The next challenge our group had was to make a wooden background using the technique found Here in this video. I totally didn't get the results as in the video but I think all my brown tone ink pads could have been juicier, that may have helped, or it may have just been the operator, LOL!
Fun technique if you want to give it a try. Here are my 4 tries, the top two or with Distress inks and oxides, the bottom two are with Dye inks. The one I chose for my card was the die ink. You use glossy cardstock for this technique, I think that is why I have a bit of shine in this picture.
Memento - Desert Sand and Rich Cocoa inks for background
Our Daily bread designs - Nest stamp (fussy cut, colored w/markers)
Crafty Secrets - Bird Notes stamp (bird, fussy cut, colored w/markers)
Technique Tuesday - Happy Birthday sentiment stamp
Thanks for taking the time to stop by today,
Connie

What a cool background!! Your sweet bird and nest go perfectly!
these cards are absolutely GORGEOUS. i am all for earthy themes and these are stunning. so beautiful.
Oh wow, I totally love this technique, such a wonderful result! Your card is a beauty, dear Connie :) Big hugs xx
I love making wood grained backgrounds, yours came out beautifully! Especially topped with that sweet nest of eggs and MaMa birdie!
Fabulous backgrounds, Connie! I think they ALL look amazing. I do love wood grain, but usually rely on designer paper. This technique produces very realistic results. The bird stamp with your coloring is exceptionally pertty, too!
Your wood backgrounds are brilliant! The bird with her nest sit perfectly against the wood panel.
I love the natural wood look. I've not seen that technique before. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Wow, very clever Connie, love those backgrounds ... if I had some big brown pads I’d give it a go.. might try it anyhoo!!
Thanks for sharing and I really like your take on it.
