Happy Valentines day

We haven't exchanged cards yet but I know hubby is too busy to look at my blog so I can post :)

After so many years of making Valentine and Anniversary cards for hubby I am starting to have trouble coming up with something new.  Well one day I was cleaning up in January and I was going through things that I might want to save for my junk journal and what I could get rid of when I came across the packaging from my Honeybee order and on the back they have this cool truck with hearts and I thought there is my Valentine card for this year, and it just so happens to fit on a slim line card so it worked out great!

I colored with markers, as you can see it is a brown cardboard it comes in, I used 3 different reds for the hearts and added some white gel pen for the head lights, inked across the bottom to give it a road to sit on. Used My favorite things cloud stencil for the background.

I thought I would share what the packaging looked like before I cut it out and colored. I had to do a bit of erasing of the black marks that was all over it, when I first started coloring I thought I would cut the truck out but instead was able to remove the black marks with an eraser and use the whole panel.

I thought I would also share something I found at Michaels just before Valentines, this was a 4 card pack with envelopes, Diamond Art kit of  the same picture, they were 40% off so I couldn't pass them up and I like that they didn't have a sentiment on the front so I could use them for any occasion.

Here is the close up, doesn't it look like the flowers are just popping off the card.

I thought I would share something hubby gave me a couple weeks ago.  Another flower, I shared awhile ago one he drew of a sunflower. This time he took red tissue paper that was left over from Christmas presents and made a flower, very 3 D looking, drawing the stem of it.

How cool is that, I thought I would show you a close up of the center of the flower, yes that is torn up pieces of corrugated cardboard, I thought that was very creative and thought it might give you all some ideas :)

I would like to share my card with Double D Challenge Hearts

Wishing you all Love and Happiness today and always,

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

Wow, lots of great stuff to see here today, Connie! What fun packaging that gives you something to color and create with as well as the goodies inside. I've never ordered from Honeybee, and they're right here in Oregon. You got a deal on your Michael's find, and those roses do look like they're floating in mid-air! Also, I love the flower your hubby created. I can see that it would be easily mailable, too. Very clever how he created the flower center. Happy Valentine's Day!

Your Valentine card is incredibly creative! Using the Honeybee packaging with the truck and hearts is such a clever idea. The coloring and details you added, like the white gel pen for headlights and the cloud stencil for the background, make it truly special. I also loved reading about the creative flower your husband made with red tissue paper and corrugated cardboard. Those roses are incredible too. So much beauty all in this post.

Lots of awesome inspiration! Love the Valentine truck. I have never done the diamond art. Great job repurposing the cardboard. I like to recycle.

We're knee deep here in chocolates--not a bad thing lol Love how you created his card, very clever--I actually have that HB stamp and die set, so many clusters to add to the bed of the pickup--every Season covered. Your roses are gorgeous and your Hubby's pretty posie is fantastic! Such a creative team! xo!

Wow! So many creative ideas here today Connie! I love that you recycled some packaging. So much nicer than going into a landfill, and that card from your hubby is so creative and beautiful! He's a keeper!

Love all of these so much! But that truck and hearts makes me think of my Matthew. He loves old trucks. I hope you had a snuggly and romantic weekend. xo

Lots of lovely creations in this post. I especially like that little truck Valentine. I think I have that same stamp set, but I haven't used it in a long time.
