My friends brother died recently and when trying to figure out what to do for him, I went and read his obituary and found he was in the military and with Memorial day coming up, it made me think of the Poppies they use to sell downtown where I grew up around memorial day, my mom would always be one from the gentleman.
I have this paper pack and tags from a Card making magazine with poppies so that is where I started. I added the tag to a die cut tag to separate all that pattern of poppies.
- Country Diary of an Edwardian lady - Paper and tag collection from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine
- Spellbinders - A2 matting basics A die
- Anna Griffin Advent calendar - Tag die
- Recollections - Brad and lace
- Inky Antics - Simple Sentiments, embossed with white embossing powder
May we never forget the cost for our freedom, those men and women who gave up their lives for our freedom, and to the families who miss them.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
Connie

This is a very thoughtful and beautiful card, Connie. Yes, we must never forget why we observe Memorial Day.
you put so much thought intp personalizing your cards. this one is, as always, very thoughtful and pretty!!
The perfect good bye card for this vet! I too remember those poppies as a kid ... my dad was a vet and we girls (there were 3 of us) used to help him sell them on Veteran's Day & Memorial Day. Beautifully done my friend ... I'm sure it was greatly appreciated.
Biggest hugs and prayers to you all. And God bless all the sacrifices your Brother made being in the military. I love the poppies!! So pretty and such a neat tribute. xo
Ah yes, Poppies, reminds me of the poem, In Flanders Field. Beautiful papers, perfect for this occasion! So sorry for your friend, but this card will let her know you are thinking of her. I do love Tags on cards, or in general! ;)
Thank you truly is never enough for their sacrifice. Beautiful card xoxo
A perfect card.
All the best Jan
A beautiful card, Connie, and a wonderful tribute to honor the sacrifice your friends brother made by serving our country.
This card is such a heartfelt tribute. The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady paper and tag collection beautifully captures the significance of Memorial Day. The layering with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A die and the Anna Griffin Advent Calendar tag die adds wonderful depth. The Recollections brad and lace bring delicate finishing touches, while the Inky Antics Simple Sentiments, embossed with white embossing powder, perfectly expresses the message. A truly meaningful creation.
Adorable... Just perfect. Sorry for your friend's earthly loss.
