Use up challenge

One of the girls in my stamping group suggested that we think of what supplies we want to use more of in 2018, and all I know is I have so much paper in my room it is crazy, so for the challenge I used two different papers for layering of my background and then another piece to frame my stamped image and some of that same paper to make my tag.  All to often when I got to make a tag I grab for white cardstock, maybe I will try to use more pattern paper this year for tags :)  I used almost 3 entire sheets of 6x6 paper on just one card with very few scraps :)

I was trying to bring out the blue in the paper with my coloring but I think I may have been a bit heavy with the dark blue and for the life of me I couldn't get it to blend out.

I also added a bit of sparkle with my stickles to bring out the snow and sparkle in the river. You can see it a little better in the close up.

Northwoods Rubber stamps - Eagle pair over winter stream frame stamp, colored w/markers
Stickles - Waterfall and diamond
Bobunny - Welcome home collection paper
Spellbinders - A2 matting basics A&B dies, Back to basics tags
Perfect layers - 1/8 for matting of the stamp
Impression Obsession - Sentiments II stamp

I can't really tell with all the blowing out there but I think we got around an inch of snow over night and the temps are going to fall throughout the day and by tonight with windchill it will be -15.  They were not kidding when they said this was going to be a cold winter, our normal for this time is 40 degrees.  But this next weekend it is going to warm up again, so if we can just get through this week we will be ok :)

Hope your week is off to a good start and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by an say Hello :)

A wonderful card! I love that image, and the paper is perfect for both the image and a masculine card! The touches of blue are so pretty in the paper, stamp and sentiment.

I like the darkness of the edges of the flowing water, it gives it a wonderful 3d look :-)You have a great eye for pulling papers together and making super cute cards. I am still struggling lol

For some reason I liked the dark blue, made the stream stand out more. It also made me think of warmer weather, why, I don't know. Turned out good. Your sis.

Wow, Connie, you've done such a beautiful job on this! An inviting, though chilly, scene with the pretty blue stream which I want to follow and see where it goes. I think the blue is a nice pop and when you're in charge you can make it any way you wish. You're the artist! I love how you used all the patterned paper, too. It's a nice choice with the image. There are so many things in my stamp room I need to make a point of using and, well, you know my paper situation. That is high on my list of things to work on.

Hi, Connie! Apologies for not being able to comment as regularly as I'd like -- but so glad I can mention the beauty of this creation - hard to believe you're "using up" stuff because it is utterly a masterpiece. Connie, I have discovered this past year that using my older stash is actually causing me to be more creative, and I receive deep pleasure from using the goodies as well. Your stamp is GORGEOUS! I love that you have made the stream brilliantly blue - reflecting the sky which is likely clear on this marvelous winter day. Your eagles are impeccably colored! Gorgeous card! xx

Your card turned out so beautiful! I love using up things in my stash too, and that is always a challenge, it seems it is more fun to buy pretty paper, and then because it is so pretty, I have a hard time using it up, lol! I hope you make it safely through the rough weather you are having right now! We are above above-normal temps here, has been in the high 30s for a couple of weeks now. Crazy weather everywhere! Stay safe dear friend, and happy crafting! :)

Such a beautiful card. I would also like to use more of my DP up. I tend to use bg stamps and forget about my awesome papers. Lovely stamp and colouring.
