Sympathies

I have two to share today, the first is for my friend, who lost her cat this year. I tried to color this like her cat, she has it on display at her home and she told me every time she walks by it just touches her so.  That is why we do this in hopes that others will feel the love that goes into our cards, so it was an encouragement for me to keep going :)

  • ODBD - Kitty stamp colored w/markers
  • Taylored Expressions - Care & Comfort II sentiment stamp
  • Memory Box - Stitched Rectangle layer die
  • Gems

This next card is for my best friend I had while living in England, she told me that her sister had passed away. I used some stickers I had bought from Amazon to use in my junk journals but thought would be nice for a thinking of you card.

  • Stickers from Amazon
  • Basic Grey - Periphery paper
  • Spellbinders - Romantic Rectangle die
  • Ieebee - Fluttering Blooms washi tape
  • Diamond Press - Gold pen
  • Pebbles - Sentiment rub on

We actually have had a couple of days above freezing and we are going to get back to artic cold so today we are decorating the outside of the house after hubby get off work, we will have about an hour of day light so whatever we can get up in that amount of time will be it for this year :)

Hope the rest of you in the states are staying warm they say this is one of the coldest and snowy starts of the year we have had in awhile.  Praying for those out in Oregon getting all that rain, hope you are all staying safe too!
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,

Connie

It's so hard losing a dear pet, Connie, and your friend will treasure the love and sympathy poured into your sweet card. I'm sorry for her loss, too. Loving the collage of butterflies - it's so apropos since butterflies are constantly on the move and traveling to the next flower. Gosh, your weather sounds so frigid and unpleasant, though I remember how lovely it can be as well. We've been below normal in our temps, but still enjoying Florida's beauty. Butterflies still flit about, milkweed and other annuals are still blooming, but I have not seen the hummingbirds lately. Either they have gone to Mexico or South Florida. Like you, I hope everyone stays warm and healthy in the difficult weather the rest of North America is sustaining. Thanks for sharing your lovely cards. It's been a long time since I used rub-ons. Wonder if I have any left? Maybe in my sticker stash? I'll have to check it out. Love, de

Two very beautiful and very personal cards! A wonderful comfort, and they show that cards expressing our sympathy don't have to be gray or black. They show hope!

Awwwww.....anyone receiving one of these cards will be deeply touched, Connie! They are both beautiful. I am an animal lover, as you know, and I have had cats most of my life and it is never easy to lose a pet.

Connie, both cards are just wonderful and heartfelt. It's a lovely thing to send a handmade card from your heart and I know it is always appreciated. My heart is touched by the kitty card as you know how I love my pets like family. The stickers from Amazon are so pretty! The ads on Pinterest have guided me to some very nice things there. They've had a terrible time in the northwest of our state and Washington. We are not experiencing any of it down here in southwest Oregon, but I know how it can be as we've had it in the past.

Both cards radiate such heartfelt care and creativity. The kitty design captures such tender memory, and the butterfly collage feels uplifting and full of gentle movement. They show how sympathy cards can bring comfort while still offering beauty and hope.
