Well it is almost 3:00 pm as I am writing this and it is 105 degrees out there.  My hubby and I did a little bit of errands this morning and by the end it was just getting too HOT out there.  I bet my daughter wishes she lived closer so she could drop by and hang out in the air conditioning.    I hope you all are doing well in this heat.

Heal well

Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles die
Paper from my latest Carmaking and Papercrafts magazine
Words to the Rescue -Get well stamp set
Dashes, dots and checks ribbon
Flower gem

Well starting tomorrow we are suppose to start seeing temps in the 100's.  It figures just in time for my Husbands days off, I am sure it will go back down after he has to return back to work, just so that it will make getting stuff around the house a little harder to do.   Poor Peanut wants to go out on the deck and lay in the sun but she doesn't last too long and just looks sad sitting by the door looking out at the sun, wishing she could be out there.

Tile decal

I found these tile decals at the $ store a few years ago, thought they would make pretty images for cards.  They are to decorate your plain tiles in your kitchen or bathroom.  They come in squares but I applied it to cardstock and then cut it out so I could pop it onto a paper doily.

Main Street Wall creations (tile decal)
Papertrey ink Text-style hodge podge papers
Martha stewart tag punch
Stamped sentiment
Twine LSS
Fiskar Border punch
Paper Doily
Stickles on the dragonflies wings

Sailing

This had to be sent to my brother out of the country so I had to come up with something without too much bulk.  It is very rare that I make a card without any designer paper.

The border and the boat are Provocraft Vellum stickers called Fish all day, I added a score line just above the border.
Eyelets with twine from my LSS for corner treatment.
Hampton Arts doodlebug designs sentiment stamp, I liked the flag in the sentiment to go with the boat.
I used crushed olive distress ink for the shading along  the edges.

Has anyone else been checking out the new Spellbinder dies coming out, I still haven't had a chance to get all the ones I wanted out of the last reveal and I am allready making a list of ones I want from this one.

Hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend,

Paper sack background

I was given this paper sack from a store in a small town in MO. and saved it thinking I may want to use it some day on a card and came across it the other day and thought it would go perfect with the Tim Holtz stamps I bought.

Inkadinkado Greetings stamp set (sentiment)
Silver Rhinestone from Michaels
Fiskar border and corner punches
Shading with distress ink

Well I felt bad that I couldn't help out with Vacation Bible School this week, there is no way my ankle would have been able to withstand all the running around needed for that, but I got a call yesterday asking if I could sew together the flying caps that the kids didn't have time to do during there craft time, the theme was Aviation this year.  Well I worked on those for 7 hours yesterday and almost 2 hours this morning before I had to take them in, so I feel better that I was able to help out after all.

It is HOT down here, my outside thermometer says 97, sure makes you appreciate last week even more when we were in the low 80's.  My peppers seem to be taking off now that we put a netting over them, the birds were coming down and pecking at them to get at the seeds.

Hope your all staying cool,
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend,
Connie

Thank you

My daughter had a job in the Athletics department as a secretary the last couple years of college and  she became quite close to the lady she worked with.  This lady was nice enough to through a dinner party for all of us after Amanda's graduation ceremony.  We all had a great time and it was so good to finally meet the lady my daughter now calls friend.  I wanted to thank her for being so sweet to do this for us.

She had a Beautiful garden so that is why I picked the papers that I did.

Basic Grey Kioshi paper
Martha Stewart Border punch
Inkadinkado Garden flowers stamp set for sentiment
Queen & co. Pearls
Stickles (on butterfly)
Ribbon from Michaels

Thank you all so much for your well wishes for my ankle, it is improving and I seem to be able to stand on it for longer periods at a time, so that is great!

More time

I so wish I had more time to do this over but with my sprained ankle and needing to get this in the mail I had to be happy with what I did, I was going for a vintage look and drawing colors from the papers but realized doing a red brick wall was a little too much.  I have had this bike stamp from Inkadinkado for quite some time, and finally let it see some ink.

I colored the image with pencils and added a little marker on the red brick trying to fix it,
K&co. Classic K papers
EK Success scalloped punch
Spellbinder ribbon banners
Hero arts Birthday messages stamp set
Lace from Sabrina
Stickles on the flowers

Hope you all enjoyed a great weekend, and your week is a good one,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Anniversary Cross-stitch

Wow it seems like weeks since I have been on the computer and it has only been 4 full days.  We took my Dad back to Michigan and then visited with my hubby's parents, sister and niece, it's always good to see family.

Since I haven't had a chance to make a card I am going to post a picture of the cross-stitching I did for the kids anniversary.  I wanted to do them something for the wedding but never did get it done so decided it would be a good 1st year gift.

This was a kit from Dimensions called Happily Ever After Wedding Record,  and I bought it at Hobby Lobby if your interested.  It is on 14 count canvas and is 5x7 size, so I was able to buy a frame from Walmart for it.  I planned on getting one at Michaels but saw this one and really liked it.  A little bit of a glare off the glass.

Well I have sprained my ankle, it is just one thing after another for me it seems, I feel like this is going to go down as the year of my injuries.  VBS starts next week at church and I am suppose to be helping out with crafts, so I am hoping to be able to take it easy now that we are back from our trip and heal up in time.

Hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie
