Sponge coloring

I used sponge daubers to color this image for our Pastor's birthday card.  I have those little daubers that go over your finger and since I haven't cared for how I have colored this image with markers I decided to try the daubers, still don't know if I care for it, maybe next time I will try just keeping it plain. The very small areas I used a cotton swab and my inks.

Stampscapes -- Cabin 140 E
Spellbinders -- Lg. Deckled  Rectangles
Hot off the press -- Sarabooks ivory papers and tags
Hero arts -- It's your day sentiment stamp set
Paper studio - gems

In all the pictures I took the gems are reflective but they have a grayish - black tint to them in real life.

We are done with the icy mess, last night the fog rolled in and it is still very foggy this morning also. But even though it is dark out it is above freezing and for that I am thankful :)

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!

Connie

I think this method of coloring really works for this image. Especially I like how it looks in the trees. I like the scene! I have something a little similar I have not even stamped yet! I will keep your coloring method in mind.

I think your sponged color came out great! It has a soft, dreamy look to it which is so lovely!! So glad you fared the storm well. Hopefully it will all melt quickly. Stay safe and warm my friend!

I agree with the others that the look is really good for this cabin and forest scene.
I love the stamp and tag too!
Hope you are having a good week!

He is going to love his card, you put a lot of love into all of your cards and it shows:) I am looking forward to having some days above freezing, but haven't seen that in a long while. It is suppose to reach a high of the low 20's today . . . that will be a heat wave compared to what we have seen the last month or more. Spring is sounding better with each passing day :)
Have a great day, and thank you for your blogging friendship.
Connie :)

I think it's pretty amazing that you colored this with sponge daubers. It gives sort of a rustic look that goes well with the image. I know your pastor will love and appreciate it.

I think the softer look works well for this card and I'm sure the Pastor will like it.

All the best Jan
