It has been forever since I have had the time to do an Our Daily Bread design challenge but I thought I would take it on this week. You can find out the sketch Here on their blog.
As you can see I didn't quite follow the sketch perfectly, it just didn't end up turning out that way. I had colored the image before I left on vacation but didn't have time to make it into a card yet, well I decided to go with an oval but it wouldn't fit into an oval but it did fit into a circle, I know it is meant for a corner but that's not how I went with it. Then the sentiment should have been lower but I didn't like the way that looked so I hope it's ok I went a little off with the sketch.
The problem with coloring something and not picking the papers first is that you realize I don't have that color blue in any of my paper packs, so I ended up with this set of papers to go with it. Next time, pick out papers then color :)
Our Daily bread designs -- Corner flower, colored w/markers
Spellbinders -- Big Scalloped circles lg, Lacey ovals and A2 matting basics A dies
Crate paper -- Diy shop paper pack
Taylored Expressions -- Many mini's occasions sentiment stamp
Wink of Stella -- clear glitter pen on the flowers
We are enjoying beautiful temperatures today after the big thunderstorm we had in the middle of the night, it shook the windows, hubby and I got up to watch it and we were about blinded twice it was so bright and it almost looked like it hit our neighbors home.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

It looks great to me, it doesn't necessarily have to be in a corner. You are very hard on yourself when it comes to color, I don't think everything has to be matchy, matchy! It's a beautiful card!!
Connie, it turned out beautiful and that gorgeous image goes very nicely with the papers you chose. You did a fabulous job coloring it. I know what you mean about trying to match up. It's easier for me to design the card when I choose the papers ahead, but sometimes I just want to color and not think about the card design yet. It's six of one and half a dozen of the other. That sounds like some storm! We don't get much in the way of lightening storms here. They're mostly distant, or if they do pass fairly close they don't stay long.
Oh, Connie, what a beautiful card, and I just love your coloring. I too struggle with finding the right papers before I color...and like Leslie, I try to find it before. But sometimes I don't. Bu truly it worked out perfectly and is a lovely card and close enough to the sketch. Wow, that sounds like it was a big thunder storm. We get them here in South Florida, and sometimes at night we hear a loud clap of thunder that just shocks me and I snuggle up with DH. It's a reminder of the power of God just in a small way. Praying for a wonderful Lord's Day! Hugs!
Beautiful card Connie.
My dearest Connie,
your cards are beautiful more and more, the last is more inspiring and sweeter than the previous one, congratulations on your fancy, your creativity and taste.
With dear love

Your card turned out very pretty despite it all, Connie! I just love the background paper - it reminds me of the old fashioned wallpaper in my Grandmother's house. Such happy memories....Thunder storms are so scary, but a little thrilling, too! Glad the lightning didn't strike! Have a blessed week! xo Karen
A beautiful and cheerful card Connie, love it! Reminds me of beautiful early summer days when the air is full of fresh flower fragrance. Hugs
So lovely! Wonderful coloring and I love the color combo!
I agree with the others- this is gorgeous!! I love your coloring of the flowers and your background looks fabulous with the image! Thanks for sharing with us at the ODBD Shining the Light Challenge- hugs, my friend!!
I also agree with the others Connie. The stamp doesn't need to be in the corner. I think it looks great where it is! I love the coloring too. Such a beautiful card! Have a wonderfully creative week!
