Know your in our prayers

A lady at church that attends our ladies bible study is in her 80's and she has been having a hard time getting around for a few years now and it had gotten to the point that her knees were making it very hard for her to get around so she decided to go through knee surgery, she has had to have many surgeries in her lifetime and was really trying to avoid this one, she will need to have the other one done eventually.  Hope this brightens her days as she goes through physical therapy.

For the main image I used a Paper tole papers that come with 3 different  die cute images to try and they are all numbered so you know which one to add next.  Here is a Link so you can see what I mean.  Below is a side view of it, I used the 3M double sided foam tape, it is thinner than the scrapbooking foam adhesive and I think gives just enough lift without the card getting to thick.  You could use six layers, but I only used 5 of them on this one.

Hot off the press -- Enchanted Garden 3-D Papier Tole Foil die cuts
My mind's eye -- a Beautiful life paper
Martha Stewart -- around the page punches
Stampendous -- Sincere Sympathy
Spellbinders -- Ribbon Tags Trio dies
Ribbon-- won on Kittie's blog

The kids were cute today during the VBS service, we also heard from our Mission team that went to Ecuador for 10 days to help build an upstairs room for a church that was started a couple summers ago, they had a few accidents while there but none of them too serious, God was watching over them.

Hope you all have had a blessed Sunday and that the week ahead brings much sunshine and happiness.

Thanks so much for all that take the time to stop by and drop a little comment to let me know, I really appreciate it.

Wrapped in Love

My sisters birthday isn't until tomorrow but she let me know she has already received this card so I can post it early :)  My first shaker card, I used my new CD from Hot off the press called 100 movable parts cards, they are simple to make just a little bit time consuming.  I added ivy inside because I thought that would look neat having the birds surrounded by ivy but they didn't move around as much as I would like so I looked through my stash and found some very small beads to add to it, sounds like a real shaker card that way too.

Crafty Secrets -- Clear art stamps -- Bird Notes-- colored w/markers
Colorbok -- Homespun paper
Spellbinders -- Labels 37, Feathers, A2 Bracket Borders Two, Labels Trio, and Bitty Blossom and Blossom dies
Lea'bilities -- Arch and leaves die
Beadazzles
Vellum (for the feathers)
Technique Tuesday -- Happy Birthday stamp set
McGill -- branch punch
Martha Stewart  --- leaf punch
Baby Breaths
Queen & co. -- Rhinestones

I love the feathers cut out with the vellum, they look realistic that way.  I meant to do another watercolor on the image but I forgot and stamped with Memento ink and a lot of time that smears so I tried coloring it with markers on the watercolor paper and I liked the results.  Do you recognize the pink flowers from my earlier wall hanging I did, I had some left over so I thought it would look nice on here.

Here is the card laying flat so you can see what I added to the shaker part.

I like the way it looks with all the things inside all around the birds, wish I would have thought to glue some of the ivy down and had others that would shake around them.

Last day of VBS, these weeks always tire me out, but the kids have really enjoyed doing the crafts and that is the main thing.

I am done with my Detox from the Daniel plan, today we get to add dairy back in to our diet and see how it affects us, hopefully I do ok with it because I have been really looking forward to having cheese again.  Then in 3 more days we can add gluten and see how that affects our system.  I lost 12 and 1/2 pounds in 10 days, just hoping I don't gain that back by introducing dairy back into my diet.  I will have to say that the bloating problem I had before has gone during the detox, my feet and bottom part of my legs would get so bloated and that went away.  My blood pressure was in the higher 120's over higher 70's and that has gone down to the 113/70 so that has come down a bit too, and that is without giving up salt, you are only suppose to have Sea salt or Kosher but I haven't eaten any process foods and stuff like that which is full of sodium.

Well off to get some things done before tonight,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, I really appreciate it,

Have a Wonderful weekend,
Connie

Fathers Day

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, I started the detox portion of The Daniel Plan this past week and it is a bit more work eating all healthy, I have to read all the recipes and it takes longer to do the meals now, but I am seeing good results and so that is getting me through, our group is doing it for 10 days so I am half way through now!

Yesterday was spent going to church all morning and then at 3:00 we came back and worked on getting everything set up for VBS tonight, so I was too tired to post last night.

This is the card I made for my hubby for Father's day: I used all the gear dies that he bought for his art projects to make his card.

Two Peas Challenge

Over at Two Peas in a bucket they are having a few stamping challenges and one of them was use sentiments on your card you can find out about the challenge HERE .  You have to use at least 5 sentiment stamps on your card, I used 6, plus added a present stamp because I couldn't stand the empty space. I also had to add some dots with pens to match the inks I used, to me there was too much white space. LOL!

Studio G stamps
Spellbinders -- A2 matting basics A & B dies
My Mind's Eye -- Boy Crazy paper
Plane and soccer ball eyelets

These are all the different stamps I used

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and if you want some stamp challenges stop by Two peas and check it out.

Masculine Birthday

I mentioned earlier that my brother had surgery for his prostrate cancer, well he was told that the cancer had gone outside the prostrate, but was not in his lymph nodes. When he has recovered from the surgery in about a month they will be doing another blood test and will see if the cancer is still there, if so he will be going through radiation for a few weeks.  I am hoping this is a nice calming scene for him as he celebrates his birthday.  Praying that God will take this from him and he will be OK when they test him again.

Northwoods Rubber stamps-- colored with pencils
DCWV -- Wild Splendor paper
Spellbinders -- Long classic rectangles small
Hot off the press-- Dazzles-- Tiny words and prases
Brads
Stickles -- waterfall (in the water)

We have had just beautiful weather as of late, but the last couple of days we are actually getting HOT, had to close the doors and go to the air conditioner, poor peanut wants to go out and lay on the deck in the sun but she only last a few minutes.

Hope your week is going well,

Jerri's Inspiration

If you love flowers and making them by hand Jerri's blog is the one to visit, she does such Beautiful work with her flowers and she is so sweet to share how she goes about creating these beauties.  She also does such amazing Pergamano work, just scrolling through her blog is such a joy for the eye.

I chose  this card for the inspiration for my wall hanging.  The two pink flowers on the bottom are trying one of her tutorials for the flowers.  I do not have the die that she uses so I picked my Blossom die to do these flowers.   The pink flowers on the top were done using the same die just the smaller ones in the set and used a stylist to shape the flowers.

I am not sure what kind of paper I used to make the flowers I found it while cleaning a little while back, it is a lighter weight then cardstock, but stiffer like vellum.  I inked them with distress inks and then added glimmer mist, when that dried I spritzed water to the back of the flowers and then formed them.

After taking the pics I am thinking of adding a little more greenery to the flower arrangements and maybe a butterfly.

Here is a close up of the flowers:

I found this hanger at the CK Convention and finally have something to hang on it, yep I am keeping this one :)

Spellbinders -- Grand Labels One, Blossom and Foliage dies
Prima -- Fairy Flora Collection papers
Glimmer mist-- Pearl (on flowers)
Lea'bilities -- Arch & Leaves die
Our Daily Bread designs -- Faith stamp (sentiment)
Memory Box -- Whimsical flourish die
White Flowers - $ store
Dried Baby Breaths -- Michaels
Queen & co.  -- Twinkle blooms and light pink rhinestones
Mini beads (flower centers)

The Arch has 3 different cuts the inner (the sentiment is stamped on) and outer brown I glued to the base, the middle layer has been popped up on foam tape.

Head over to Jerri's blog and soak up all the beauty she has there for you to enjoy, and get some wonderful inspiration to make a lovely project for your home.

Thanks so much for stopping by, thanks for sharing your thoughts,

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead,
Connie

Poppies ?

I am not sure what these flowers are suppose to be, I was thinking they were poppies so that is why I colored them the way I did.  When I showed Greg he asked why I colored them that color, I can't remember now what kind of flower he thought they were.  I told him that is the beauty of a blank canvas you can color them anyway you wish :)

Country diary of an Edwardian lady-- stamp set from Cardmaking and papercraft magazine, I colored it with markers
My Mind's eye -- the sweetest thing paper
Spellbinders -- A2 Divine Eloquence die
Craftaroo -- Rhinestones, colored w/markers

I did a bit of shading while the die was still in the paper with Old Paper distress inks.

I have had a touch of the flu today but I am finally starting to feel a little better, not something I want for the weekend.

Hope your start to the weekend is a good one,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and commenting,

Surging Sea

My Father in law built his own sail boat over 35 years ago, I first saw it when dating my hubby, so when I saw this stamp I thought of him and finally got around to using it on a card for him, so this is on it's way for Father's Day, I couldn't figure out how to add a sentiment to I decided not to add one to the front.

Our Daily Bread designs - Surging Sea Stamp, colored with distress inks, the compass in the corner was stamped twice and popped up with foam adhesive
Memory Box - Big Splash Border die, cut from metallic paper
All night media -- map stamp, cut by hand on kraft paper and crumbled and added  walnut stain, tea dye and old paper distress inks
K&co. -- Blue Awning paper

We had a bit of rain a couple of days ago and our ditch out back flooded a little bit, check out the couple that decided to swim along, this is when they were headed back up the ditch.

Hope you are having a great start to your week,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,  I appreciate your comments,

Party

When I saw this stamp like alot of these mouse stamps I just smiled so I had to get it :)  This is for my great nephew, I think he is turning 5.

The stars on the image background are from the same stamp set as the sentiment and framing of the sentiment, thought it helped bring in the background paper.

Stampendous -- Party hats stamp, colored w/markers
Carta Bella -- Alphabet junction paper
Spellbinders -- A2 matting basics A and A2 distressed edges dies
Stamps of Life -- minis 4 circles (sentiment and stars)

We have been enjoying visiting with our daughter and son in law.  They had a meeting with the district superintendent, and they are making plans on what they will be doing once they graduate from Duke.  If it all works out what they have planned the kids will be living close by and that makes this Momma really happy :-)

Hope you all enjoyed a fantastic weekend, and will be blessed with a wonderful week ahead.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Wise Mother

Sorry so late in getting another card posted, I have had a bit of problem with my Vertigo again and just getting the housework and things done was about all I did.  Things seem to be better now, just a little dizzy but no spinning, so that is very nice.

A friend at church has a son that has joined the Air Force, just a couple of days after graduating and he is gone to Basic Training, they are very close and it is a bit rough on them, so I just wanted to send her a card, letting her know she raised a wonderful young man and reminding her that God will be by his side and hers every step of this new beginning. When I saw this image in my daily calendar I thought it would be perfect for her.

I had some flowers already made up that I thought went perfect with the flowers in the paper so I added them to the vine, not sure if you could see that in the first card so here is a close up of the added flowers.

Mary Engelbreits -- 2014 Daily calendar page for image
Spellbinders-- A2 matting basics A, Decorative Labels Eight dies
Impression Obseesion -- Spiral flowers dies
Memory box -- Butterfly  delights die
Colorbok -- Rosewood paper
Stickles -- Yellow (flower center)
Liquid Pearls -- Mint green (on butterfly)

Well I have to get going, taking Peanut in for a nail trim and then back home to get some things done before the kids arrive tomorrow night, so excited to see them even though the visit will be very quick.

Hope your week is going very well,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Sarah's Inspiration

Oooops I am a day late posting my inspiration card.  Yesterday was very busy day.  My inspiration came from Sarah's Blog .  She is the only one that I follow that does quilling and it is so pretty, I thought I just had to give it a try. Here and Basket Here are where I took my inspiration for this card from.  I used one of the styles of flowers from the card and in the basket you can see like curly cues stuck here and there that is what I did for the stem.

This card measures 5x7" so you can just imagine how big this flower was, curious how it will make it through the mail.  I didn't want to go out and buy quilling papers so I used cardstock from Michaels that is a little lighter weight and it seemed to work pretty good, although never using quilling paper I can't really compare.  I used my trimmer and cut the strips 1/8 inch.  don't know if you can tell but the center is out of the same gray I used on the background die.

If you have a chance check out Sarah's blog, she does more than just  beautiful quilling projects.  Thank you Sarah for giving me inspiration to try something totally new :)

Spellbinders -- Resplendent Rectangles and Back to basics tags dies
Colorbok -- Homespun signature collection papers
Stamps of Live -- Minis 4 circles sentiment stamp

Hope you are having a wonderful start to your week!
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
