Masculine Birthday

I haven't had a masculine card to share in awhile, but come fall time is when I have a lot of guy birthday's.  But today I am sharing the card I will be giving our son in law later today as we celebrate his birthday.  I can't say how nice it is to have the kids living so close to us once again, 45 minute drive is so much closer than 13 hours :)

This leaf die was purchased a few years back, do you notice the stitch marks, they were way before their time, LOL, everything has stitched marks on it now.  I checked and this dies date on it was 2007, it was one of my first dies I bought.

This whole card started with the corrugated paper I found at JoAnns, and I just started adding things to it.  Tore the edges and then gave them a bit of ink, cut a chunk of burlap and added it with the brads, cut the die and did a little chalking in the center and shading with some ink around the edges, I really love this for a masculine card.

DCWV -- Corrugate neutrals paper
Distress inks -- Forest Moss
Sizzix -- Leaves die
Die-namics -- Just my type sentiment stamp
Bazzill Brads

Hope your week is going well, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and for letting me know you did.

Perfect masculine card Connie. Love the different textures, and that leaf is just so pretty (?). I should not say pretty as it's a masculine card... but it is pretty. :)

Connie, I really REALLY like this card! The corrugated paper and burlap have totally inspired me, especially with the torn corrugated paper - I wouldn't have thought to do that! Thank you for sharing your creation. Your SIL will thoroughly appreciate it! hugs, de

Great masculine card Connie. You stuck with neutral colors that are still striking and show off the texture.

It's a great card, Connie - love all those manly details! So happy that your family lives closer now. My two son's live an hour and a half away, but that's a good excuse to take a drive! Hope you are having a lovely week. xo Karen

It must be so good to have your kids living close to you again.
What an amazing difference in driving time - 45 minutes drive is so much better than a 13 hour drive!!!

I do like this card ... texture is very good again, and I think it just adds to a design.

All the best Jan

Love the burlap and that big, beautiful leaf! Everything old is new again, right? I know you must love having the kids so close. That's just wonderful! Connie, I'm trying to catch up on visiting after being away for a few days with Wally's surgery. I only have a few minutes at a time on the computer because we have to watch him so closely, but I wanted to pay you a visit. And what a nice visit it is!
