Northern Michigan

Finally getting to the pictures I took on our trip back to Michigan a couple weeks ago.

After all the celebrating of graduations and seeing family we headed up to Mackinac Bridge.  We got there at lunch time so we thought we would go ahead and have a picnic overlooking the bridge, when we pulled up our van was covered with these bugs that kind of looked like Mosquito's but a little bigger, hubby asked one of the park workers and he said they were Midges and wouldn't bite us, but let's just say it wouldn't make for a fun picnic so we had our picnic in the van :(  Thankfully the parking lot overlooks the bridge and water so that was nice.

The water had such great contrast in colors this day.

There were some good waves making some cool splashes that day too. Next we went over the bridge, now I don't care for going over bridges and this day they were working on the bridge that made the journey over even longer and all the noise and such was getting me quite anxious, but once we went down Highway 2 and pulled over and saw the following site of the bridge from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan it was worth it.

I was trying to get a good picture of the way the waves were coming in on the rocks and I got it all right, myself and my camera got a bit wet, I had to clean off my lens.

It was a pretty drive along the highway stopping and enjoying the water. I will share the evening photo's in another post.

Thought I would share a simple card I made for a friend :)

Hope your week is off to a great start, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and say HI,

Connie

Hi Connie, Just saw your link at another blog and hopped over to visit. And become your newest follower. I love this gorgeous butterfly image, and the floral background that looks so pretty with the focal image. The coloring on the butterfly is just wonderful, and such a pretty design layout. Certainly enjoyed seeing the gorgeous photos of the area you visited. Looks a bit like the New England coastline around Maine. Hope you'll find time to visit me too and Thanks For Sharing.

Love that card with a really favourite verse. How wonderful that God’s angels watch over and keep us in all our ways! a wonderful God we serve.

Wow! The colors in the water are amazing! It looks like someone flowed watercolors in streamlets, doesn't it? Loved seeing the bridge, and the pretty birch trees. The colors are just phenomenal! Thanks for sharing with us. We don't have Midges here. In May and Sept we have Love Bugs. They are highly acidic, non-biting, bugs that are smaller than flies but larger than mosquitoes. The fly "connected" in the thralls of love-making, covering trees, houses, and smashing into moving vehicles, making the cars difficult to clean. We can always tell the weather patterns of a certain temperature in the air by when the Love Bugs begin appearing for their mating ritual LOL Have a great day! xx

Oh, my... the colors in the sky and water are so beautiful together! Of course, I clicked up close on every photo so I could step right into the scene. I love taking these trips with you! We returned late Saturday night and I have 200+ photos to go through when I have time. So much to do after a week away!

You sure do get around. Gorgeous photos. You captured the crashing waves nicely. It's too bad you had to eat in your van. I lived in Canada, but had the opportunity to travel that bridge one year. It is indeed beautiful. Lovely card too.

your vacation pictures are beautiful connie!!! a picnic in the car, with a great view, is better than a picnic with uninvited guests. the hubs and i often bring sandwiches to our inlet, and eat in the car - it's fun!!

the water is beautiful, so many shades of blue. i always try to catch the splash. i find if you don't try so hard, it just happens. be careful, the rocks get slippery!!!

such a pretty card...anything with a butterfly, right??!!
