Oooopps... Too late

I made this card for the Our Daily Bread Challenge  ODBDSLC127, but I forgot to post it in time.
The challenge was to use items on your card using the letters of leaf and you had to use at least 3, I used an actual leaf for the letter L.  Embossing for the E and a flower for the F.

ODBD Porch sentiment stamp
Silk leaf
Sizzix embossing folder, I inked the raised portions of the folder to give the leaves color
Spellbinder Carnation Creation and Back to Basics Tags dies

My daughter said they weren't effected too bad by the storm so that is good news, I pray for all those families that are displaced and will have to start all over again.

Hope all is well where you are,
Thanks for stopping by,

Lighthouse

This is another stamp I picked up while in Boston, my Brother in laws birthday is in October so I just had to color the leaves with fall colors :)

Northwoods stamp, colored with Distress and copic markers, stickles on the water
October Afternoon--Seaside papers
Impression Obsession sentiment stamp
Spellbinders Labels 7  die for the sentiment tag
Twine from LSS
Charm was one in my stash, not sure the maker

My daughter didn't have to go into work today and my son in law doesn't have any classes at the University, sure hope they don't lose power in their area, I was so glad to hear they could ride out the storm at home and they wouldn't have to ride their bikes or walk in this mess.  Praying everyone makes it through the storm safely.

Hope you had a good weekend and the week ahead is filled with only good things,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Spooky Challenge

Paper Crafts Blog has a challenge to do a spooky card, you can find it HERE .

I ended up doing this one for my daughter and son in law.

Inkadinkado stamp, embossed with black embossing powder
Background for the stamp was made by, coloring an Acrylic block with distress markers, misting with water and laying the piece of watercolor paper over the block to pick up the inks

Spellbinders Classic oval and Ironworks Accents for the top and bottom, the diecut was cut in half so it would accent the top and bottom, it is hard to see but I used a piece of a border die on top of the black and white polka dot paper

Echo Park Apothecary Emporium paper pack

Today has turned colder, we are only in the 50's, quite a big change when we had been in the 80's and low 70's yesterday.

Hope you all will enjoy a Fantastic weekend,

Rainy Day Sketch

Susan posted her sketch for October and I needed a masculine card and thought this would work great, you can find her details here on her blog . She is also giving away a set of Tim Holtz stamps if you play along.

Studio G stamps (pumpkins), colored with markers, cut out and foam tape to pop them up
Recollections leaf stamped border
Hampton Art sentiment stamp
Ribbon is recycled
McGill square punch w/black enamel accents for the dots

Well they are telling us it is going to get up to 86 today, and I guess that will break a record if we do, and then it will be in the 50's the rest of the week, so I am going to get out there today and finish up some touches up of painting that needs to be done to the deck while my hubby puts up my new bird feeder for me.

I mentioned we went on a hike and picnic this past Sunday, so I thought I would share a couple pictures.

Yes that is me on our picnic and my hubby decided to get a pic of me right after I took a bite and yes my mouth is full.

This is the part of the trail that we walked and it led us down to one of the inlets on the lake and to the right of this is where the laked opened up, I just love the colors in this shot.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope your enjoying a good week, with some great weather,
Connie

Baby Quilt

Here is the baby quilt I made for my nephew's new baby girl that will be arriving soon.... I found this quilt through Pinterest and just loved it.  The girl used clothes from her child to make it, so I had to shop for new fabric but I like how it turned out.  Hers measured 50"x 50", I ended up doing a 3' x 5', just incase they wanted to use it in a crib, plus I didn't have the correct amount of backing fabric to do a square quilt.

I didn't get the binding sewn on until I was at my Dad's house and realized just before putting it in the gift bag I needed a picture of it so my sister is standing behind the quilt holding it up for me, looking at it now I had her hold it upside down, I made sure and had all the print fabric facing the same way when sewing it together.

Hope you had a good weekend, after church yesterday we took a drive to a lake that is about an hour north of us to see the fall colors, it wasn't nearly as pretty as Michigan was when I was there but being along the lake was a nice calming time, and we took a hike through a trail that took us down to the lake on the other side so that was neat, it was 76 degrees yesterday so it was like an indian summer, just love those days :)

Hope you enjoy a wonderful week,

Welcome New Baby

This was for my nephew and his girlfriend who are having their first baby soon.  I colored the hair on the baby an Auburn color because he has that coloring in his hair and I am wondering if the baby will have his color.  Yes it is going to be a girl :)

I forgot to write down the paper but I think it is Mellisa Frances but not sure.

I used the Penny Black Fantasy stamp (tree) and colored it using the Tim Holtz Distress markers, spritzed it with a little water before stamping, love the results :)  Shading around the edges

Still not caught up on everything, from being away but getting there.  We had some big storms go through last night and now it is quite chilly, after having a couple of really warm days, but the sun is shinning once again, that always lifts me up!

Back again!!

Well I was gone for a week to Michigan, wanted to go to see my Dad who was going through a few test and Doctor visits and I also was able to meet my nephews girl friend who is having their baby very soon, and attend their baby shower, I will have the card and the quilt I made for that in a few days.

First a card for my nephew (in his 30's) that has gone through a very rough week last week.  He was hopsitalized for a very bad infection and if he can slow down long enough for it to heal that would be nice :)  He was let go on the day of his birthday and this is the card I sent him.

My Favortie Things, Just my type stamp and dienamics I stamped the typewriter on Grey cardstock
Papers are all from 7 Gypsies, Conservatory paper pad
Did some inking around the sentiment paper and background papers to give it a bit of an age look

It was a quick card but I liked how it turned out.

So good to be back and can't wait to have a chance to see what you all have been doing while I was away.

Have a Wonderful week,
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Connie

Flora and Fauna

This flower image came in a package of Vellum and Cardstock Diecuts from K&co. called
Flora and Fauna.
The image on vellum is quite big, so my card had to be a 5x6 I believe.
I used the largest Spellbinder Romantic Rectangles die and the Back to basics tags die

The paper in the background is from Creative Imagination called Vintage Stripe
Hero Arts, Birthday Messages stamp set for the sentiment
Button added to the tag with a floss bow

We started off this morning with a lovely pink sunrise that quickly turned into a rain storm, we are to have gloomy skies the rest of the day with on and off rain.  Sure hope it gets out of it system, we are hoping to attend a fall festival tomorrow.

Wishing you good weather for your weekend, and lots of fun!
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

New Job

When I was going through the calendar images for my great nephew the other day I found this image and it made me think of my daughter who just got a job at Harvard as Staff assistant and I thought it might work for a Congrats card :)

Mary Englebreit daily calendar image
DCWV , Garden Party paper
Cuttlebug Corner die
Studio G sentiment (to the left of the image, good job)
Queen & Co. Baby Blue Rhinestones (under image)

The forecast is turning chilly after today, we should start to see changes in the leaves soon, a few of the small trees have started to change, I hope it is still pretty after we had such a bad drought this summer.

Hope your having a great week,
Thanks for stopping by,
Connie

Paisley

I forgot to post the other card I made for the girl at church that gave me some stamps.  Her husband is being deployed so I thought I would make a card that she might like to send to him while he is gone.

My Minds Eye paper
Spellbinders Labels Twenty-three dies
Stampendous Sincere Sentiments stamp
Clear Arts, Bird Notes stamp (bird) hand cut it out
McGill Designer pine punch

We had our Harvest Festival at Church yesterday and it went very well, I was in charge of the food once again and although it was very busy everything went smoothly.  We were blessed not to have any rain since we had alot of it in our forecast this past week and the week ahead has a lot of rain in the forecast.

Wishing you a great week ahead,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
