Glitter flurries

Last time I used this washi tape I used the full sheet to cover my card, this time I used half a sheet and then applied the tape to another piece of cardstock and fussy cut some of the flowers out to add to the top of the card. Since there is gold touches in the washi tape I cut some leaves out of gold metallic paper to go with the flowers. I stamped the text for the top of the card and used a die cut border to go between.  I used my circle punch once again to punch out some circles to add to the background.

  • Altenew - Glitter Flurries Washi tape, fussy cut the flowers for the main image
  • American Crafts - Border stamp for top half of card
  • Tim Holtz - Crochet and Funky Floral #3 die
  • Honbay - Sentiment stamp
  • Spellbinders - Labels 29 dies
  • EK Success - circle punch

The side view shows the gold in the flowers better :)

Wishing you all a very Happy New year, hope you all stay safe and that 2023 is a great year for you!

Thanks so much to all of you that stop by so often and give me such great encouragement and your friendship.

Hugs,
Connie

Good Life

I forgot to share the birthday card I made for my hubby at the beginning of December. I had to laugh when he opened it up he said is this your 49 and Market, LOL!  I used them for his anniversary card too, maybe for Valentines day I will have to go with something different :)

I just love the laser cut items they had in this pack, I thought this wrought iron gate would go nicely with the birds on the branches. Did a bit of sponge inking around the base and sentiment.  It worked great on a mini slimline card base.

  • 49 and Market - 6x8 Curators Meadow paper and Meadow Laser cut elements, inking around edges and sentiment

I popped up the birds and branch with some foam tape for a little dimension.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

Aaargh!

I brought out this stamp set again to make this little scene for my great nephew.  Sponged the background added some white gel pen for waves in the water. I had to stamp the pirate again and color him and fussy cut him out to add his body and chest to the background, my coloring wouldn't cover up the sponging I had done.

  • Stampendous - Changito Pirates stamp set, colored w/markers, fussy cut pirate, chest and bird
  • Stampendous - Meadow Edge stamp (birds)
  • Sponged background with ink and added white gel pen for the waves

We are warming up today should reach 32 degrees today, and the sun is out, can't ask for more :)
Hope you all that have been suffering with the snow and cold get a little relief today also.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and say Hi,

Merry Christmas

I realized I never saved a card to post on Christmas day from all the Christmas cards I made throughout the year, so I decided to use one of the stamp and die sets I just got from the 2022 Crafter's Companion Advent Calendar.  It was in door 23. A couple days prior I saw a challenge I could use them for, plus another challenge, so I decided to make up a card to have for my Christmas post.

  • Crafters Companion 2022 Advent Calendar - Candy cane and bow stamps and dies
  • Spellbinders - Classic Squares and Classic Scalloped Square small dies
  • Wild Rose Studio - Annabelle's Christmas paper
  • Cuttlebug - Swiss dots embossing folder
  • Tim Holtz - Rose design tape
  • Christmas paper crafts - Christmas sticker book sentiment (Hobby Lobby)

I am sharing my card with:

Double D Challenge Candy Cane

Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge Colors red and green

Wishing you all a very Blessed and Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.

Hugs,

Connie

For the boys

I guess I should say young men, LOL!  Both of these are for older teenagers! I seem to be having a hard time figuring out what to do for this age group, you don't want them to be to young looking but you also don't want them to be old guy cards.

This first card was pretty easy, the paper did most of the work I just added the two pieces of ephemera and stamped the birthday sentiment on the one and popped it up.

  • Recollections - Awesome boy paper
  • Tim Holtz - Field notes ephemera pack
  • Simon says stamps - tiny words birthday

On this second card I didn't even bother with a side view shot because it is pretty flat other than the brads I used in the corners.  I colored in the different elements on the card using my chalks and attached with the brads. I added a candle sticker to the area that was kind of bare. Cut the image out with a wonky die to give it a bit of interest and done.

  • Hot off the press - Cardmakers Birthday card quotes image, colored w/chalks
  • Darice - Nesting Wavy Squares die
  • Graphic 45 Curtain Call paper
  • Recollections - Brads
  • Colorbok - art of flower sticker (candle)
Hope you all are enjoying these days leading up to Christmas.  I woke up last night and checked the weather our temperature was -7 and with windchill - 32. Enjoying my flannel sheets right about now :)
Hope you all are staying warm where you are and staying safe.

Bird with flower

I noticed almost every other card has a bird on it, at least they all don't have them, LOL!  When I was deciding what to do for this card for my friend I was at a blank, I thought I haven't used my coloring calendar images in awhile and then remembered I still have some left from when I had my foot surgery and I found this bird that I had colored with pencils and I think they were metallic ones, and the flower I had colored w/markers.  I used a die cut background too. To make the sentiment fit onto the card I had to fussy cut around it.

  • Coloring for Calm calendar 2018 - Bird image, colored w/metallic pencils
  • Flower image given to me and I colored w/markers
  • Tim Holtz - Simple Plaid die cut
  • Inkadinkado - All Occasions sentiment stamp, fussy cut
  • Nuvo Crystal drops-  Autumn red

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

All Star

My nephew that just bought his new house turned 22 recently and I went with this paper pack.  I found a bingo card that had a 22 on it in the paper pack, so I added that and using my circle punches I made a piece to frame the number. Cut out the circles with stars from another sheet in the pack and popped them up with foam tape.  The day was cut from a Tim holtz die.

  • Recollections -  Awesome boy paper pack (stars and bingo card popped up w/foam tape)
  • EK Success - circles punches to make frame around the 22 (his age)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope the week ahead is a nice stress free week,

I first posted using this shelf HERE .  Soma I think it was said in an email that she would like to see books on a shelf.  I thought that would be a great idea for my daughters birthday card since she loves books!  Now you will have to try and not laugh at my homemade books I made for the shelf out of patterned papers.

  • Graphic 45 - Botanical Tea Paper
  • Taylored Expressions - Many Mini Occasions sentiment stamp

Vintage

I bought another 49 and market paper and ephemera.  I told hubby I really need to stop and just use what I have, hopefully I will be able to do that. I gave this one to my niece and she just loved it. I just love the vintage feel to it.

  • 49 and Market - Vintage Artistry Serenity 6x8 paper, Laser Cut elements and Postage Washi tape

I had some trouble remembering how I changed the picture at the top of my blog as you may have noticed when you stopped by with my last post, but I finally figured it out, what made me feel good was hubby that is quite the computer whiz tried to figure it out for me and couldn't but after a fresh night's sleep I was able to get it :)  Hopefully in the spring I will remember how I did it.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, hope you all that are in the way of the snow coming don't lose power or have any other troubles.

Birds of a Feather

The lady that started our cardmaking group has retired and has made a big move to a new area, she is feeling so many conflicting feelings about it all, so for her birthday card I sent her this card that reminds her that our group hasn't changed and we will be here for her as she makes this transition.

  • Graphic 45 - Bird Watcher 8 x8 paper pack and Ephemera Assortment
  • Spellbinders - A2 Distressed Edges dies
  • Sassafras - Apple Jack paper (yellow piece)
  • Distress stickles - Scattered Straw (around the swirl piece)

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today, I hope you all have a great week ahead!

Flowers in a Can

I thought that was a funny name for this stamp but maybe they already had one called Flowers in a vase :)

This is one of my favorite cards of the year that I have done. I think it is because I was happy with everything about it, the coloring, the design and colors.  Just all came together :)  That doesn't happen very often for me that I love everything about my card.

I have been using my little circle punch to make my own faux enamel dots along with my crystal glaze, that way I can have them in whatever color I want.

  • Woodware - Flowers in a can stamp, colored w/markers
  • Sizzix - Tags, Rounded die
  • BasicGrey - Porcelain paper
  • Impression Obsession - Classic corners die
  • EK Success - Circle punch w/Nuvo Crystal Glaze

Favorite Peep

I saw this stamp set at Hobby Lobby and just thought it was too cute, that was when they had the sets on sale for 40% off, so bummed they quite doing that.

  • Art Impressions - Birdhouse cubbies stamp set, colored w/markers
  • Spellbinders - Curved Rectangle die
  • Ms. Sparkle & co. - Wood grain paper

Oh Deer

Wow it is December already, how time flies, it seems to go by faster every year.

Sandra I wanted to stop by your blog but there is no info on you when I click on your name, if you have a blog please let me know the next time you comment :)

I have used this little guy before but oh my he is so cute I couldn't help but let him come out and play once again. I used stickles for the snow and it kind of warped my card a bit, so it will go under some books to see if that will help, but I used foam tape on the tree and fawn so I am not sure if it will work.

  • Newtons Nook designs - Deer Friend
  • Frantic Stamper - Oregon Fir and small Oregon fir dies
  • Poppystamps - Stitched Landscape and super star dies
  • Nuvo Crystal drops - Autumn red
  • Stickles - Diamond (snow)
  • Hero Arts - Merry Christmas message stamp

I am sharing today's card with Inky Paws Challenge Holiday Theme.
Also with Four Seasons challenge which is winter.

Good news my washer arrived this afternoon and I have done two loads and it works great, something I can put in my thankful journal, so thankful for washing machines :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

I am sharing today's post with the Peace on Earth Christmas challenge

Now it is time to figure out if I need more cards and get the insides done and get these all addressed, thank goodness I make cards throughout the year now because I would be in very sad shape right now.

I did not get my washing machine yesterday, when they took it out of the box it had a big dent in the side of the machine, so they had to take it back and then we were told they couldn't deliver another one until Thursday. So hoping there is nothing wrong with the next one they send out.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Watercolor Christmas

My stamp groups Christmas challenge for this Month is to do watercolor.  Here are 3 I managed to get done, I can't believe how long watercoloring takes me and I still am not sure they turn out all that well. When I used the Aqua pens, I scribbled them on my glass mat and then picked up the color with my water brush.

  • Woodware - Fluffy Robin stamp, watercolor w/ Daniel Smith and Spectrum Aqua pens, used the Haze Blue Zig marker for around the image
  • PPD - Distressed Edge Rectangle die inked around edges with fossilized Amber
  • K&co. - Blue Awning paper
  • Starform - Merry Christmas sticker

  • Northwoods Rubber stamp, used versafine black ink on watercolor paper
  • Spectrum Aqua markers
  • Delicata - Golden Glitz ink around the edges
  • Starform - Merry Christmas silver sticker

I tried no line coloring with this last one, first stamping with Antique Linen Distress ink. Then used Spectrum water color pencils to color it.

  • Stampendous - Pinecone decoration, stamped with Distress Antique linen, used Spectrum Aqua pencils to color
  • PPD - Curvy Coved Rectangle die
  • Sizzix - Embossing folder
  • Country tags Chipboard 3D
  • Nuvo Crystal drops - Pale Gold, applied to embossing and stamped image
We were blessed with having my sister and brother in law come down and visit for Thanksgiving, then we had to do some shopping to find a new washing machine that died on me the day before Thanksgiving, so I am a bit behind on posting to the blog and visiting your blogs but hope to get to it soon :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Happy Thanksgiving

I made this little turkey but cutting a couple scalloped circles out and cutting them in half, then taking my regular circle dies to form his body. Hand cut a triangle for his beak and added pearls for his eyes.  Used a little foliage dies to ground him and I did break into my 49 and market washi tape for a sentiment.

  • Spellbinders - Standard circles (body) Lacey circles (feathers) dies
  • Fussy cut beak and Pearls for eyes
  • Tim Holtz - Funky Foliage dies
  • 49 and Market - in the leaves - Washi tape sentiment

I hope you all in the states enjoy a lovely Thanksgiving.  I am thankful for each and everyone of you that give me such encouragement all year long with your sweet comments and friendships I have made here.  My prayer is that each and everyone of you have so much to be Thankful for this day and throughout the coming year!

Alien Birthday

When trying to think of what to do for my great nephews birthday I remembered these Diamond Dotz characters I had and thought he might like one.  Did the background with stars to make it look more outer space. Stamped some sentiments on the stars I die cut and it was done.  I enjoy doing these diamond dotz, I don't know if I would ever tackle one of those large ones you can buy but these small ones are fun to do, I found this set at JoAnns. I thought the silver washi tape on the sides might make it more space like too.

  • Diamond Dotz - Space Dotzies
  • Spellbinders - Lg. Classic Inverted Scallop Circles
  • Paper Pizazz - Great backgrounds Paper
  • Tim Holtz - Idea-ology design tape
  • DieVersions - Stitched Nesting stars
  • Simon Says stamps- Tiny words Birthday

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today, I know how busy everyone in the States are with Thanksgiving coming up.

Bountiful Harvest

Sadly I have made my last card for Thanksgiving using my 49 and market goodies, and have put the  Autumn collection to bed. This sentiment came torn like this and I just did a bit of inking around it, the butterfly is from the same ephemera pack. The acorn and small leaf are rubons.

  • 49 and Market - In the leaves collection- 6x8 Papers, Ephemera bits and Rub on Transfers

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today and letting me know you have,

Paper Hug

I love this sentiment, it really describes what homemade cards are :)

I colored the stamp with markers, didn't get the blending I wanted on the bird, I often wonder if I don't try to blend enough but sometimes it ends up ruining it even more when I try harder, guess it just takes practice. I stamped the inner portions of the stamp with brown ink and the area with the text in black. I added a few gems to the flower centers.

  • Hero Arts - Birds in a Circle stamp, stamped in brown and black inks, colored w/markers
  • Teresa Collins - He said she said paper
  • Spellbinders - Labels 22 and Labels trio dies
  • Ribbon
  • Gems
  • Simon says stamps - Tiny words birthday sentiment stamp

Wishing all those well who are dealing with all this snow, if you are a crafter it is a great chance to just hang out inside and do some creating ;)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Hubby Anniversary

I was talking with a friend about the 49 and Market stuff and making cards from it and I realized I never shared the card I made for my hubby with them.  The card is a 5x7 size to accommodate that big piece of ephemera, I think it is really supposed to have a picture inside for a scrapbook page but need to be adapted for a card :)

The background paper was so pretty that I didn't need to add anything inside really, but I did like that spiced up sentiment banner and the always and forever reached across perfectly, the leaf and helicopter was added in too. To finish it off some Liquid pearls.

  • 49 and Market - In the leaves collection, 12x12 paper collection, Ephemera bits
  • Liquid Pearls - Chestnut

I am sharing today's card with the Sisterhood of Crafters Aperture challenge.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
