In our stamp group this week the challenge from one of the girls was to use black cardstock, I love these challenges that force you to do something you have wanted to do but just don't do it on your own. I have metallic markers that are to be used on black or dark cardstock and I just don't use them often enough so this challenge was perfect. I used an embossing folder to color.
Spectrum noir - Metallic markers
Crafters Companion - Matt Black card stock
Darice - Hanging Ornaments embossing folder
StarForm - Transparent Glitter Sticker
It was hard to pick up the metallic in the markers, and the gold on the ornament with the bow turned out more yellow and in real life it is more gold. I also had a hard time taking a picture of the black without getting that shine and this side view makes it look like it is curved which it is not.
Hope you have a good weekend,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,
Connie

Gorgeous card!Love it!
Wow, this looks fantastic! I thought it was a big die cut, but I see it's embossed. Your markers sure show up well on the black. It's something I haven't tried yet. Way back I did pencils over white ink on black. Challenges are good for getting us out of our boxes.
Wonderful design, love the dark background and delightful ornaments.

Such a fun technique and awesome ornament card!
A beautiful post and loving the background being dark which enhances everything else. Connie I sent a message to google/blogger and now no more robot for me. xx
this one is so cool!! and how fun to get to do something you have been wanting to do and get another christmas card for the stack!! win, win!!!
How dramatic with the black background, Connie! I love how pretty those metallic colors are! hugs, de
This came out beautifully! Love the look of them on the dark card stock. I 'tried' to do some different and long forgotten techniques last week....let's just say I have a stack of ugly die cuts lol
Very, very eye catching. The black background really makes your ornament pop, and of course the colours you used were perfect!
I actually made a card for the next TJ release with a black background. Sometimes I think I should use it more because it is a colour I stray from.
Stunning card, I love the coloured baubles on the black card.
