Snowboarding

Wow the last day of 2011, it was quite the year.  We had some crazy storms this year, thankfully we made it through them ok.  Our Daughter got married in the summer and is very happy!
Feel very blessed.

My card today is for my nephew, pre-teen.  I used Sticker a day image, will be showing that at end of post.
Fiskar cloud punch
Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder, used grey whale ink on the torn pieces to define the hills
sky ice blue ink on the kraft cardstock for sky
Made a little sign for the Inkadinkado sentiment stamp

A few days later I needed a card for my Great Nephew who is 16 this year and couldn't think of anything, he is always talking how much he wants snow so I decided to do him a card with the same theme as my nephews.

Same sticker for the image
Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl Embossing folder, put white ink over the swirls
Inkadinkado sentiment, didn't notice until posting the picture that when I put  the ink around the edges I had smeared the sentiment.
Flower soft in Polar white was added for the snow

For those that haven't seen these sticker calendars I thought I would share with you what I mean when I say I get my images from a sticker calendar.

As you can see I have a few more snowboarders I can use at a future date :)

We plan on staying home tonight and just playing games with the kids.
Hope you all have a great evening,
Thanks so much for stopping by,

Seasons Greetings

My Last Christmas card posting of the year.

Papers and die cuts all My Minds Eye, layered onto Kraft cardstock.

The sentiment from Plaid was stamped using Stazon since the die cuts have a slick surface.

Amanda and Zach made it home yesterday and we had our Christmas with them, so good to have them in the house again :)

Hope you all are enjoying your week,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Santa

Yes I still have some Christmas cards to post.....  This image came from Jennifer she was sweet enough to send me a couple images last year and I had already made all my cards for that year so I used her image this year.  I just love the way she colors him, and if you check back to previous years you can see how she has used him in the past..... hope you get some time to check out her blog.

I colored him with pencils, and added twinkling like stars at you spica pen to his beard. Aleene's Paper Glaze on his glasses and Anitque Linen Distress ink around the image.

My Minds Eye O Christmas tree paper pack

Adam Pescott sentiment stamp and star

Martha Stewart Holly punch w/ Xmas red stickles for the berries.

We received our first snow of the year, I would say close to a 1/2 inch, but it is all melting now and pretty quickly too,  I can hear it dripping out there.  Made my husband happy :)

Thanks so much for taking out the time to stop by,

Christmas Eve

I colored this Image from Adam Pescott Winter wonder collection with Markers.  My husband came in right when I finished it and I told him I wasn't happy with the coloring and I wanted to give it to our Daughter and Son in law for Christmas.  He told me to stamp off another and he would give it a try.
While he was coloring the image, I decided to use my image for a card for my girlfriend that I have had since we were babies, we grew up next door to each other.

I used Spellbinder Classic oval and Labels nine dies.
My Minds Eye Winter papers and DCWV cardstock.
Ribbon Straight n Narrow
Sentiment from same image stamp set.
Martha Stewart border punch.
Button from holiday button pack at Hobby Lobby.

This is the image that my hubby colored, I like how he did the sky.  He used Dick Blick Markers.
Same spellbinder dies as my card, but this time I put a doily behind it.
Martha Stewart snowflake with Stickles added.
Sentiment is from the same stamp set as the image, cut out with Martha Stewart punch.
Tim Holtz Vintage shabby papers.

Wishing you all a lovely night as we prepare for the birth of our Savior!

Here is a closeup of one of them.

I made my last Christmas card today and got it in the mail....YEA!!! I did it!!  I am finishing up one more gift for my girlfriend, will see her at church on Christmas eve, so I have some time to get that done :)

Stockings

A big Thank you to my sister! She sent these diecuts by Gartner studios, they had foam stickers with them, and it sure helped get my cards done quicker.  I put my Nieces and Nephews kids names on the stockings, I think I had enough stockings for these 3 cards to have 3 stockings each and I had two left over so I ended up sending my nephew that has 2 kids that one.

My neice wrote me an email and said the kids thought that was so cool that their names were on the stockings and they told her they wanted the card hung by their stockings.  She said when people come over that the kids show them the card, that is so neat to hear :)

Here is a close up of the one I sent to my sisters grandkids.
Spellbinder Labels 4

Inkadinkado Christmas season sentiment stamp.  I stamped it with Essentials Glue pad and added Martha Stewart glitter on top of that.  The little stockings already had glitter on them.

My minds eye O Christmas tree paper pack, the paper has embossed sleighs.

Another rainy day here :(  I need to get out and get some running around done too, I am going to look at it as it could be icy out there and that would really make it a rough day so I will be happy with what I have.

Hope your week is going well,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Manger Ornament

I used Clear Scraps Acrylic Shapes for a template to cut out the ornament shapes.

Inkadinkado Christmas season stamp set.  Colored with markers and chalk. Silver ink for the top. Stickles on the star.

Adam Pescott sentiment stamp on a Martha Stewart tag punch.

Offray Silver ribbon.

My Minds Eye O Christmas Tree paper pack.

Here is a close up of one of them.  I made 9 cards for all our siblings.

Had a good time last night of Fellowship and Bible study at our Pastors house.  Usually I am with the little ones down in the toddler room, but I asked someone else to take my place so that I could go with my Husband, it is always good to get away from all the present buying and commercial side of Christmas and just remember the reason why we celebrate this time.

Hope you all get that time to just be quiet and calm and celebrate that most wonderful gift we were ever given.... Our Savior!

Have a wonderful week,

ODBDSLC87

First off this is the book mark I made for the challenge over at Our Daily Bread design. You can find the challenge here.

Beate did a wonderful tutorial on how to do this book mark and you can find that here.

I made this for my husbands birthday, I made one the other day for my girlfriends birthday, can you believe I forgot to take a picture.... my husband made a comment that others that like to read could use one of those, figured he was hinting so I made this one for him.

I used ODBD Quiet Waters stamp set and colored it with colored pencils and OMS.

I used these colors of cardstock because he likes them together. Cardstock is from Paper co.
Spellbinder circle and Square dies.
Martha Stewart border punch and the designer paper was from my scrap pile.

Here is a close up of the bookmark:

Now onto his card, I used the same cardstock on the bottom piece I stamped stampin up background, another one I bought at the flea market and don't know the name of.... maybe Susan knows this one too ;)
Image stamp is from PSX, this is one of my very first stamps.

Spellbinder deckles rectangles die and Labels trio die for the sentiment which is from Hero Arts, all occasion messages stamp set.

The bottom paper and the strips I used for the corners are from DCWV  Once upon a time mat stack.

Well my hubby caught my cold, just in time for his Birthday, sure hope he feels good enough to do some celebrating tonight.

Collage

Spellbinder die to cut it out.

Martha Stewart border punch.

HOTP Ivory papers pack.

Paper Salon sentiment stamp.

Bronze Pearl Pen on the EK success corner punch.

This was the second card I made for church and no it didn't sell, it's funny the ones I didn't like as much sold and the ones I love I still have, go figure.   In fact I only sold 3 cards out of 12.  One of the girls that had her crocheted items in the sale said that it wasn't in the bulletin about it nor did they announce it before the service, so she said not very much sold at all because unless people happen to go back into the fellowship hall they didn't know about it.  I don't know if she was trying to make me feel better or what but I figure what I don't use for myself I can give them again for the next time they do it.   They also put a price of $2.50 on them, I don't think that was too much was it?  Please be honest.

We did manage to get our lights up outside, wellll almost all of them, still have to decorate our porch poles, but my hubby came down with my cold now and so who knows when he is going to feel up to finishing it.   Now to get my inside finished, I think this has got to be the latest I have ever taken to get my Christmas decorations up.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

Dragonfly Box

I thought I would share the other box my husband made today.

Purchased box at Hobby Lobby.  Painted with Acrylic paints, the sunflower along the sides was a stencil, he put the pattern on with a pencil and then painted it in with gold and black paints.

The clay is the Premo clay.  He combined the gold and black to get that marble effect on some of the tiles.

Not sure the maker of the dragonfly stamp, but if your interested I can ask him and get back with you.  I believe he put perfect pearls inside the dragonfly to bring out the detail and then put glaze over it to keep it on the tiles.

Very tired today from helping our friends move yesterday, but we had a perfect day for the move, sunny and in the low 50's, couldn't have asked for anything better and it went pretty smootly too.

Hope you have a Great weekend,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Well I did make it to the Ladies bible study last night but I got there just in time. Then  one of the ladies in our group needed a ride home after and so I totally forgot to go upstairs and pick up the cards that didn't sell, was so bummed when I got home and realized it, so I guess I won't be finding out now until Sunday, I am just hoping I remember then, it stinks getting old and not remembering things :)

We are helping friends of ours move this afternoon, hopefully it warms up by then.

Caning

I just love these Martha Stewart punch around the page punches.  This one is called Caning Pattern.

I used K&co. paper for the punching and the the background piece.

Inkadinkado Garden Flowers stamp set for the flower and cut it out.  I colored it with pencils and added Stickles to the center.

The sentiment is a Anita Stamp, cut out with Spellbinders dies of  Lacey circles. Bronze Pearl pen under sentiment.

Spellbinder Foliage die.

Thank you for all the get well wishes.  I think ever since I had Bronchitis, whenever I do get a cold I get it good.  Since my husband hasn't caught it he thinks I might have allergies but I know this is a cold.  It has been making it's way through the church.

I was told not all my cards sold but she isn't sure how many was left, if I make it to Ladies Bible study tonight I should find out how many were left.

Well we got below freezing last night, thank goodness that storm had allready went through or we would have gotten some snow, I am just not ready for that.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Have a GREAT day,

Mulberry Paper Rose

I started this card off with the Martha Stewart Punch around the page die and the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady paper and tag.

The flowers in the paper reminded me of those paper thin wild roses, and I thought well maybe I can make one of those, so I took Paper Studio mulberry paper and cut it out with Spellbinder Big Scalloped Circles Lg.  I did this card awhile ago so I am trying to think how many layers I did but I think it was 2-3 of each of the three smallest size dies.  Then I misted them with some Tattered Rose Glimmer mist and then crunched them all up, let them sit for awhile and then careful pulled them apart, layered them and put the brad through the center and scrunched again, I was pretty happy with the results. Added some Martha Stewart leaf punch, which I did some embossing on to make veins.

Hand stitching around the punched out piece and added some Lemon Yellow Liquid Pearls to the center.

Well one step forward and two steps back is how I feel this morning, I was able to get a few things done yesterday but still thought it was a pretty easy day, but this morning I woke up feeling yucky again, I keep telling myself that they say these colds last anywhere from 7-10 days so maybe this one is just going to last 10 days, today is the 7 day mark.

I NEED to get groceries, so my hubby said this evening he would go with me, so no craft night with the ladies tonight.  :-(

I hope you all are doing well, and didn't get too much snow, we were lucky here and it went just around us, although my hubby is bummed he wants snow for some reason.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

Alien Birthday

Image is from the Print Artist CD
Framed it with the Spellbinder Inverted Scalloped Square
I thought this K&co. paper worked great for sky
Studio G sentiment
The star is from the same package that my sister sent me, I added yellow stickles to it to give it some shine

I didn't make it through church yesterday, I took some medicine to hopefully keep me from coughing and sneezing and it hit me like a ton of bricks, so I don't know how well my cards went over at the sale, will let you know when I hear.

Still trying to get better, boy this cold really hit me hard.  Yesterday all I did after coming home from church is just lay on the couch and I slept on and off all day and then was still able to go to bed last night and sleep a whole night, that is really unusual for me.

Today is all cold and gloomy, makes me want to just go back to bed, but I should try to get a little bit accomplished today, and see how I do.

Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing weekend,

Today is our last day with the kids they are going back today to get ready for the week ahead.  My daughter has alot of big things coming up in the next couple of weeks.

Since I still don't have my energy level back up and still can't talk very well we watched a couple of movies and played some Tetris Party on the Wii yesterday.  No one here got out into all that Black Friday mess, but we have to go to the shoe store today and get my Son in law some shoes and my Daughter is deciding if she wants her Birthday meal out today or wait for when she comes home around New years, I sure hope it still won't be too crazy out there, not sure I am up to it yet.

Hope you all enjoy a good weekend,

Clay tiles

My husband Greg had decided he wanted to try making tiles out of  Sculpey Clay.  He did a little work with clay quite a few years ago but never tiles.  This is his first attempt, might as well go big huh :)

He started with a box he found at Hobby Lobby that had a top perfect for laying tiles into.  He rolled all the clay by hand and says he might like to get a pasta machine if he does these much more, he just couldn't achieve the same height in them all.  He raided some of my stamps to make the impressions and some charms we had in our craft stash too.... which reminded me that I need to start using them on cards again too.

He painted the tiles after they were heated in the oven with Acrylic paints, all different brands some were mettalic paint.  The box is also painted acrylic paints.

His sisters name and the date were done with clay alphabet & numbers impression plate made for clay products, and I believe that is called Premo clay, there are a few more of those tiles throughout the background.  My husband says they are alot lighter than the normal clay and can be shaved after baking very easily.  I think that kind is meant to be used for jewelry but I am not sure.

On each side he painted a different season, this one is summer.

                                                                         winter

                                                                             Autumn

                                                                     Spring

I hope you enjoyed seeing a different craft for a change, it's always neat to see different things every once in awhile, at least I do.  He has made another one and maybe I will share that later.

Just incase you want to dabble in the clay world that premo clay is light enough to put on a card, I see original tags to make with them, or making impressions with your stamps.  Word of caution though,  Greg used one of my clear stamps on the clay and it seemed to react with it, but the rubber stamps seemed to be just fine, so I would stick to rubber stamps only with the clay.  Also wash the clay residue off after working with the clay.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Have a Wonderful weekend!
