The tag, papers, and poppy stamp and dies are all from Cardmaking and papercrafts magazine but from totally different issues and years and I combined them all on this card. I went with matching my poppy more to the papers than the tag, since this went out around Christmas time. The leaves were hand cut.
Poppy Tag and papers -- Cardmaking and papercraft magazine
Victorian Floral -- Poppy stamp and die set, leaves stamped and hand cut
DCWV -- mat stack (plaid paper)
Martha Stewart- Sentiment tag, Flower border punch and green gemstone (flower center)
Our Daily Bread design - mini tag sentiment stamp
The ice storm hit us but because they asked everyone to stay home and not drive out in it, they were able to get the salt down and it had a chance to work and so those people that had to get out had pretty good driving, at least everyone I know made it to and from work yesterday, there were a few accidents that were reported on the news though. We just have to make it through the wave of ice this morning and tomorrow morning and it is going to warm up and we will just have plain old rain!
I know this is all over the country so I hope everyone is staying safe.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and tomorrow I have a winter scene to share on my Dies R us post. Hope your having a creative and fun weekend,
Connie

this is soooo pretty, red is not a color you use often but it's a poppy color and it works well!! i really like the edge of the b&w paper, cute and clever!!
we have been having very warm temperatures, but snow is in the forecast for tonight. we haven't had any really bad weather and all of our snow from the other day melted!!! it was 61 on thursday, perhaps i told you!!
have a great weekend, i hope to be scrapping!!!
This is FABULOUS Connie! Great job! I can't wait to see my poppies in bloom again! They actually bloomed twice last year ... such fun! Yes this weather has been crazy so I'm just hiding in my cave and crafting away till spring thaw! LOL
Hugs and stay warm/safe!
I really love how you were able to collect all these poppy supplies through the years and combine them here. It is a great card, I like the pretty but a little country look.
I am glad you are safe in the ice and that it will be over soon!
How prettily you combined all the different poppy elements! This is such a lovely Christmas-time birthday card. Perfect! The country-ish look is so appealing to me. It's cold here, freezing at night, but thankfully we're spared the worst of it. Stay safe!
This card is pretty as a picture, Connie. That little pop of orange on the little card looks beautiful with the gorgeous pinks. Again, another stroke of brilliance from you! We down here at the bottom of the world cannot imagine the inconvenience and danger your wintry wonderland causes. Your wintry landscape looks so beautiful but we tend to forget the other side of it. Please stay safe.....and warm.
Your collection came together beautifully! Poppies are so popular these days! Stay safe in that awful weather! Thankful it missed us!
Gorgeous, Connie! Love, love, love the poppies teamed with black n white gingham check.
Aww to the next card (bunnies in snow) too. The bunnies will come in useful for all sorts...they will breed!!!
Thanks for your message back ~ I have still to master all the ways of my camera, it does wireless uploading (theoretically) but it not working with my old netbook yet. Wont be long!
Glad you stayed safe in the ice storm, not sure if I've exactly experienced one of those in the UK.
x
Such a pretty card ...
I really don't like snow or ice - always take extra care when out.
All the best Jan
Hi Connie, wow this card is beautiful. I love poppies and with the checked design, it's gorgeous.
Take care in the icy weather. Stay safe and warm inside. We are heading into thunderstorms tonight. Loved the new Year card!!! Thank you so much! Have a great week. xo
