Still Waters

Our Daily Bread Designs "Still Waters" stamp set for main image.  Colored with Pencils and added Waterfall Stickles to the water. Spellbinder die to cut and layer image.

Hot Off the Press "Sarabooks Ivory" paper stack.  Queen & Co. Chocolate Delight Pearls.

I made this card last week and the gentleman from our church I made it for died yesterday.

My quilt is coming along pretty good, so neat to watch them come together.

Yippee

I found this image on the Print Artist CD and it just made me laugh, so I thought it might make for a good preteen card.

Paper is from Sassafras "Count me in" paper pack.

Cut the image and the layered cardstock behind with the Spellbinder Rectangle Deckled die.

Ribbon from a fellow stamper friend and buttons found at the flea market.  I used floss to sew the buttons onto the card.

Our church had our Fall Festival yesterday, we had a few very light sprinkles and a very cool 62 degrees, but everything went very well, we didn't run out of food so that was nice.  We had some new families visit so hopefully they will come back for a service.  This was our first year having a dunking booth and we had a few people that were sweet enough to get into that Cold water on a chilly day.

Starting off the week with a chilly 50 degrees but the Sun in shining bright so that makes it all good :)

Country style

I needed a card quick, I make cards for my hubby's co workers and he mentioned to me one evening he needed a card for that night, YIKES!  I went in and looked through some clipart images that I had already printed out and found this cute image, the girl this card is for, is a big animal lover... perfect.  It had that country feel to it, so I went right to a Leisure Art book by Karla Dornacher that I had bought at Big Lots that is full of country papers, and found the background paper to go with it.

Earlier that day I had been working on my MIL's quilt and I had this strip laying on my quilt table, so I frayed it a little, tied it into a bow, more country feel :)   Added a sentiment from MSE  stamps set onto a Martha Stewart tag.   The bottom still needed something so I thought of the Martha Stewart fence punch and added that to it also...... So that's how this card came together and my hubby tells me she really liked  it..... so nice when they come together like that.

I took the picture in the evening sunset, that's why the lighting is so weird, it's times like these it would be nice to have a light box.

Another gloomy day today, it started out sunny but now it is cloudy again.   I just hope this Sunday afternoon will be nice, our church is having a Fall Festivals with games, bouncy rides and a dunking booth, topped out with a cook out of Hot dogs over a fire, and I am heading up the food portion so I really don't want to get all the food out there and all of a sudden get hit with a down pour, they are saying 30% chance of rain, so hoping that in the next day or so that will go down or at least it will wait until everyone is done eating.

Yep another sketch :)  page 50.

K&co. designer paper.  The cardstock strip in the middle was embossed using the Quickutz Vines folder.
The flower is the Spellbinder Peony, to give it a little bit of dimension I cut between the petals and did some shaping with my stylus. 

Sentiment is from the Fiskar Cameo Ovations stamp set.  I thought it kind of looked like a leaft shape so I stamped it in the middle to go beside the flower, after I had taken the pictures I thought I should have stamped it onto a seperate piece and it would have given it more dimension.

On the flower I used Cosmo cricket and mulberry papers, topped it off with a clear gemstone.
Here is a close up of the flower to see how I cut the petals. I also used the 3 smallest sizes of the dies on the flower.

Update on my progress with my quilt, I have close to half of it cut out, Yea!!!  Then I can get to the fun part of putting it all together, that is my favorite part of quilting is the piecing of it together.

Sunflower Birthday

Yes....Another sketch from Papercrafts Card ideas page 140.

Hero Arts sunflower stamped and colored with Tombow and Prismacolor markers.

K & co. Patterned cardstock, embossed with the Cuttlebug Leafy Branch folder.
Spellbinder Labels 9 die with a Hero Arts sentiment stamp from the Fabulous Birthday set.

The bling on the sentiment was from the same stamp set it came with the set.  I also added a little bit of sparkle pen to the leaves to make them stand out a bit more but you can't see it in the photo.

I went to a stamp store over in St. Louis and found a couple cute stamp sets and one flower die set, can't wait to try them out.

Hope your week is starting off good, we had rain yesterday and this morning but looks like we might be clearing up.
