Memorial Day

I hope everyone gets the chance to take some time out today to remember those Men and Women who have given so much of theirselves for our freedom and what we have .  May God bring Peace to those families who have lost their family members recently , praying for that day when they can all come home.

This card is going to my brother and it will be late.... I can't seem to keep up with things here lately, but that will change soon.

Stampscapes stamped image, sponged the background with bundled sage distress inks for the grassy area and Colorbox-robins egg for the sky.
Distress inks were used for all the coloring too, peeled paint for the trees and bushes, dried marigold for the roof, and tea dye for the house, I mixed a little of the marigold and tea dye for the door and shading.
All of that is framed using the Spellbinders Curved Rectangles.  The paper is from G.C.D. studio's loverly collection, tore the paper to stamp the sentiment from Hero Arts.
The buttons were found at a flea market and I added floss to them.

Hope you are all enjoying a lovely weekend, we are getting our hot summer weather.  We are having one of my husbands co-workers over for a little cook out before they both have to work tonight.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a safe day :)

Sympathy with fragment

I finally used a Tim Holtz tag fragment.  I bought these ages ago, and just never remembered to use them, so the other day I got them out of the drawer and put them on my desk, and when I was making this card and wanted a sentiment I looked over and saw them and thought nows the time...LOL...

I used another clipart image here, behind that I stamped an Inkadinkado script stamp onto green cardstock and then cut it out with the deckle spellbinder die. Sorry I forgot to look at what the paper maker was before I adhered it to the card.
I used one of my crocheted flowers with a Basic Grey brad.  And the Fragment was adhered to the sentiment that was stamped with Impression Obsession stamp with the glossy accents.

Yesterday was one of those crazy days, we checked our door on the car and the lock was jammed again, this is the door my husband tore apart and fixed the other day, so he tore it apart again and said it was stuck so bad this time he had to take a screwdriver to unstick it.  So we went to a few different part stores they can't get the item.  Went to actual ford dealership they don't have the part and can't get it from Detroit until sometime after we are leaving for our daughters wedding, but a town 1 1/2 hours north of us has it in stock if we wanted to drive up there, isn't that crazy that they can't ship from store to store.  Anyway we decide to drive up there but my daughter was coming home for a her last foot appointment before getting married.  That's a whole other story, how our government won't pay for my child's health insurance until she is 26 when she gets married but other insurance's do.  We had to drive her car there because ours is torn apart and half way there the car started sounding funny but we just wanted to get to her appointment.  We came out and started driving again and the sound got worse so we pulled over and here she has a flat tire.  Her fiance's car is a Honda with low profile tires and they are hard to find, but our dealership here in town has one left and won't get more until July.  My husband had to come on a very busy road, pump the tire up enough for me to drive it somewhere safe to have him put the spare tire on so we could drive to the Honda dealership.  By the time this was all taken care of it was 4:40 and we wouldn't make it in time up to the dealership, so now we have to run up there today before he goes to work tonight.  It seems like these last few weeks leading up to the wedding has been just one thing after another.

Hope your week is going smoother than ours,
Take care and thanks for stopping by,
Connie

Birthday blossoms

Image is from a clip art CD, framed on a Martha Stewart corner and border punch. Buttons from forever in time threaded with floss.  Paper was in my scrap drawer but I beleive it is Making memories, if I am wrong please let me know.

I am thankful for clipart images when you are running out of time and need to get a card done quickly. I also had the border cut out from an earlier project that I didn't end up using, so this came together quite quickly.

Pray that those you know and love are  making it through these storms ok.  They are saying the one in Joplin is the deadliest storm since the one that hit Flint Michigan back in 1953.  Just through our country 488 people have died in Tornado's, it makes you sit up and take more notice when storms are coming through, I guess you always think it isn't going to hit you.  We were awaken by our dog this morning and the wind was kicking up quite strong and the sky looked very weird, but all is well now, hoping to get my running around done before the storms come tonight, they are predicting tornado warnings for tonight.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Just-rite Birdhouse

My LSS store got these stamps in and I just had to give it a try I have seen so many beautiful cards done with this stamp set, I would have colored this over but I just got this out in the mail in time for her birthday, I am usually never this behind in my cards, but things have been a bit busy here lately.

Just-rite Bird Houses stamps, colored with Pencils. Spellbinder circle and eyelet circle to frame it, I popped the middle image out.
 Fiskar border punch.
Spellbinder for the sentiment rectangle and used Impression Obsession stamp for sentiment.
DCWV Garden party stack paper.
The flowers were given to me in a RAK and I added buttons from Forever in time to them.  Martha Stewart leaf punch which I embossed.

Yesterday was moving day for our daughter.  We moved her out of the dorms right into her apartment.  Our truck with a topper was full with the stuff from her room here.  We unpacked all that and then went to her dorm and packed the truck all over again with everything from her dorm.  She lived upstairs in her dorm and their apartment is upstairs, so I have done enough stairs that I don't care to do stairs again for quite some time.  It was neat though watching them get excited about planning their home together.  She could really use a kitchen that is twice the size she has, but they will only be here one more year, so I think they will manage.

Well now it is time for me to get caught up on all that I put off while packing things up for the move,
Thanks so much for stopping by,

Graduation

Our Future Son -in-law is graduating from college this Sunday.

The background paper and images are from the  Easy Scrapbooking Calendar.  I used a fiskar border punch on the strip and added a few pebbles glitter candy dots.

I bought the containers to use for the centerpieces for the wedding yesterday, it is all coming so quickly. His church where they are getting married has a big screen and they want me to get pictures around of Amanda from childhood til now, so I need to get working on that, and we have to get all Amanda's things around from her room this weekend because on Monday we will be moving her out of the dorms into her new apartment. It is going to be so weird not to have her come home from college anymore, can you tell I am getting a bit sentimental, going to miss my little girl.

Well I hope you all are enjoying a good week,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Jumpin Frogs

I will say right now, kids cards give me as much trouble as Masculine cards..... The Frog images are from sticker a day scrapbookers calendar. Spellbinder dies to frame the pocket image.

The papers are Sassafras from the count me in pack. Used a little ink to dirty up the torn strip.  The Hoppy is Making Memories rub on.  The birthday sticker is from a sheet of free stickers I got in the mail from Creating keepsakes I believe.

After alot of rain over the weekend we are seeing sun again, even though the temps have been on the cooler side, it is still great to see that sun again.

We are having craft night at my house tonight, the church is being used tonight for a function, it will be nice to have the girls over.

Hope you all are able to get away from chores and have some creative time.
Thanks so much for stopping by and all your kind comments, it means alot,
Connie

Love

I have another wedding shower to go to today, this girl is getting married the same day my daughter is getting married.

The stamped image is from American crafts, fiskar sentiment was cut out with spellbinder die, as well as the framing of it all.  K& co. paper.
In the ribbon I placed a pin that Sabrina sent to me, I added a couple more beads to it.  If you get the time you should check out her blog, she does gorgeous work.

Well it is raining her today and the temperature has changed dramatically, our low two nights ago is what our high is going to be today, crazy weather that's for sure.

Hope you all have a GREAT weekend,
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Connie

Mother's Day

I still had this card on my camera.  I lost my mom on Mothers Day in 2002, and miss her like crazy, we were very close and I am so glad I have that same relationship with my daughter, now that my daughter will be getting married very soon, I am missing her all the more, wishing she could be here to see it.
This card went to my Mother-in-law, and she loved it.

The Flower image is from HOTP Victorian Rose 3-D Paper Tole.  I mounted it onto the spellbinder Oval and Lacey Oval dies, then layered that onto a Martha Stewart border and corner punches.  The paper is from Anna Griffin.  Made the tag with the Paper Pizaazz  slide mount mania template, and added the sentiment with a Impression Obsession stamp.

Here is a side view of the card so you can see the dimension you get, and I was able to mail it normal too, that is an extra bonus :)

Today is running around day, lot of errands to get done,
Thanks for stopping by and for all your kind comments,
Connie

Spring Birthday

I found this stamp at a Flea Market it is from Stampin up, and it made me think of spring and how it would make a good spring card.  It has been colored with Prisma and Tombow markers, chalking for the sky.  Sassafras "count me in" paper. Sentiment tag was done using Martha Stewart and Marvy punches and a Hero arts sentiment stamp.

Glitter pen was used on the bees wings and some of the flowers, can't see that in this shot, and added a gem flower to the sentiment, image cut out with spellbinder square die.

They are saying we may break a record today and get up to 93, it is really nice out this morning, I did some weeding this morning because the sun wasn't out to hot yet and it is getting a little crazy in some of my flower beds.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by today,
Connie

Black & White

I feel like I have had to make way to many sympathy cards in the past few months, it is just so sad. A girl at church lost her sister to cancer.

It is hard to see where the card ends with the dark shadow in the background. The swirl flower image is from Inkadinkado, the butterflies are from Martha Stewart punch and I added some stampendous glitter like stickers to them. Used the spellbinders deckle rectangles for framing.
Kaiser craft sentiment also cut out with spellbinder die and Queen and co. rhinestones.  Paper is Best Occasion (wal-mart).

Hope your having a great start to your weekend,
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Connie

Overlay

I took a picture of this card on a very sunny morning, so I have a harsh black background from the shade of the card, and since I pop dotted the overlay you can see a double image of it making it look blurry.

The overlay is from Hot Off the Press, I used a spellbinder die to frame it. Liquid pearls in Platinum pearl was used on the scallops. Embossing folder is from Cuttlebug called birds and swirls.
Border punch is a Martha Stewart punch as well as the leaf punch.  Flower base is from Tattered florals sizzix die and smaller blue flower is EK success punch, with Shabby shutters distress stickles in the center.

So excited spent a few hours outside yesterday, putting in some new soil in the garden, and putting up fencing since the rabbits have decided that they would love to eat my strawberry plants, and  planting Green Peppers, I have room for two more plants but haven't decided what I want to plant yet, plus my husband wanted to try one of those topsy turvy tomato planters so we will see how that goes, has anyone else tried that....I have heard good and bad about them so I guess will see how it goes.

We are going this afternoon to pick up my daughters wedding dress, let's hope they did a good job on the alterations, wow time is just flying by, June is coming quick.

Hope your enjoying a wonderful day and that you have a GREAT weekend too :)

Friend Birthday

This card started with the Tattered Floral flowers from Sizzix that I had on my desk still from doing my daughters card box for the wedding.  Then I started going through paper and just loved the color of this paper from the Crafty Stack from DCWV. Remembered I had some Basic Grey brads that I thought would go great with it to tie in the flower. The Fiskar ribbon was allready gathered.  I used Salmon Pearl Pens on the flowers in the paper and added the bronze pearl pens along with the sentiment stamp.  One of those cards that just comes together perfectly :)

Now that I see it uploaded the ribbon looks alot darker than the cardstock in the flower, but in real life they were very close.

Another sunny morning, wow that is two in a row.... although they say we are having temps like it is still March instead of May, but I guess I would rather have it a little more chilly then so hot you can't enjoy going out.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment, it is much appreciated :)
