For Hubby

I forgot to share the card I made my hubby for Father's day.  It is such a weird feeling not to be making any of our parents cards anymore.  I like to be able to give my hubby a card to just let him know he did a great job raising our daughter.

I colored this die cut with my Spectrum Sparkle markers, and did a little tearing of my corrugated papers.

Cottage Cutz -- Fancy cattails and Butterflies die, colored w/Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen
DCWV -- Corrugated papers
David Tuttera -- Celebrate sentiment, shaded with hickory smoke Distress ink
Pebbles -- Black candy dots
Jute

I finished the deck floor, now I just have to do all the spindles on the railing, but it has turned very hot again and that paint doesn't do well in the heat so I may have to wait until we have some more cooler days, at least I hope we will have some more this summer, so now I will be working on the front porch, hopefully that paint will be ok, it isn't quite as thick as what I was using out on the deck and it is in the shade in the mornings :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today!!

Connie

I agree that torn edge adds so much interest, so easy, so cool! Love that die cut! Great coloring too! Sometimes when I make a die cut like that and then color it, I cover it in Versa Mark in k and clear embossing powder, heat set it. It adds a nice sheen! This is a fab man card!

Hi Connie, love the Father's Day card you created for your hubby. It really is beautiful and as always your little details make it so special.
I know what you mean about giving cards to parents and how we miss that. I give my hubby a card too thanking him for being a great dad to our son.

Hope you get some cool down so you can finish painting your spindles. That's most likely the biggest job and when it's hot even harder!!
Have a great weekend and upcoming 4th of July. xoxo

Your hubby did an important job, along with you, raising your daughter, and I know he loved and appreciated your beautiful card with such a lovely die cut. I've been inspired by your coloring with the Spectrum Noir sparkle pens, and had no idea until reading your posts that you could watercolor with them. So I tried it the other day and they work beautifully. Now I wish I had more of them. Thanks!

Great card Connie, I'm liking the torn corrugated but am confessing I can never bring myself to do it on my cards... too proper and nitpicky!!, I reckon I'd tear a dozen pieces and not be happy!!
Love the colours you've used, am sure hubby was chuffed. I miss my mum too, but very grateful my dad though 88 is really well, he hasn't been so good to see him turn the corner, really answered prayer. God is good.
Thanks for sharing your inspiration!

What a cool Father's Day card. I like the corrugated paper. Very masculine looking. Although my fiance and I do not have children together I made him a Father's Day card.
