He is Risen...

He is Risen Indeed!!!

This is a cross-stitching I had done a few years back, found the pattern in a cross-stitching magazine.  I made a wallhanging out of it and it hangs from a quilt rack shelf my husband made for my dining room.

Hope you all are enjoying a day of celebration!!

We had good weather for our Easter celebration yesterday, the rain held out until the afternoon.  Today is nice and warm and lots of sunshine!!  It makes up for the next couple of cold days we have coming.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Connie

Good Friday

Reading all the accounts this morning of our Lord's death, the verse in Mark 15: 39 says and when the centurion , who stood there in front of Jesus, heard him cry and saw how he died, he said "surely this man was the Son of God!"  It just struck me today what that moment must have been for this man, and how thankful I am for his saving Grace.

Yes I do have a card too, for my nephew, I am thinking he may be turning 40 this year but not sure, I couldn't remember if I was 9 or 10 years older than him, yes I have a brother who is 14 years older than I am so I am not a whole lot older than some of my nephews and nieces :)

Stampscapes-- Old Mill large, colored with pencils
DCWV -- Tattered Time paper and ticket
Gina K-- tag lines sentiment stamp
Spellbinders -- A2 matting basics A and Lg. deckled rectangles dies
Photo Corners
Enamel Accents -- Black

Have a busy morning tomorrow, I am heading up the food for the Easter Eggstravagnza at Church. With all the snow we got I hope it isn't too muddy out there for the kids to get their eggs, almost all the snow is melted just mainly left on area's that it was piled when shoveling or is in the shade all the time.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and your comments,
Connie

Last Easter Card

I was seeing alot of  Easter cards with baskets and eggs and remembered the Gina K stamp set that I had with a basket so I decided to do this for our daughter and her husband for Easter.

I saw a post on Splitcoast about how to photo edit your cards and I noticed there were a couple more steps then I do now, so I decided to try it out.

This second  card is the way I used to do it, which do you like best?

Gina K -- Holiday Basket stamp set, colored with Copics markers
Punch Bunch-- Egg punch
Creative Imaginations paper
Impression Obsession-- sentiment stamp
Spellbinders-- Ribbon Banners, Blossom and Fancy lattice dies
Martha Stewart Border punch
Fiskar -- Grass border punch

On that piece behind the basket, I had tried to cut out the lattice die for another project and it didn't cut all the way through and I couldn't get it lined back up so I just set it aside, found it doing this project and thought it looked like some neat embossing to put behind the basket so I cut it out with the blossom die.

Yesterday on Palm Sunday we received at least 10 inches of snow, it was kind of hard to tell in places because of the drifting, earlier in the day my husband had shoveled off parts of the deck and railing for Peanut, but the top of the table was never disturbed.  We are being told that it will probably rain on Easter but no snow!!   I shoveled half the driveway before my husband got home from work, we took turns finishing the other half, talk about a work out, sure hope this is it for this season.

Hope you have a Blessed week,
Thanks for stopping by,
Connie

Inky Antics

My LSS was having a sale on all their Fall stamps, and I had to pick this one up at that price and figured that I could make it any season, I have seen green leaves that have fallen around a tree, maybe not quite that much, but go with me :)

I used My Favorite things sketch #91 for this card.

Inky Antics stamp, colored with Copic markers, scored a line and then stamped the sentiment under the scored line
Hero Arts -- It's your day sentiment stamp set
Spellbinders -- A2 Matting basics A
BasicGrey  -- porcelain & kraft papers
Liquid Pearls -- Copper Pearls
distress inks

I thought the stamp and the layout was good for a male card.

I hope you enjoy a great weekend, I need to make some time for cardmaking or I won't have anything to post .... AHHHHH!
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and your commenting is much appreciated!

ODBDSLC147

Spring has Sprung is the name of the challenge this week over at Our Daily Bread Designs.... I so wish that was true around here, we are averaging about 10 degrees below average for this time of year, and that wind just cuts right through a person, sure can't wait for spring temps to come our way.  You can find out all the details HERE on ODBD blog .

I needed another Easter card so I am hoping that this qualifies for spring card :)

Our Daily bread designs -- The Shepherd stamp set for image and sentiment, colored with Copics and Distress markers
The background was sponged with Distress inks
Memory Box -- Orchard Tree Frame, I cut 2 to give it a bit more depth
Fiskar Cloud punch for the sentiment

Hope your enjoying a good week, thanks so much for stopping by,
Connie

Fear thou not

Was in need of another sympathy card, and thought this would be a good verse for the person I was giving this to.

I love the look of stamping a sentiment over an image, especially when the verse is as big as this one.

Sweet n sassy -- Stamped verse
Unity stamp co. -- Insightful meadows (image)
My Mind's eye -- Beautiful life paper
Spellbinders -- Labels 4 and Curved Rectangles
Queen & co. -- Baby blue Pearls
Recollections -- Lace
Cuttlebug-- corner die

While I had my rub ons out the other day I needed a couple thank you cards so I decided to do them in all rub ons, I liked the way they turned out but forgot to take pictures before I mailed them out, that is the problem with rub ons once you have used them they are done, oh well.

Our day started off with a dusting of snow yesterday and then the afternoon evening turned into thunderstorms, you know the kind that shake the walls, luckily by the time I went to bed the big heavy thunder was over.  But we have been told we are now out of the drought so that is a good thing, I am just thankful we got the rain and that wasn't all snow.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and commenting, it is much appreciated :)

Rub-ons

Do you remember Rub-ons.... maybe you have been using them all along, I haven't used mine in quite awhile and came upon them the other day while looking for something else and thought I need to challenge myself to use them on my next card and this is the result of that :)

K&co. -- Classic K Baily paper and Tag pad
BasicGrey -- Rubon for sentiment
Three Bugs in a Rug -- Bloomin Doodles rubons
Yellow Stickles added to flower centers
Lace on tag is from a RAK (Sabrina)
Spellbinders -- Floral Doily Motif die
Liquid Pearls-- Mint green on die
Martha Stewart -- Butterfly punches, cuttlebug dots folder on big butterly, wiped ink across it
Baby blue Stickles on butterflies

I like to go back and challenge myself to use things in my stash that I haven't used in awhile.

It is getting colder as the day goes on so we are going to go out and get our walk in before it gets too cold.
Hope you have a great weekend,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and for leaving comments, I really appreciate it,

Greeting Card Gift Box

I used the wonderful tutorial that Gina did on her site for creating this gift box.  You can find the video tutorial HERE at Stamp TV.

You have allready seen the cards I made for my secret sister  reveal at church, this is the box I made for all 4 cards to fit in.

DCWV-- Rustic stack paper
Sweet Sentiments from Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazine, I did a little bit of sponging around the edges, it looks a little more pink then it did in real life.
Martha Stewart-- Swirling Lace punch (added Distress ink in Antique linen to it)
Momenta-- Metal bee  (they own a honey making business)

Thought I would show a side view of it too.  I might have been able to squeeze one more card w/envelope inside but I think 4 cards w/ envelopes is about the right amount, they can't be too bulky though.  I like to give away cards that the giver only has to use one stamp to mail it, so this is the perfect little gift box size.

Well today is my birthday and I thought it was going to be sunny and in the high 50's, but I think that will be something if we get there, it is after 11am and it is 38 and light snow showers right now.  But I received a nice call from my daughter this morning and she is all excited for me to get my card, so I hope it comes today :)  God has blessed me with a wonderful and loving family and a terrific church family, and that I am very thankful for.

Wishing you a Wonderful day, Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

Bird on Branch

Can I just say coming up with titles to my blog sometimes gives me a headache, I am not very original when it comes to that... LOL!

Using another Cricut image from Give a Hoot Cartridge this time.

Memory Box -- Woodland Branch
London Market Rare Finds and Curiosities Paper
Martha Stewart-- Leaf punch
The little flowers were some I saved a while ago from a Fiskars border punch, thought they might come in handy some time :)

Quick, simple card for my Aunt's birthday hope she likes it.

It is very cold this morning again but the sun is shining bright so I hope that means it will heat up later.  By the end of the week it is suppose to be really nice, my hubby is allready talking about cleaning out the garage.

Hope your week is starting off good, Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

ODBDSLC145 Sketch

This weeks challenge on Our Daily Bread designs was to use their sketch to make a card, you can find out all the details at Our Daily Bread Designs blog .

I was in need of a masculine card so I used the Special Boy stamp set, from ODBD.  I didn't have room for the whole sentiment so I used part of it.

The image was colored with Copics and the grill and bumper of the truck were colored with a Metallic Silver Sharpie marker.  Walnut Stain Distress ink was used for the shading around the image and card.

Spellbinders Deckle Rectangle die
Hot off the press-- Sarabooks Ivory paper

Hope you have time to play along in the challenge and that you will stop by tomorrow as ODBD has an Anniversary Linky party that I will be involved in all the details are on their blog for that too :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, and hope you have time to stop by tomorrow also.
Have a Wonderful weekend,
Connie

Cricut image

I have a basket that I keep all my scraps in and it was getting way too full, so I decided to take a day off of cardmaking and get my cricut out and just cut out a bunch of images I would like to make into cards some day, that way they are allready to go and it will save me time when I go to make a card.  This is one of those images I made up.

I origninally cut out the white cardstock with a spellbinder die and it ended up being too big for the decorative piece underneath so I trimed both sides down a 1/4 inch and notched the corners.

Cricut cartridge-- Kate's ABC's
Spellbinders-- Square and Marvelous Squares dies
EK Sucess Corner punch
Martha Stewart tag punch
Inkadinkado-- Greetings/Salutations sentiment stamp
Bazzill basics --brad
Fiskar-- Border punch
Pioneer Scissors-- small scallop
Faux stitching
Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady-- Paper

We had some very high winds last night, blew alot of stuff around, thought the house was going to just be blown over, still having high gusts today.  I am looking forward to the warm temps we are suppose to get this weekend, spring is hopefully on it's way.

Thank you so much for dropping by, and I so appreciate your comments,
Connie

Another card for the secret sister cards I am making.  I was going for a more vintage feel with this card, I so Love how it turned out.  Did a bit of paper piecing here.  The stamps are from a clear container full of stamps from Inkadinkado where you build your own flowers.

ODBDSLC144

The Challenge over at Our Daily Breads Designs this week is Black and White, the first image that came to my mind to use was the Sisters stamp, I just think it is adorable :)  You have until Sunday evening to do the challenge and you can find out all the info HERE .

The Our Daily Bread designs Sisters stamped image was embossed with Black embossing powder.
Spellbinders-- Circles and Eyelet Circles dies-- M-bossabilities Regal embossing folder
Offray Ribbon was threaded through the holes, tied into a bow and topped off with a Recollections brad.
Inkadinkado-- Greetings/Salutations sentiment stamp topped off with Forver in time button, with ribbon threaded through.

We have been enjoying the pretty soft snow falling today but none of it is sticking.

Well by the way the Government is handling all of this it looks like my hubby will only be working 4 days a week here soon, so we will be taking a bit of a hit in our pay.  We kind of figured this was going to happen when he has been getting emails saying we should be saving up, ect.  Praying that they can come to some agreement by the end of March and that he won't be out of a job all together.

Wishing you all a Wonderful weekend,
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment it is much appreciated,
Connie
