Easter bunny

Who all watched the Royal Wedding yesterday?   We were stationed over in England when my husband was in the Air Force, in fact we were there when Diana was killed in that car accident, such a crushing blow for the country.  It was so nice to watch them all seem very happy once again.  I think my favorite part was Harry turning around and looking back while Kate was coming up the isle, I would love to know what he said to William at that point.  I did not get up early to watch it though, I taped all of BBC America's coverage of it and watched it through out the day as I was trying to get my cleaning and stuff done around here.

Ok on with the card.....

I tried a new layout after I wasn't as happy with the first card I made with the stickers.  This time I added forever in time buttons in with the Hallmark stickers.   Cosmo cricket paper. Studio G sentiment stamp, and the happy was done using Hero Arts Mixed Alphabet, I cute them in strips and tried to arrange them on different levels to mimic the border.

The sun is shining bright today so it's time to go take the dog for a walk,
Hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend,

Masculine Thank you

I think this paper is from one of the very first stacks of paper I bought many years ago, but I thought it would be a good backdrop for this image from Penny Black.  I took Martha Stewart Art and Craft markers and colored right onto the stamp, then stamped it onto the paper.  The Fiskar gold photo corners are from way back too.  I decided that I should emboss the sentiment in Gold to go along with the photo corners.  Sentiment is a Studio G stamp.

Gloomy day here today so I will be staying inside and working on the wraps/shawls for the bridesmaids in the wedding, my daughter couldn't find the color green she wanted in ones that were already made up, so we went to JoAnns and she found fabric that she liked so I am making them, real simple, just time consuming.

Hope you all are enjoying some sunshine,

Easter Chicks

When I was going through my things just a little before Easter I found these stickers I had picked up from Hallmark a year or so ago.  So I decided to get some use out of them, mounted them on a spellbinder die.
The stamp is Studio G stamp on spellbinder tag die.  It looked so empty after I put the stickers on that I tried to do my own swirls with Liquid pearls, it sure didn't turn out like I had envisioned.  The paper is Cosmo cricket.

We actually have a little sunshine peeking out from around the clouds this morning, and the birds are just chirping away outside my door, I think they are happy to have a break from all the rain too.  I had to take my daughter back to college yesterday afternoon and it was pouring, barely could see the cars ahead of me and the small road to get out to the interstate was flooding, not a very enjoyable drive but I made it.  I hope that you are all staying dry were your live.

He is Risen indeed..... Happy Easter Everyone.
I usually don't post on Sundays they are just too busy but my Husband had to work tonight and my daughter home from college is busy with homework so I thought I had might as well post some cards I made for our Fathers for Easter.

I was going for a sunrise look here.  My husband drew the image and then I colored the cards in with distress  and a little chalk inks. Sentiments are done with Impression Obsession stamp.

Cross-stitch sympathy

My friends father passed very unexpectedly, and her husband was over in Afghanistan at the time, so she had to travel to Florida by herself, I felt so bad for her.  Good news her husband made it back in time for the funeral and so she had his support.

I had been working on this cross-stitching on our Ladies craft night and had just finished it before I heard the news so I decided to use it in her card. I mounted it on Spellbinders Lacey square die.
Paper is from the Basic Grey Porcelain paper pack.
Kaisercraft sentiment stamp was used on a  spellbinder ribbon tags trio, Ribbon is from a Mellissa Frances kit I bought at the CKC, Lace is from the $ store.

Hope everyone has been able to keep safe through these storms going across the country, we just had some fierce storms again over night and this morning but so far so good.

May you be blessed by the Love and Grace Jesus shown to us on this Good Friday!

Tissue Image

The image for this card is from a tissue box, and I cut it out with spellbinder square die.  I ran it through my cuttlebug a couple times and it cut through it I was kind of surprised.  When I was putting away this box I thought wow that is a  nice calming scene, so I ended up saving it and thought I would give it a try on a sympathy card, this is for a man who lost his wife.

I used the spellbinder lacey squares die behind it, stampendous sentiment was cut out from the curved rectangles spellbinder die.  Kraft cardstock for the base and K& co. paper.

I can't believe I went 5 days without posting, it has been one of those crazy weeks, we helped out sprucing up the church for spring. Yes I'm sore now :)  My daughter and myself have had our fittings for our wedding dresses, I will be sharing pictures later, my Daughter is gorgeous if I don't say so myself :)  Alot of activities in the church that I am getting ready for so hopefully after Easter things will calm down a bit.

We made it through the tornado warnings last night, wow was there some very strong winds.

Hope all who were in the path made it through safely,

40th Birthday

My girlfriend just turned 40 today.  She loves the color pink so I had to add some pink to it with the flowers I punched out from Martha Stewart punch, from Tim Holtz shabby chic paper.  I added Glass Glitter from Melissa Frances to the centers.

I stamped the black cardstock with Studio G stamps that I embossed with white embossing powder.  The numbers are from Provocraft and I added flocking to them.  The sentiment is from Stampendous, and all this is on a Fleur De Lis Rectangle Spellbinder die.

We have had very high winds today and rain, now we are under Tornado watches.

Vine Sympathy

I was so bummed to realize that after I sent this card out I downloaded my pictures and all the shots of this card I took were blurry, this one was the best, I thought I would share it anyway.

The vine flourish is from Scrappy cat, I stamped it using green chalk ink, then colored it in using the bundled sage distress ink, shading done with vintage photo, I meant to use old paper but after I had it half done realized I grabbed the wrong color.

Used McGill flower punch for the flowers and embossed them, scattered straw stickles for the centers.

The image was cut from Spellbinder die and Pearls from Queen &co. added to the top left.
K&co. paper

I have to try and remember to download my pictures before sending cards out.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your having a lovely day!

Flower Sympathy

I used K&co. paper, Martha Stewart border punch.  The flowers are from a Studio G stamp set, I added stickles to the centers.  The Sentiment is from Kaisercraft stamp and I cut it out using my new Spellbinder tag dies.  I embossed the veins in the sizzix leaf die.

I need to do some running around today, it is suppose to get up to 75 and it is sunny so it is going to be a lovely day to get out!  Hope you all are enjoying a wonderful day too :)

Thinking of you

There were 3 deaths of parents of church members this past week. So I was busy making Sympathy cards.  The first is going to a girl I work with on Sunday nights at church, and it was her Grandma that passed away.

I used some new items I had bought at CKC, all 3 stamps on the main image were from an Inkadinkado stamp set, not so sure I should have stamped them in all different colors or not, and I stamped them on very textured cardstock from Bazzill so the stamping isn't perfectly clear.  Spellbinder lacey square to frame it and the background paper is Daisy D and used Strips of BasicGrey over it.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Have a GREAT day :)

Cat Birthday

This is kind of wild for me, but I think that is the kind of stuff kids like.  The image and corner treatments are stickers from an old daily calendar I have.  Used Spellbinder dies for the framing of the image. The swirl is a sizzix die that I added glitter glue.  Paper is K&co.

It is raining here today, so hopefully I can get some things done inside the house :)  Hoping to figure out how to decorate the Favor boxes for my daughters wedding too.

Tennis Birthday

My great nephew joined the tennis team this year so I thought I would use this Dimple street gang sticker I have had for awhile. Cut the image and the sentiment from spellbinder die.  Hero arts sentiment stamp. Basic Grey paper and Fiskar border punch, also fiskar corner rounder.

I went to the CKC St. Louis yesterday and with the allowance I saved over a few months and my Birthday money, this is all the goodies I bought, it was alot of fun shopping finding things I had been looking for, was bummed they didn't have some of the spellbinders I was looking for but they had these on sale for $18.99 and if you bought 3 you got one free :)  I have already made a two cards with some of these things last night, will post them next week.

Hope your all enjoying a lovely warm weekend, I know I am, we even had to turn on the fans today, I refuse to use the air conditioner until I need to, just love to hear the birds singing :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Daughters Wedding Invites

After posting the cake box, I realized I never showed the wedding invites I did.  My Daughter picked out these stamps.  The image is from Inkadinkado and the Verse is from Fiskars stamps.

Sorry for the poor pics the sun was coming through the window wierd this morning.  Here is the Invite and RSVP, I did the insides and the RSVP's on the computer.  To keep it as simple as possible I planned on just stamping in  green ink the flourish image and brown ink the verse, but I just couldn't get the green I wanted, so my Husband said well why don't you emboss it that will help it stand out, so I went and found the right green and ended up embossing all those, it took more time but I think they looked alot better that way.

Here is a close up on just the invite, maybe you can see the embossing more.
Wow am I sore we did alot of work around the house yesterday, it was such a Beautiful warm day, and it looks like we will be having another today, oh how I love Spring :)
Hope you are all enjoying a wonderful sunny day!

Wedding Card Box

I finally got it done!!!!!  I purchased the paper mache boxes from Jo-Anns, they came in a set of 5 I used the 3 middle boxes. Added 3 coats of off white acrylic paint. The roses on the layers were made using Tim Holtz's Tattered Floral dies from Sizzix. The leaf punch is from Martha Stewart and I embossed veins into the leaves. The brown leaves were also a Martha Stewart punch.

The smaller flowers between the roses were made with a Martha Stewart punch also, the smallest flowers that are brown and green are a EK success punch and I added liquid pearls to the smaller flowers.

The roses on the very top were done using the McGill floral petals punch. The lace I found at a Flea market, was so thankful I had enough to go all around.  My husband said I needed something at the bottom to look like icing so we came up with this idea Using seam binding from Martha Stewart, I took double layer of score tape and put it all around, took a dowel for spacing and went around, so that the ribbon that is sticking out wouldn't stick to the scortape I took a paint brush with powder and put it on the scortape so the ribbon wouldn't stick to it.

Here is a close up of the flowers. My Daughters colors are green and brown for her wedding.  I showed it to her this weekend and she seemed to really like it.

Thanks for Stopping by today, and I really appreciate the comments :)
