Best Friends

I was inspired by a photo for this card, my nephews wife posts lots of pictures of their kids and one of them showing my great niece walking with her friend I thought was so cute and I remembered I had a stamp like that so I colored it up for her birthday.

The plants in the front are part of this stamp set, they came with a card making magazine.  I colored the stamp and then lined up my die with it, sat my paper on top to cut the opening.  Then I cut out the flowers after coloring them and popped them on the front to give depth to the scene.

  • Cardcrafting Originals- Apple of my eye collection, colored w/markers
  • Echo park - Fine and Dandy paper
  • Spellbinders - Scalloped Classic ovals lg and ribbons dies
  • Simon Says stamps - Tiny words birthday sentiment stamp

Hope your week is off to a great start,

Get Well

I am not sure if the person I am sending this card to wants me to say or not but she is in the hospital and not doing well, we have met through our blogs and  I am asking that you would pray for her, that she will be feeling much better soon.

I started off with a flower I had done recently, the stamp was heat embossed in black, then stencils laid on top for the pattern you see.  I cut it out and put on this cute striped paper.  I had to add some purple butterflies :)

This sentiment stamp set only had get well not a soon in it :(

JRL - Rose Romance stamp, embossed in black and stencils used to color
Honey Bee - River Rock Stencil
Spellbinders - Lattice Rectangle die
Leisure Arts - Savor this moment paper
My Favorite Things - Label maker sentiment stamp
Martha Stewart - Butterfly punch

Ribbons and Lace

In my stamp group our Christmas challenge for the month of April was to use some kind of fibers on our card, we could use floss ribbons jute anything like that, well I went with lace and ribbons to make these trees.

I first painted some popsicle sticks brown  for the trunk of the trees and then cut my lace and ribbons, sewed the strips to buttons and then glued them onto the stick.

I had these big snowflake stickers so I mounted them onto the back of kraft cardstock for my background. The buttons I found at a flea market.

The second I tried to use different green ribbons I had in my stash, along with some green buttons, and I used the last of this snowflake background stickers I had.

I am not to sure I like how straight I cut this tree, I may have to go in and try to do some trimming so it isn't so exactly straight, just afraid of ruining it after all that work.

I am slowly getting caught up on my Christmas cards that I want to get done ahead of time.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Primrose postcard

There are all different size cards out there these days and many need their own envelopes, I decided to try and make a card that would fit into a regular size envelope that you would maybe send a letter in that you can buy at any store, no specialty envelope.

The card size was 6 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches. The envelope I used was 3.625 x 6.5 inches.

This paper pack I used once again has these great labels in them, so pretty and so I used the postcard one for my card today.

I added the ribbon around it, tucked in a tag with a stamped sentiment and added one of my wooden roses to it, I waited to post until she received it to see how it mailed and she said she got it in perfect shape.  I did add another piece of cardstock over the ribbon so it would be flatter.

  • DCWV - Primrose paper
  • Ribbon
  • Recollections - Mixed Media Wood Rose
  • Stamps of life - Minis4circles sentiment stamp
  • Martha Stewart - Tag punch

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today and letting me know you have,

Dragonfly

I am sharing a masculine card today, I love this layering stamp dragonfly, this time I have him sitting on top of a wood slice, trying to figure out more ways to use that die.

I thought the sentiment was perfect for my brother, After stamping and cutting out I added a little sparkle to his wings you can see it better on the photo below. It needed a little bit more so I broke out my grass die.  I also added some crystal glaze to the grass to look like dew in the grass.

  • The Greetery - wood slice die
  • Hero Arts - Color layering dragonfly stamp
  • Basic Grey - Periphery paper
  • Impression Obsession - Grass die
  • Nuvo - Crystal glaze
  • Simon says stamps - Tiny words Birthday
  • Spectrum clear sparkle pen
We are getting some relief from the high temps today :)  I hope out west is getting that too, and praying for all those caught in the storms this past weekend.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today and letting me know you did,

Cosmos

The Flower Challenge Blog has a Clean and simple challenge, which is a challenge for me because the more the better in my book, LOL!  White space makes me nervous :) But I went for it and here is my result.

I used my layering dies for the flower and leaf, a strip of paper that a die cut a stitched border to and sprinkled some paint onto the background and added my die cut sentiment, it was quick because I have a stash of flowers already made up :)

  • Gemini - Cosmo flower and sentiment dies
  • Teresa Collins - He said she said paper
  • Memory Box - Country stitches die
  • Gem for the top of birthday ( lost the tiny die cut)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today, hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Centerpiece

I shared a card last time for the girl that got married last year, but because of pandemic we couldn't have a shower for her. Well I think most of her friends and family must have bought presents for her last year because when I went on the registry there wasn't much to pick from, well I decided to get this cake plate for her. After I bought it I remembered seeing a picture of a cake plate that had a decoration on it instead of a cake and I thought that was a neat idea for those times that you don't have a cake.

I remembered for my daughters wedding we had bought a bunch of these plates that were clear and had center pieces on them for her table decorations, they were in my garage all wrapped up nicely so I grabbed one, washed it up and made some flowers to put on top.  Her kitchen colors are navy blue and her favorite color is yellow so that is what I went for to make the arrangement. I also found a candle with the scent of lemonade to put in the center :)

I shaped the flowers by cutting them out from patterned paper with my dies and then lightly inking the edges with a little darker yellow ink, then I flipped them over and lightly misted with water before shaping them using my stylus and a foam mat, the centers were made by crunching together two of the smallest dies in the set, each flower was 5 layers.  The smallest flowers were punches that I shaped the same way to fill in the blank spaces. I used blue patterned paper for the leaves too!

The doily piece below was cut with my big scalloped dies.

Just before I was getting ready to wrap the present I thought I should show you how it looked on the wooden cake stand I bought for her. But it was to big for my light box I use for my cards so here it is on a table near the best lighting in my house :)

It was fun to create a project to go along with the gift :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today and say Hi,

Happily Ever After

Another young lady in our church got married last year during the Pandemic, she was only able to have their parents at the wedding so they decided to renew their vows on their Anniversary but invite everyone that they wanted to come to their wedding the first time. So the church ladies decided to give her the wedding shower she never had also.

It felt funny making a wedding card for someone that has already been married a year already and then I remembered this cute stamped image Birgit had sent me, I hadn't colored it yet because I just wasn't sure what I would use it for, but it was perfect for this shower.  I will have to say she just loved the card.

The saying in the card was something like walking hand in hand with the one I love ect. So I thought this image worked great.

  • PPD- Wavy stitched Rectangle die
  • Impression Obsession - 6 in 1 Rectangle Frame die

Bee Inspired

I have been wanting to make another card with bees on it, I have seen so many cute cards out there but I kept for getting when I went to make a card, I just love this bee die.

When I saw this challenge over at Double D Challenge Blog, I knew I just had to play along.

They had a mood board to get your inspiration for your card and I picked both of the images on the left side, I liked just using partial honeycomb on my card and I also liked the image with the 3 bees.  Of course what bee doesn't need flowers so I had to add some of those.

  • Sizzix Tim Holtz - Mixed Media die
  • Elizabeth Craft designs - Bees die
  • Spellbinders - Layered Colorful Blooms dies
  • Hot Off the press- Dazzles - 130 tiny words & Phrases sticker
I am also sharing today's post with the NBUS Challenge Blog sharing my never before used Spellbinder flower dies, I love this set and look forward to making more.

Faith Hope and Love

My great niece was just married this past weekend. We were not able to make it up to Michigan for the ceremony but I sent a card and some money :)

Her invitations had this pretty soft blue flowers on it and so I wanted to go with that theme for her card, and I remembered the flowers that my friend sent me to color while I was recovering from my foot surgery and they worked perfectly.  Added a sentiment and a die cut corner and some pretty pearls and I was done.

The background paper looks a bit gray in this picture , but it was a soft blue.

  • Flowers unknown- colored w/markers and fussy cut
  • Art-C - Cardstock
  • Gemini - Opulent swirls die
  • Fiskars - Just Married Quotes
  • Pearls

Thank You for stopping by today and saying Hi,

  • Gemini Heart die
  • Teresa Collins - He said she said paper

Brave wings

My friend has been going through a lot with health problems here lately and through it all she has stayed positive, she is single and says she puts all her trust in God. So when I saw this sentiment I just had to use it on her birthday card.

I love Hunkydory's artwork, always makes beautiful cards.  Since it is a big size circle I decided to make a circle card instead of putting it on rectangle or square base.

  • Hunkydory - Flutterbye wishes, layers built up with foam tape
  • Spellbinders - Grand Decorative Circles one die
  • Tim Holtz - small talk sentiment
  • Gems
You can see more of the foiling on the images with the side view.

I hope you had a nice weekend.

My hubby is replacing out deck, he has done 85% of the work all by himself, I have helped with what I can. We are now on the home stretch, we have to start building the rails and install the step yet, getting so close, can't wait to sit out their and enjoy it :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and say Hi,
