Today is the day

It had been awhile since I have played with my 49 and Market goodies so I got them out for the birthday card I needed. I find I love putting together, these papers, rub ons and ephemera as much as I like stamping and die cutting.

  • 49 and Market - Vintage Artistry Essentials 6x8 paper and Nature Study General Laser Cut Elements
  • Crystal Dots

Best Wishes

Time to do some more stamping and add a bird of course :)  I hadn't used my Gina K Wreath builder template in quite some time so I broke it out along with some stamps I had found at the Dollar store, this set had 11 stamps in it, and they stamp well too. I stamped colored and fussy cut 3 of the flowers and popped them up on the wreath.

  • Crafter's Square - Stamp set
  • Gemini - Torn Edge Circle die
  • Gina K - Wreath builder template
  • Crafter's companion - Advent calendar 2022 - Paper and sentiment tag
  • Poppystamps - Nordic Bird Bunch die
  • Ribbon

I would like to share my card today with Double D Challenge Springtime flowers

Christmas Bunnies

In our cardmaking group, Cindi who posts our Christmas challenges, always posts on the first of the month.  So on April 1st she said she wanted us to use Bunnies on our cards, she also gave us a sketch to use if we wanted.  At the end of her post she said April Fool's but said if we actually did have bunnies to go ahead and use them.

So I went looking through my Christmas stuff and came across another cardmaking magazine from the UK that had these decoupage pieces that you punch out and sure enough there were bunnies with the snowmen :)  I will be hand delivering them to my local friends since there is so much layering and dimension.

This first one as I was going along the way they had cut them they just were not lining up well so I would go in and try to trim to the one below, it was a bit of a pain.

  • Quick cards magazine - Somebunny  to Love Decoupage pieces and papers
  • Stickles - Diamond for snow fall

On this next one before putting it together I fussy cut around each image so that I could line them up better and that worked very well.

  • Quick cards magazine - Somebunny  to Love Decoupage pieces and tag
  • Stickles - Diamond for snow fall
  • My Mind's eye - Winter papers for background
  • gems

The magazine also had bunny stamps, so I picked this one with them all in a stocking, too cute. I was able to bend the sentiment stamp just enough to go around the arch of the oval. Paper was given to me by my Sister in law.

  • Quick Cards magazine - Somebunny to Love stamp, colored w/markers
  • Spellbinders - Lacey Ovals die
  • Simon Says stamps - Tiny Words Christmas sentiment stamp
  • White gel pen for details on the stocking
I will be doing 3 cards with the sketch she provided too in another post :)

I would like to share my card with Peace on earth Challenge

Smoosh Technique

Our group got together for another on line card making session. This time we did a little ink smooshing, using our acrylic blocks, adding some water base ink pens to the acrylic block, misting with some water and then applying to the card.  We got our measurements a little off, I should have went in farther from the outside of the card, like 3/4 of an inch instead of 1/4 inch, but it still worked out I think so I went with it.

Since I don't mail square cards since that costs more I will be hand delivering this card to my friend.

  • Inkadinkado - Birds Galore stamp and Victorian Inchie bundle for the sentiment
  • Spectrum Aqua pens applied to acrylic block misted and stamped on card base
Inside of card:

  • Spellbinders - Decorative Labels Eight and Anemone Flower die
  • Memory box - Woodland Branch die
  • Impression Obsession- Spring bird die
  • Stampendous - Birthday Assortment sentiment stamp
We were given the measurements for the inside pop up and this is how I decorated it.

On the second card I did a 5 x 6 1/2 inch card instead of square so that I could mail it. As you see I did both panels wrong, the squares should be closer together. I like this one more because I used my favorite colors.

  • Inkadinkado - Garden Delight stamp set
  • Ink Smooshing by inking acrylic block, misting with water and stamping on background
  • Simon Says - Tiny words Birthday sentiment stamp
  • Paper Studio - Silkscreen Embossing folder
  • Lace
  • Queen & Co. - Pink Petite Posies (gems)

I would like to share this last card with Can you handle the pressure Twist of Rainbow, the smooshing kind of has a feel of rainbow colors

He Has Risen!!

HE is Risen indeed, these are the last two of the Easter cards I made this year.  I wanted to use a cross and I thought that I could emboss some kraft cardstock and cut them into strips.  I added a couple sticker flowers to finish it off. The background was done with a stencil, the stencil is not big enough for the card, so I inked half the background and then flipped the paper and did the other half.

  • Crafter's Companion - wood grain embossing folder from kraft cardstock, inking and cut in strips
  • Tim Holtz - Rays stencil, inked half the background and flipped and inked the other half
  • Recollections - stickers

How thankful I am for a Risen Savior who died for my sins, gives me grace, guidance, love and hope.
May you all know of this wonderful gift that we don't deserve that was given to us, because he loves us all that much!

Hugs,
Connie

For you

I was in need of another male birthday card with no inspiration so I started going through all my stuff and came across these images from a cardmaking magazine and went with that, adding a die cut vine to give it a little something extra.

  • Papercraft Essentials magazine - Highland collection (paper, image and sentiment)
  • Poppystamps - Climbing vines die

We are once again getting a lot of rain, but thankfully no flooding so far, looks like Easter will be a wash out too.

Washi inspired

I just love blue and white plates and bowls, I actually put them on my wedding list and my older sister bought us two place settings, and that is all we got.  I never have bought anymore, but I still love it to this day. Well when I saw Connie's post from Crafty Home cottage where she used this beautiful washi tape on her kitchen cupboards, I thought oh I need to get some of that and use it on my cards, she told me she found them on Amazon, so away I went and found all kinds there, using a little bit of it here on my card for borders.  I used one of my coloring calendar images that I thought would be a perfect design to go with it.

  • Coloring for calm calendar image 2018 - colored w/pencils
  • Tim Holtz - Field Notes Ephemera pack (butterfly)
  • Paper Studio - Antiquity paper
  • Starform - Sentiment sticker
  • Martha Stewart - Pearl
