as you can see in this picture the drive is very close to them and you get a great view every turn.
Thanks so much for stopping in today, Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!

Harvest
I did one of these Tryfold cards for my sister in June, this time I am using the Autumn themed card for my oldest sister for her birthday.
I used watercolor paper with distressed inks and my water brush to color it. I used a paper clip to keep it closed to show in the first picture.
Here it is with one side open.
And here it is with both flaps open. The space below the image is where I wrote the sentiment.
Art Impression -- Harvest Tryfold, colored w/distress inks
Hope you have a wonderful and blessed Sunday.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Card and Arches at Sunset
I thought I would share a card I did for my nephew first, I have a few waiting to be posted, then I will share the sunset pictures I took while at the same arches I showed yesterday.
This is designer paper and stickers.
There is a bit of shine to these stickers so I took another picture that I was able to get it without the shine.
I am not sure if that piece I used for the moose to walk on is suppose to be ground or more trees but I thought it worked to ground him, these are 5 different stickers.
I took some Kraft cardstock and ran my ink pad over it in swipes to give the textured look for the background.
The Dazzles (Stickers) are from Hot off the Press called Great Outdoors.
There is a little story behind my pictures I am sharing today. After we finished taking pictures of all the arches in this area, it was getting close to sunset, hubby asked if I would like to stay and get some sunset shots since there were a lot of dramatic clouds too he thought they would be neat. I said sure so we found a couple of rocks to sit on and my hubby sat up his tripod for his camera and since I didn't carry mine I decided to put my camera away and just enjoy the sunset and not take any pictures, Well we where facing Turret Arch and enjoying the sunset when for some reason I turned around to look at The South window and this is what I saw.
Quite the contrast from my last post huh! I thought it was so cool looking with the sun making the arches glow orange now. I hurried and got my camera out of my bag and started taking pictures. I wish I could have truly captured it for you it was amazing.
When I turned to tell Greg to look at them the next picture is what I saw to the left of us, a Beautiful rainbow in the sunset. My hubby said you take pictures of the arches I will get the rainbow, so we were both like two little kids snapping away pictures. I just had to take a break and get one of the rainbow myself :)
Then I turned and tried to capture the sunset through Turret arch. Talk about getting dizzy from spinning around trying to capture the sunset from so many angles, very exciting, and you know how fast it goes down when you are trying to capture that good shot.
What did I tell you those were some dramatic clouds, luckily it didn't rain on us though, it was off in the distance. This last shot the sky had turned orange and yellow so I tried another picture to get the difference in colors.
It is a beautiful place to visit if you get the chance. Greg and I were just talking yesterday that we think we enjoyed this area even more than the Grand Canyon.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today, I know how busy everyone is with the kids starting up school again and all the other obligations that the Autumn season brings, so thanks so much for taking the time to comment too :)

Arches National Parks
I am doing this park in a few different posts because I just had to hard of a time deciding which pictures to post and I didn't want to overwhelm you with pictures. I believe I have the correct info about each of the photos but I will have my hubby check when he can and let me know if I am wrong :)
This first picture is not of the park but a summit over look of a few different ranges of mountains, with the Old Dillion Reservoir in Colorado. I love when we find these little pullovers where we can see such beauty and get a bit of time out of the car. This is the kind of stuff I like instead of flying to a destination.
This is the South window Arch
South and North window Arches
I don't believe we were at the top yet when I took this picture, but this was the view when I turned around, you can see to the left the parking lot, and see a few people on the trail to the arches, the paths are pretty good, a bit tiring because it is a constant hill. That range of mountains in the background has double arch.
Turret Arch, As you can see on the steep trails there are stairs, but the dirt is filling them in.
I just loved the texture in this one, so I had to share :)
Here is another picture of Turret Arch from the other side after we climbed up those stairs in the last arch picture.
Ok that is it for today, we stayed until Sunset and I will be sharing those pics tomorrow. This was a beautiful place.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
Connie

Birdies Trio
Here is my post for Dies R us blog.
Yes I know it is coming on Autumn time but it isn't officially yet so I am sharing one more summer time card.
I colored up Tutti Designs Birdie Trio die with my Spectrum Noir marker. Do you see how the wings are a different color, those wings come out so you could leave that area blank if you would like but I decided to color them a different color than the rest of the bird so it would stand out. If you don't like to color, you could always take some scrap paper and cut those out of a scrap piece of cardstock if you wanted it to stand out or just cut it all out of the same colored cardstock, I love how you can do different techniques with your diecuts and each card will be so different.
Next I added my die cut to my Memory Box Stitched Circle Layers die.
For the background I went with some designer paper from DCWV, Old World stack and on top of that layered Amy Designs Wire Frame Die. I could have added my Bird die to the frame directly but thought popping it up on a separate background looked better.
The sentiment comes from Hero Arts -- Birthday messages stamp set.
Here are the dies I used for today's card, all the links are above in the description.
