The August challenge with my on line cardmaking group was to use a solid stamp and to use white pigment ink to stamp it with, on a dark colored card stock, give it a little time to dry or heat dry it, I decided to let mine air dry, I can't seem to be able to use my heat gun without curling the paper. I used a yellow and orange to color the bird and then used greens on the leaves and brown on the branches. I also added some stickles to the berries to highlight them a little more. It does give the image a nice textured feel but it doesn't look as neat as the example one of the girls shared with us. My husband said it looked almost metallic looking. The sentiment banner was hand cut.

Evelyn update -- She has moved up to 64 mls today but she has a little blister on her incision, mom is doing a lot of cuddling today since Evelyn is a little grumpy.
Wow our temp is at 74 in the middle of the afternoon, can you believe it. It was weird this morning walking out of the grocery store and not being hit with such awful heat. Looks like we are going to have a couple days like this before it goes back up, this is just perfect for me :) Hope your weather is nice wherever you are.
Thanks for stopping by, and your sweet comments,
Connie

Oh how I wish we had nice weather like that. I am jealous! we are in the upper 90's and need rain so bad in California.
I adore this bird card, but I just love bird anything...great job Connie. As always.
Hugs
Oh, Connie, what a great job with the white pigment ink and coloring! I forget whether I've tried this before, but your bird is beautiful, and I love the layout with the pretty lace, flowers, and fish-tail banner. Sweet! And how wonderful that precious Evelyn is eating more, but I'm praying that her incision will heal. Yes, sounds like she needs lots of cuddling from mommy today. And what good news that the temps are lower for you! Hugs, sweet friend!
so much time and effort goes into your beautiful cards.....so much attention to detail. each one should be framed!!
love this one, could be the bird ;)
Hi Connie, your card is gorgeous. I always love reading how you design the details. I agree, perfect for framing.
So good to read that Evelyn is doing better but sorry she has a little blister. Hope that heals promptly.
Aren't the cooler temps nice? We have them here too and so enjoying it even if it will be short lived. Blessings, cm
The card is so pretty! We have had high humidity here and downpours. I love the mid-70's!
Very pretty card! It was cooler here today also! Thanks for stopping by Quaker Hill Farm! Have a blessed week! Lynn
Connie this truly is a gorgeous card, think you excelled in this.
By the way if your paper curls simple way to solve that is to place it on th carpet under a large book like dictionary for an hour or so and it will flatten out nicely often spoon that when making cards.
May the LORD bless dear Evelyn and her family,

I think it looks fabulous! I always enjoyed this pencil over ink technique. I have this stamp set, too. Love this bird. Beautiful card design, Connie! Good news about Evelyn, too!
Very pretty Connie. Love the bird image and the technique. It is tricky not to curl the paper... I use heavy card stock now and strong adhesive. The white lace is so elegant. I also like the black and white background.
