ODBDSLC98

There was a challenge on the Our Daily Bread design blog to do a card that wasn't the normal A2, rectangle or square card, so I decided to do another round card.

I won a free set of stamps and also won a $15 off of a set of stamps through ODBD, so now I have more stamps I can play along in the challenges :)

This stamp set is called Porch and it has some great verses to go along with this image.  I couldn't figure out a way to put the verse on the outside so I put it on the inside, I chose He restores my soul Psalm 23:3.  The image was colored with distress inks, except for the coffee cup and the flowers and leaves on the blue pillow which were markers. The image has foam tape under it.

I cut the shape with my Spellbinder Eyelet Circles die and then used my circle die to cut out the K&co. paper behind the image.

Martha Stewart seam binding, and Heidi Swapp bling.

The card shape idea came from Card Ideas for paper crafters Magazine page 16.  Cut two eyelet circles, cut off the edge and use my score pal to score 1/2 inch so that it could open and then used my score tape to hold the card together.

I was worried with the way the image hangs over the card if it would stand up but it does :)

Hope your having a good week so far,
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Connie

Challenge

There are a group of Ladies that I got to know when I first started making cards and one of them gave us a challenge to stamp around a shape and then emboss it and this is the card I ended up with.

I first cut a rectangle shape out, stamped the Hero Arts Leaf cluster stamp all around the edges, stamped the sentiment form Inkadinkado Garden Flowers stamp set, then I cut that out using the Spellbinder Labels Eight die.

Yep we are getting high winds today, I was awaken at 5am with the sound of rushing winds and it gets lighter every now and then but it just makes you cold listening to it blowing.  Our family in Michigan is getting hit with snow right now, so I am just thankful we don't have that on top of all this wind.

Glittered Tree

Martha Stewart Glittered Botanical Card Kit was used for the tree.  This was very time consuming to cut away just the branch and trunk of the tree so that I could do that with brown glitter and then the leaves to get the green, but I like the affect instead of just having it all green or all brown.  Yes I am still finding glitter from this project!

BasicGrey Porcelain paper for the top half
Brown cardstock was embossed using a Sizzix embossing folder, sorry I don't have the name of it.
Spellbinder Labels 4 (sentiment tag)
K&co. Card Quotes sticker pad for sentiment

We had a great visit with the kids, of course it went by way too quickly, but she assured me that she would be seeing me next month for my birthday :)

Hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend, and are able to get some creating done.

Happy Valentines Day

Well I forgot about posting the valentines for my hubby when I said the other day that I had posted the last valentines card.  Here are the ones we gave to each other this morning.

Here is a close up of the one I made

Comotion Rubber Stamps-cupid with arrow, colored with markers
Vintage Photo Distress ink for all the edges

Greg made this during his break at work, cut everything out from a co-workers magazine, except for the big heart at the base he said that was the inside of a chip bag, his co-workers thought he had gone crazy when he was cleaning out the inside of the chip bag :)

Hope you all enjoy a great day with your loved ones :)

I thought I would share a picture I took of Peanut (our dog) and Anna (our cat we brought back from England) that I took last week on a sunny morning.  They sure love laying in the sun.  Our other cat Jip always hangs out in the bedroom after her breakfast and a little loving from Mom.

Well we are being told that starting around noon today we should start getting measureable snowfall, no more dustings.  I told my husband since he has been wanting it I will leave it for him to shovel :)

I started on a card yesterday but just have kind of an idea, other than that no other creating this weekend, we can't have too many more of that.  Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend.

Owl always love you

Cricut  Hoot ' n ' Holler Cartridge for Owl, Branch and Sentiment.
Hand cut speech bubble
Colorbok paper

I was determined to get more use out of my Cricut this year and have managed to use it quite a few times already :)  Now if I could keep myself to buying any more supplies and just use what I have I will be alright.  With all the new goodies coming out from CHA that may be too hard to do.

We are enjoying our last nice day for awhile, pretty sunshine and in the 50's but they say we will get into the 30's for the end of the week.  Hope you are all enjoying a nice start to your week.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Happy Birthday Dad

Today is my Dad's Birthday!!  These are the days that I wish we lived closer to family, My sisters and brothers are getting together with Dad tomorrow to celebrate!

I bought this Impression Obsession stamp a long time ago, called Newsprint, I loved the crinkle look of it so I added some more distressing to it.

The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread designs, Happy Birthday stamp set, which I won a $15 gift certificate from them a little while back and this is the set I bought.

It needed a little extra so I added a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Sprocket gear, and a couple photo turns that I am not sure of the maker.

The base was made from a piece of DCWV Old World paper, I love how thick that paper pack is.  This card is big it measures 6x6, I think the next time I use this stamp I may have to use parts of it if I want to put it on a smaller card :)

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend,
Connie
